This is the best option at the pricing. I bought this so I could watch baseball tournaments outside in the breeze and light rain. There is usually a month in the spring and fall when watching sports might be uncomfortable and call for covers. This works and packs up nicely in a little bag. I won't be asking for the $150 Mambe blanket for Christmas, but for under $30, it will do. It may have seemed a little stiff when it first came out of the bag, but after a few washes and dryings, this quilted blanket is flexible and won't slide around. The fleece underneat is warm and soft, not microfiber plush. It was true to size at 82 x 55 inches. My son and I went outside with two Amazon-related blankets (this and the "XL Plush Fleece Outdoor Stadium Rainproof and Windproof Picnic Blanket - Camp Blanket (Blue)") in a very light rain with a bit of wind, and the wind came right through the XL Plush fleece blanket. I severely damaged this object. I initially had the impression that Shadowfax had sent it on Gandalf's behalf. When I opened it, it smelled like chemicals and oil, as many others have also noted. In fact, it made your hands greasy, so I washed it with regular detergent and ran a regular wash cycle with no issues. We have a laundry line, so I hung it up to dry for a bit. When it wasn't completely dried, I got impatient and put it in the low heat dryer. This time, there were no issues. I might give my wife one for our anniversary because she appreciated how huge it was (it covered the top of our king-size bed).Then I brought this along for a weekend camping trip in the wilderness with two of my friends, using it as a blanket, a seat cushion on a wet log (and the wet ground), etc. I spent night one in my hammock and night two on the floor. The item is strong, unquestionably stain- and dirt-resistant, and unquestionably fire-resistant. During the night, I wished it was a foot or two broader to get a better wrap, but it was still functional. This made up for a lot of my errors, but the ground was cold and I didn't have much insulation. It neatly rolls up and fastens to the base of my bag. However, in a good way. You can find blankets made entirely of wool that are superior, as others have noted, but for the price and size of this good-quality item, you can't go wrong.

I have been a year-round, seasoned, and incredibly skilled wilderness traveler, and I could not be more pleased with this gear. It *exactly* matches what I was looking for. There are three main factors that go into every piece of kit when hiking through the wilderness, up and down mountains, for days and nights on end, cut off from civilization: utility, packability, and weight. The greatest option for backpacking in the spring, summer, and fall is without a doubt this blanket. There is nothing that packs down as little and compactly or has a greater weight-to-heat retention ratio than this.If, like me, you're attempting to infer the size and weight from the comments or the images, allow me to explain: This blanket weighs about half as much and is roughly the size of a standard loaf of white bread when it is packed away in the stuff sack that it comes in. But it won't condense as far as this. If you need to, it can be folded down to half its current size.The blanket is the ideal size for one full-size man when it is fluffed, lofted, and fully unfolded. Since I'm 6', this fits me perfectly and doesn't have any extra, unnecessary, or luxuries material. I almost chose a goose-down "throw" instead of a "blanket" since I was concerned it would come with too much material; nonetheless, I'm pleased I didn't. (Other backpackers can see where I'm going with this. Excess is something we detest.) Excellent for CAMPING and FESTIVALS!Recently bought and brought to a camping music festival, this excellent blanket has shown to be highly practical and adaptable. Easy to fold or tuck into its carrying pouch and is lightweight (not one of those "never will fit back in after the first time you take it out" situations). It's easy because I've been drinking, so look. Don't even take it out of the washing until you've washed it twice, possibly three times. At the end of the cycle, simply add an additional standard amount of detergent, then repeat the process. Due to the sewn edges, dry in the dryer on low heat. Don't do it because if you put it on high heat it can merely shrink. BOOM! odor gone. It's there to prevent bugs from eating it. the substance that is. As far as typical application is concerned, it is safe.Why does that matter? You can keep them around for emergencies if you don't wash them and keep them smelling funky with the chemical to prevent them from being eaten. In essence, you can buy these, toss them in the cellar, safe room, vault, or whatever else you have, and they won't get eaten. Even if they stink, they will keep you warm and cause no harm for a few days. Alternately, you might wash them twice or three times to get rid of the odor and use them frequently like I do.They keep you warm and, in my opinion, are not very scratchy. I'm a little biased, though, because I don't mind wool. I advise you to try using wool if you haven't already. Wool is something that people either love or loathe. Well, if you detest it, survival. Camping, if you don't mind it, and when necessary.

I purchased this blanket to use for away baseball games for warmth, wind protection, and rain. It is quite plush. Everyone wants to use my blanket, so I really bought a second one. I chose the green 90% wool version of the EKTOS fire retardant-treated wool blanket over the blue 100% or other options because there was no smell when I first opened the bag, negating the need to wash, line dry, deal with fuzzies, and repeat as necessary until I was satisfied. I travel frequently for work, however I forgot my cloudz blanket on the plane. I was terrified. The best travel blanket I've ever used is by far this one. I use it in my lap and wrap it around my legs like a burrito to feel cozy and keep from obstructing the space of my fellow riders.1. It takes up very little space in my backpack and is quite lightweight and compact.2. It offers exactly the right amount of security. I don't feel too hot or cold.
