Yes, Yeti coolers are good for camping because they are durable and can keep food and drinks cold for a long time.
When you are packing a cooler with food and drinks for a picnic or trip, you may wonder whether to put the ice on top or bottom. There are pros and cons to both methods. Putting the ice on top will keep your food and drinks colder, since the ice will act as a barrier from the outside air. However, this method can cause your drinks to get waterlogged and your food to get soggy. Putting the ice on the bottom of the cooler will keep your food and drinks cold, but not as cold as if the ice was on top
Aluminum foil can help keep ice from melting because it is a good conductor of heat. The foil will help to transfer the cold from the ice to the food that you are trying to keep cold.
No, salt actually causes ice to melt faster. When salt is added to ice, it lowers the freezing point, causing the ice to melt.

Fantastic product Simple to set up and utilize.I decided to get a set of these to test them out. I bought the empty, needing to be filled and sealed ones. Really simple, and the very thorough printed instructions that come with the boxes explain both what to do and what not to do. For me, it was crucial to avoid doing something like leaving water in the area you were going to seal. The water turns to steam when heated with an iron, making a tight seal impossible. However, it was simple to remove the moisture and reseal. With a paper towel, I dried off any water that was above the zip lock on the others.I sealed them and stored them in my deep freezer for roughly two days. To enable effective freezing... I also bought a soft cooler from Amazon, which I used. used two of the frozen Cooler Shock packs and filled with six cold water bottles. I put the cooler in the rear seat of my work-related commuting vehicle. Throughout my nine-hour shift, the automobile is in full sunlight. The ambient temperature rose to between 106 and 108 degrees during the testing week, allowing my car's interior to reach a minimum temperature of almost 150 degrees. After the first test day, I checked the packs, and they were still intact. On the second test day, they were softening but were still quite frigid. On the third day, the packs had returned to their gel form and the water within was still very cold. Without adding or removing any of the ingredients, I would say that after four days in a hot car, the packs were cool, but not as cold as grabbing a bottle of water out of a frig. Despite using the same packs for 4 days, the test was quite successful. a great deal less expensive than buying ice and fixing water leaks... I would strongly suggest them, and the ones I purchased were packaged in fours. Therefore, I think they would last a lot longer if I had utilized all four. In order to provide my wife and kids with an ice-cold bottle of water after a long day of school, I am currently running two every two days in the same cooler. Since I know they will leave the cooler open and lose some of its cold surface area, I have only been rotating two every day.

Our puppy is a Samoyed (double-coated fluff ball), which is built for snow and sledding but not for the heat of Houston. We chose her since the breed is reputed to be hypoallergenic and excellent with children. She was becoming too hot in her box, which prevented her from sleeping through the night. Doggy chill mats don't stay cold for very long after being placed in the freezer, so I bought this product as a replacement. We had tried a number of them, and despite hard-freezing them, by 2:30 AM we would have added blue ice packs to the dog bed/crate. I reasoned that since these packs are large enough, freezing them all together would be preferable to those cold mats that just keep you chilly for a short while. She survives from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. with the help of the Cooler Shock. The Cooler Shock has mostly thawed by morning, but it is still cool to the touch. If Blue Ice was on a pet chill mat, it would be entirely defrosted and toasty. In the end, I am able to sleep all night long. The dog, who considers it to be the nicest treat ever, looks at the freezer while waiting to go to sleep. Although that is undoubtedly the most bizarre application imaginable, thermodynamically speaking, they perform admirably next to a hairy heat exchanger that operates at 101 degrees.

I work in an office with a non-adjustable thermostat, like the majority of people. Someone incompetent controls the temperature since we can't be trusted to determine what is comfortable for us. Additionally, the heat is inoperable during the winter. All year long, we are actually under a frigid wind. And the moron down town claims it's OK even though we have to wear jackets, hats, gloves, and blankets. It's not alright. These tiny ice cubes are a fantastic fix. Simply place one on top of the thermostat to fool it into believing the room is really cold. NOTHING happens to the air. The thermostat was once covered with duct tape and a Ziploc bag filled with crushed ice, but those bags may leak, and we were concerned the tape would damage the paint. These small ice packs balance precisely, unlike wider ice packs that may slide off. The main issue is that, on humid days, moisture might start to drip. We merely wrapped it in a paper towel.I work 10-hour shifts, and unless the ice pack we're using thaws, I often only need to refill it once each shift. The fact that you have backups is what makes this four pack so fantastic. They won't have to wait for a thawed pack to freeze up again, especially if your office is open 24/7 and has different shifts working.

