I've previously attempted hearing aids through the audiologist connected to my health insurance because I have a moderate hearing loss in my right ear. I spent $795 for commercial hearing aids with a list price of $3000 each (the audiologist advised both ears for "balance" even though I was only concerned about one ear). The visit to the audiologist was quite similar to going to a car dealership—there was a lot of selling mixed in with counseling.Even though those hearing aids amplified sounds, the outcome was highly disappointing. The sound sounded tinny, like a cheap toy's speaker. After cancellation, I paid "only" $295 per side after returning them during the trial period. I decided to try one of the highly rated amplifiers on Amazon after going without for two years and noticing that my right ear hearing was getting worse (harder to hear TV and certain frequencies of dialogue, and difficulties communicating in loud environments like parties).I'm happy with the Banlijian ZIV-201's performance, as well as shocked and thrilled. It delivers what I first anticipated from a hearing aid: it amplifies sounds without distorting them and without significantly increasing background noise in the space. Although I probably should have ordered the model for "moderate to severe hearing loss," for the time being this one satisfies my needs. I find that I enjoy it at the highest volume setting.I had no trouble adjusting the gadget and was able to select the proper earpiece and tube length the first time around. After wearing it for about a week, I now relish putting it on every morning. (This is coming from someone who wanted to put off wearing a hearing aid as long as possible due to concerns about the age-related stigma associated with it.)I also got the extra sets of ear tubes with the perplexing square end pieces. After reading the directions, I was unable to figure out how to attach those sections, but there was no need because the simpler tube already worked. Note that there are tiny markers (red and blue) on the tubes to indicate which is for which ear if you do wish to or need to utilize those supplementary components.The charging process is the only thing I don't like. After fumbling with those tiny hearing aid batteries, I appreciate the rechargeable battery. The battery could be harmed by overnight charging, according to the manufacturer. (They specifically state this in one of the questions addressed above.) In order to condition the battery, you should let it totally discharge for at least the first several charges.My routine include charging the battery for two hours when I wake up, wearing it the entire day (it has never run out of power while I was using it), then letting it totally discharge by leaving it on at night. As a result, I cannot use it during the morning's two-hour charging period. I'd want to be able to remove it from the charging case while it's still charged at night, let it charge over night, and then put it on right away in the morning, but it would go against the manufacturer's recommendations.Note that the ZIV-201 reviewed here is for mild to moderate hearing loss and offers 20–24 hours of usable time after a two-hour charge. It appears that either many Banlijian reviews are posted under the incorrect product on Amazon, or incorrect products are being reviewed.UPDATE: After misplacing the ZIV-201, I purchased the Banglijian Hearing Amplifier Rechargeable Personal Sound Amplifier (PSAP) with Digital Noise Cancelling to Aid and Assist Hearing, which is intended for people with more severe hearing loss. The latter is more affordable, has more adjustability, and a longer battery life. But when I discovered the ZIV-201, I discovered that I still liked it more. For me, it appears to have the ideal hearing amplification profile.I discovered the ZIV-201 battery was depleting quickly after a few months and contacted the seller for warranty assistance. They offered the same kind of courtesy that other reviewers have. I now possess a substitute that functions just as well as the original.

Even though I am one of those people who never writes reviews, I feel compelled to do one for this product. For my 93-year-old mother, who uses hearing aids and has a significant hearing loss, I bought this PocketTalker. When they do work, hearing aids are only marginally beneficial, and they are obviously quite expensive. My mother could hear me plainly as soon as I put on the headphones. In contrast to when she wears her hearing aids, I didn't need to yell. It was like my mother was coming home again. Instead of attempting to guess and getting irritated, she can engage in the conversation and respond appropriately when she can hear what we're saying. I carried the device along when I went her to see an elderly, very close friend who had known her for a very long time. Her companion didn't have the stamina to shout so that my mother could hear her, so she hadn't spoken to this woman in a while. Now that my mother could hear her, it was such a wonderful sight to see her and her buddy reunited. Since I reside halfway around the world from my mother, our only method of communication during the interim is through vexing phone calls. My mum now positions the microphone near to the phone and dons the headphones. There will be no more shouting or misunderstandings; we can now finally have a decent discourse. I've had hearing aids for more than 30 years. I've previously purchased low-end, expensive aids. I recently purchased two BLJ hearing amplifiers. I occasionally get some feedback, but I keep them because of the excellent sound quality. At the price I paid, they truly represent a deal. Since I was a little child, I have experienced a mild hearing loss. Over the years, I've worn numerous tailored hearing aids, and they occasionally, too, produce feedback. They are worth the buy even with the occasional little feedback. My ability to recognize speech has greatly increased. The noise is as distinct as a bell. Zero distortion—-UPDATE: I think using the little, bell-shaped domes was the cause of my feedback issue. I believed that these were the best options for me. Even though I asked for more domes, the merchant responded right away and provided them to me. But I'm now using the big dome. I was inserting the amplifier too deeply into my ear with the little dome. I was receiving some responses. I tested the large dome and did not insert it all the way into my ear, and it was extremely pleasant. Additionally, there is almost no feedback. I was also able to increase the volume. This worked for me; perhaps it will be useful to someone else. I still maintain that the sound is extremely clean and distortion-free.—-YET ANOTHER UPDATETo choose from, there are 3 "programs." The first software, which boosts higher frequencies, is what I had been using. Since then, I've been using the middle (second) software. Less highs and more mid-range can be found in this range. I discover that this program gives me LESS input, allowing me to increase the volume by one level without receiving any. It results in a richer tone. You simply have to give these a shot and discover what works for you.

