Some common changes that can occur are becoming more emotionally sensitive, more impulsive, or more likely to have outbursts of anger. In some cases, people may become more withdrawn and introspective. It is important to remember that everyone is different and will experience different changes, if any, after a stroke.

I've been having trouble bending over ever since I had lower back discomfort from a car accident. Simple actions like putting on my socks have been excruciatingly painful and difficult. I don't always have help around the house, and I don't like to ask for it only for that reason since it makes me feel ineffective. I was able to restore my independence because of the socks; now, putting on socks doesn't take me the entire morning, and I don't struggle or decide to wear sandals instead. This is a fantastic tool that I use on a daily basis.

I'm a big fan of this shoe horn. I have a high arch, back problems, and balance issues. Due to my high arch and arthritic hands, bending to tie laces or try to get shoes on that are difficult to get on was quite difficult. I give this shoe horn five stars for the reasons I've outlined below.I can sit and put on my shoes without having to bend over or put a lot of strain on my back thanks to the length. It's convenient to travel with because it can be split into two pieces, which I appreciate.Because of its neutral hue, it blends in with the space where I put on my shoes. The sock removal hook worked great for me after trying it out.Hanging up the phone or moving into the path is simple.I questioned whether it would be too wide, but it fits all of my shoes.Overall, I haven't been able to see a drawback to this device, and I heartily endorse it.

For those of us who can't reach our socks and other items, this is by far the better "dressing stick." This holds on, doesn't bend or break, is really well made, and has a thick, non-slip grip as opposed to the cheap wooden sticks with the screwed in and overly flexible "pull on/push off" hook. It is also very well manufactured. Get this stick even if you receive the wooden stick in a bundle ("Hip Kit" or another). It is worthwhile. Even if it costs a few dollars extra, if I were a maker of hip kits, I would enter a contract with this manufacturer to include this gadget in my kit.

I had the toughest time putting my son's shoes on him since my wife placed these rubber shoe lace things on his shoes (so he doesn't have to tie them up). He struggled and yelled a lot to put his shoes on. With no yelling, shoes that slip on easily, high fives, and knuckles, we were able to mend our friendship and continue with our day.

For years, I had to rely on others to help me carry my things down from the upper racks of my walk-in wardrobe using a stepladder. I had to get a dressing stick for myself after seeing one at a store a few months back. It's a really basic tool, but it makes it easy to raise or lower the hangers. I can also use the stick to lift some of the smaller, front-handled (fabric) bins from the upper shelves, but it's a little trickier to raise them back up. However, with practice, it becomes simpler. This stick may be too short if you have extremely tall racks or shelves, but it is the perfect length for areas with 8 or 9 foot ceilings.Putting the draw cord from blinds on a hook that is out of my reach (some of my blinds stay down all the time, so I tie the chord together and hang it on a hook out of the way) is another duty I've done with the stick (and out of reach of pets and kids).

While the device accomplishes the task I anticipated it to, I find it difficult to use it as it should be used since, when moved during trial use, the functional head begins to unscrew from the wooden stick. It is something that should have been returned so that I can get another, but I've only kept it because I definitely required it despite any problems. I may still carry it out.I originally awarded this three stars because of the issue as described above. (Following the writing of the above review, I sent further clarification that I do not see included yet so I will try to compose it again in all justice to the seller.) After publishing the review, I understood that the seller wanted to handle any issues and that I hadn't given them a chance to remedy my issue. As soon as I did, they offered to give me a replacement without requiring me to send back the flawed item. Since the seller stands by the quality of their goods and strives to satisfy every client, I can now honestly offer both the product and seller five stars. There is nothing more I can ask for.

For anyone who finds it difficult to bend much, this device is fantastic. Although the occupational therapist I visited following hip surgery tried to teach me how to utilise the gadget at the other end, the hook is actually all I ever use. But for my needs, the hook is all I ever require for dressing. It's one of the essential items that, despite my limited movement and inability to bend, allow me to be independent.

After having my hip replaced, I thought this could be useful, and it has, mainly for purposes other than those for which it was intended. It might be quite difficult to put on shorts or pants, especially in the first month after surgery. Most of the time, I hold the leg open with my grabber, and I've propped open the other side with a dressing stick.Sincerely, the most useful thing I've done with this puppy is to periodically drop my grabber and pick it up with the hook end.It may seem trivial to those who aren't limited in their ability to bend and squat, but without it, it would have taken three more cycles of bright monkeys to come up with alternative methods of picking the object up. Overall, I'm happy that my dressing aid is still working.

A shoe horn is a tool that is used to help people put on their shoes. It is a long, thin piece of metal or plastic that is curved at the end. The shoe horn is placed into the back of the shoe and then the person slides their foot into the shoe. The shoe horn makes it easier to put on shoes, especially if the person has a hard time bending down.
There are many items that can be helpful in assisting a disabled person get dressed. One example is a dressing stick. This is a long stick with a hook on one end that can be used to help pull clothes on and off. Another example is a reacher. There are also many adaptive clothing items available that can make dressing easier, such as shirts with Velcro closures or pants with elastic waists.
There is no definitive answer to this question as it depends on the individual patient and the type of stroke they have had. However, as a general rule, it is usually easier to dress a stroke patient on their unaffected side first. This allows you to support their affected side and helps to prevent them from falling over.