I owned two vintage Coleman coolers with cracked plastic hinges. The smaller of my two coolers, which were both at least ten years old, did not have wheels. I set out to purchase new coolers, which proved to be more difficult than I had anticipated. Given the storage space behind the front seats of my Ford F150, the coolers had grown larger than I had wanted over the years. When I finally located an Igloo ice chest that was the perfect size, I noticed that its wheels were placed on the short sides rather than the long sides after bringing it home. I didn't have an aisle that broad in my two-car garage, which meant that the ice chest had to be pushed in the direction of its breadth. The new ice chest did not have a drain plug, whereas my old one did. So, I placed a replacement hinge order. The hinges were straightforward to install, fit both chests, and allowed me to continue using familiar chests while saving over $50. Each chest had a model number on the bottom, and while the number on one of the chests did not match the replacement number, the hinge sizes and hole placements corresponded. (If you intend to do this, keep your shattered hinges as a reference.)

After receiving some fit and fresh containers and realizing how much I adore the thin ice packs, I ordered these. I can tuck these into my lunchbox around the food's borders, between my sandwich and drink, and in even smaller spots for the smaller ones. They work well to keep my food icy cold for hours and are lightweight. I heartily endorse them.***Update***These have been with me for more than a year and are still going strong. One of them has a slight protrusion, but nothing alarming. They also easily fit into the Coleman FlipLid 6 Personal Cooler. Even more cold is provided in my lunch box without taking up any additional room thanks to the smaller fit and fresh slim ice packs, which also fit inside the lids of the fit and fresh boxes! Although I'm not sure if you can purchase things separately, here is one of the sets I own. One-cup chilled lunch containers from Fresh Starts with detachable ice packs

In order to replace wet, disposable ice, I purchased a few Yeti ice products. I didn't have high hopes. In my Tundra 35 this morning, I placed my (frozen) Yeti ice at the bottom, added some wine and beer, and then covered it with a bag of ice purchased from a store. Although I didn't chill my Tundra beforehand, the wine and beer were chilled. After loading the Tundra, I discovered that some of the commercial ice had melted and then refroze into Yeti ice a few hours later. A bottle of wine also solidified to the Yeti ice when the two prices of Yeti ice froze together. Impressive! These claims are true!
A good rule of thumb is that you'll need about one cubic foot of cooler space for each person in your party. So, for example, if you're going camping with four people, you'll need a four-cubic-foot cooler.
You'll need a cooler that can hold at least 30 quarts if you're planning to take food and drinks for two people on a camping trip or picnic. A small, personal-sized cooler might be fine for a day hike or beach trip for two, but you'll need something larger if you're planning to be out for more than a day or if you want to have enough room to store perishables.
Assuming you would like tips on how to keep a cooler cold for an extended period of time: 1. Choose a high-quality cooler. This will make a big difference in how well your cooler retains ice. 2. Pre-cool your cooler. Put it in the fridge or freezer for a few hours before packing it with food. 3. Use frozen ice packs or make your own by freezing water in clean, empty plastic bottles. 4. Layer your food. Put the ice packs on the bottom, then layer in your food. This will help keep everything
One way to keep food cold in a camper cooler is to use ice. You can either use ice cubes or buy a block of ice. Another way to keep food cold is to use gel packs. You can either buy these or make them yourself by freezing water in a container.
When camping, you can keep ice from melting by storing it in a cooler and keeping it out of direct sunlight. You can also use ice packs or dry ice to keep your cooler cold.
You can use a cooler for camping in a few different ways. The most common way is to use it to keep your food and drinks cold. You can also use it to store ice for your cooler.
