Update: Velpeau has added more height options since I first wrote this review in 2018. The previous Classic and Plus versions are now referred to as "Enhanced" and "Comfort," respectively. I'm here to purchase the Enhanced model and test it out as a collar for sleeping upright on a plane or in a car. I will test the Enhanced since although I use the Comfort version every night in bed to reduce sleep apnea, it isn't nearly rigid enough to use as an aircraft cushion.Original assessment A separate Velpeau model (also blue) is sold on a different Amazon page. There are several distinct types of Velpeau neck collars; there are two on this page (the Plus and the Classic). The blue VP0201 Classic is what I bought. I believe you would get the Plus if you desired a stronger brace (for example, to stop movement) (brown). The blue VP0201 Classic features a sturdy but cushioned medium level of support. However, I wish the zipper positioning had been given more consideration. I had to make sure to always turn the pillow's other side up because it upset me and is on one of the faces. I tried the full size for a few nights, but because of my narrow neck, I had to remove the insert. Unfortunately, after around 60 days, I started to get neck and back pain and realized the cushion was not for me. When I first saw this strange-looking pillow and read the reviews, I was very dubious. People's complaints that it was too firm motivated me to give it a try. I adore this pillow so much! I have a poor neck have had been in a lot of automobile accidents. I usually use a cervical pillow with an indentation in the middle, but over the years the quality of these pillows has declined and I feel like I need to buy a new one every few months because they lose their form and support, regardless of the seller. I typically sleep on my side or my back. The pillow is just right for side sleeping because it is the ideal height and supports my neck while allowing my shoulder and arm to be in a natural position. The pillow is frequently overly low, which causes the shoulder and arm to feel restricted. This pillow has relieved the discomfort and stiffness in my neck. Oh, I almost forgot. The pillow's ability to cradle your arm is another fantastic feature that makes it stand out from the crowd. I have to admit that this might be my favorite feature of the pillow. The armrest region is great, however I've learnt to deal with the neck ache. This is exactly what I've been wanting for a very long time, therefore I don't think it's too strict at all! Unfortunately, this doesn't work very well either of the shape of the pillow or simply because of how durable the material is. When selecting a new pillow for 2019, I was aware that I wanted a contoured one. Regular contoured pillows—those with a lengthy bump along one edge to support your neck—have long been my addiction. However, Amazon was now also displaying amusing pillow oddities, such as this one. The only pillow that resembled a butterfly and had a hole in the centre was this one, and for some reason I just couldn't help myself. Of course, I was a little apprehensive about experimenting with something as important as sleep.It turns out that when you lie down, that "hole area" literally cradles your head. It was an amazing feeling to have support everywhere and not have your head pressed up against anything. went straight for it. What a great concept. But let's not mention what a family member referred to it as the moment she noticed the hole.:) It's fortunate that it won't be visible inside a typical pillowcase.A star has been removed for the sides. The side (they call it the "B" section; I'll call it the "wings") is for side sleepers, according to the guide you can find among the photographs of this item. Your shoulder should, according to the guide, precisely fit somewhere in there. Well, the wings are sort of flying. Nothing substantial is beneath them, perhaps a place for that shoulder? So if you attempt sleeping on them, they just sag down. I'm f, 5'5", 125 lbs., so there's no way I can actually cram my own shoulder under a wing while lying on my side to support my head and the wing itself; as a result, I just roll back to the hole area and get all cradled in there once more.It's not a terrific alternative to sleep on your side. I'll update the review if I ever figure out how the wings work. Otherwise, ideal for back sleepers for the time being. In addition, despite my little size, I use the top side pretty contentedly. Technically, one may also side-sleep there.

Due to neck problems, I purchased these based on the ratings and the form, reasoning that anything would be an improvement over the standard pillows we already owned. That they come in a two pack is a blessing because my spouse also adores them. They are ideal for bringing over to our "lazy sofa" while relaxing there so you can get some neck support.