The assembly instructions in the instruction manual are not very clear. The clear plastic hook must be removed from the body before the ear tubes can be attached. It's first difficult to understand and not evident why the hooks are there since they have no use.These tools are generally fairly good. Once the appropriate earbud has been chosen, they are cozy. They effectively amplify sound without adding too much extraneous noise. Other types I've tried made loud, metallic-sounding noises when things like plates were stacked or hard shoes were placed on the floor. On that, I do better with the Conilers. However, when driving on the interstate here on deteriorated concrete roads, with or without aids in, they definitely add a LOT of background noise. When I enter the motorway, I turn them off.With the gadgets in your ear, the controls (on/off, volume) are straightforward and simple to use by touch alone. When settings are modified, beeps provide feedback.The excellent integrated charging dock is another another perk. When properly installed, LEDs begin to glow blue; when fully charged, they turn green. I wear them all day long, and the batteries never run out.I also have tinnitus, but these gadgets' additional auditory input considerably masks its unpleasantness, making it mostly background noise unless I pay attention to it. a pleasant relief.Overall, a very decent product for around 10% of the cost of hearing aids that have been custom fitted. I think the little flaws are worth the price difference.

I was leery when I first saw this product. I was trying to find my 95-year-old mother, who has hearing loss in her right ear due to aging. She was opposed to it. Even so, I placed the order in the hopes that it would be useful before we visited an audiologist and spent $4,000 on hearing aids. It came earlier than I anticipated, nicely wrapped, and with its own case. It had a very sturdy, well-made feel to it. I DO mean to say that the instructions are straightforward and simple to follow. Right out of the package, I placed it in my mother's ear at the lowest volume level. She was astounded right away. She could hear me speaking in a normal voice even from another room, which she hadn't been able to do in years. However, the best part was that she could hear her TV and her favorite music clearly and at a normal volume. I would want to express our gratitude to this firm for producing such an excellent product at a reasonable price. I'll be promoting this stuff to everyone I come across. I've used many other brands of amplifiers, and this one is by far the finest. I bought many of the Laiwen because I believed I had discovered the best for me, but this one is much better for me because it has around 25% more volume. I hear better than with the Laiwen, but it costs more. While watching TV, I conducted comparative tests, and without a doubt, this one's volume is superior.That's why I just placed a third order.Charge the device with the supplied cable before use.You should be aware that the amplifier does not come with an attached earphone. The amplifier must be connected to the tube that holds the earphone before it may be severed. It is a good idea, and you may size it to fit your ear, but if you weren't expecting this, it surprises you.I used one of my other amplifiers as a model to establish how long the tube should be after the cut because the other amplifiers I own fit me perfectly.It can be a little challenging to force the tube onto the amplifier, but it is possible.There are several earbuds of various sizes provided. Having the earbud firmly in the ear canal is the best way to prevent whistling, so select the one that creates the best seal for you.Highly advised.

These were delivered to me less than 24 hours ago, so I would be prepared if they failed soon.I bought them because I liked the battery-operated New ear units but didn't like how frequently I had to change the batteries and keep extras on hand.When these arrived, I quickly gave them a try, but the amplification was poor.They were charged over night, and this morning they function flawlessly!In fact, I have the ability to increase the TV volume up to an uncomfortable level!Another major benefit is how much lighter and smaller they are; see photo.
