I just got it today, and my initial thoughts are that it's much more compact than I anticipated, which is fantastic. The Sergeant (ESB) appears to be solidly constructed. Remember that because it is Mylar, there will be silver showing where it has been folded; but, as this only affects appearance, it is not a huge concern. Since it is airtight, opening it was a little challenging, but that is to be expected. Go slowly. Using a black light to illuminate the (ESB), I found no problems with the coating, and the tape on the seams is very sturdy. It's 42 degrees outside, and after a few minutes I started to feel quite warm. I stepped outside and entered. The best option is to fold hotdog style a few times and roll from the bottom to get the air out because the windproof and waterproof portion really reveals when trying to roll back up.The text on the (ESB) peels off, goes everywhere, and sort of sticks, which I found to be the largest problem. However, that is only for show and won't matter if there is a true emergency.I really appreciate the quality overall and hope I never have to use it, even though I think it will keep me warm and cozy. Additionally, there is a lifetime warranty, which is nice in case I ever have any problems.

This item is a mylar sleeping bag for emergency use that has been strengthened at the seams. It has a printed camouflage pattern on one side and regular reflective mylar inside. The same cautions apply to all mylar products, but this one is sturdy enough for everyday use. It can accommodate two kids or a big man. Although the whistle isn't particularly loud, it is undoubtedly louder than yelling. It comes with the device. The carrying bag is the component of the product that is least properly built. I discovered that the carrying bag may be ripped quite easy, even accidentally. Given that it might easily snag on trees or briars and be damaged, you should keep this within your bag rather than outside where I usually store mine. For difficult hauls and camping trips, I advise placing the complete product, bag and all, inside a better nylon type bag.I give it a total of 5/5 rather than 4/5 due to the price. For anyone who might be in a vulnerable circumstance, it's $10 well spent. I think you can never have too much mylar. Normally, after using one to the point where it tears or something similar, I cut it open to use as an excellent fire reflector (don't get too close, though) or an extra canopy.

I purchased this for my backcountry big game hunting survival kit. I've always thought the guide was complete. This previous trip, as soon as I arrived home, I started putting together a survival bag. I looked into small emergency sleeping bags that are effective and don't take up much room in your pack, among other stuff. This satisfied my needs and suited the bill. Do yourself a favor and avoid putting your life in the hands of a guide, even if you believe he has the tools to keep you alive. Most likely, he doesn't. On my previous trip, I had a personal locating device (PLD), but my previous guide did not. We made it back to his truck despite the fact that he was injured in an atv accident, which cracked a number of his ribs. Just an hour earlier, a grizzly had made a stop at our camp's edge. When we were out hunting near a lonely lake, I discovered that he had very little safety gear. Although I haven't attempted it yet and I hope I never have to, I really want to go back home vertically rather than horizontally. (Full disclosure: I have not yet "used" the product, but it appears to be well-made and durable.) In order to comply with a mountain trail race's "gear requirement," I purchased this item. According to the rule, you had to check in with water and a raincoat, as well as an emergency blanket and a whistle. I don't consider myself to be a small person at 6' and about 250 lbs, yet I easily fit in this bag. My shoulders are readily covered when I'm standing up, and my head can be covered if I squat slightly (or slightly bend my knees while lying down).Although you do need to insulate yourself from the ground in something like this if you are planning to lay down, I walked outside in 35F, very windy, and rainy weather wearing jeans and a t-shirt and was very comfortable.If you were very cautious to avoid anything sharp, it would probably last a couple of nights because it seems to be rather durable. At the penalty of a little bit extra bulk, they are unquestionably more durable than mylar bags. I would advise putting packing tape and duct tape in your emergency kit for possible tears.Given that it is just a plastic bag, I assume that if you spend hours inside of it, you will become wet from moisture buildup, but I did not spend that much time inside of it.Under ideal conditions (inside on a spotless wood floor), I had no issue rolling it back up and putting it back into its tiny bag. You could probably handle it outside, but I didn't try.Overall, the tiny mylar emergency blankets have seen a MASSIVE boost.

(That reveals anything about this product) I waited and discovered that it would soon be back in stock, so I placed my order. Mind you, I initially read a lot of other reviews.THE "COME TO JESUS" TALK IS ABOUT TO BEGIN. It appears that some people have excessive expectations. Some people purchased this for recreational use. Avoid doing this; only use as an emergency bivy or sleeping bag. It's not designed to be cozy! It's not compliant and soft. It's designed to keep you alive if something goes wrong and you end up outside in the cold. It will effectively carry out its intended function. Because it is impermeable, venting will be required in accordance with the directions. Even if you're a touch damp, you'll still be alive! Isn't that the point? I chose it since it seemed more durable than other bags intended for the same usage. I purchased it because, at 5'11" and 260 lbs, it will fit me. It is in my bug-out bag that I purchased. I'm a survivalist and, if at all possible, spend a lot of time outside, so I am aware of my needs and the limitations of this backpack. Yes, I'd buy it once more. Although I now own items by other manufacturers that are comparable, I believe I will get a second one of them in case I end up having to bug out for longer than anticipated. I felt this product may be a great addition to my husband's and my 72-hour emergency kits, but I had a few reservations about it. Before making the purchase, I would have liked a reviewer to address the following questions for me:What makes this different from simply using a reflective emergency blanket and your own rope or paracord?Think of stacking two emergency blankets and closing them from two opposing edges. That is how this product is comparable to it (although see the product description for size comparisons to other emergency blankets). Both hanging up this tent and the instructions found on the package are fairly simple to understand. To hang the tent, just lay it flat on the ground, thread a rope through one side of it, and secure both ends of the rope to anything. You simply crawl inside and your body holds the tent to the ground; there is nothing holding the bottom of the tent to the ground. Additionally, it would do a far better job of shielding you from the elements than just a blanket would because it is hanging with you inside.*How effectively will it actually pack, particularly after use?I provided images to illustrate the tent's folded size in relation to a deck of cards. I will admit that although it was neatly folded before use (although I had to use an elastic hair band to keep it that way), the type of cloth made it challenging to fold after usage. However, given that I've previously used this material to make emergency blankets, I kind of anticipated it.*How spacious is it; would it actually accommodate two people as claimed, or would I need to purchase more units or a different model to suit our needs?I was astonished at how useful it was for fitting numerous people once it was set up with the rope. By tying the rope high or low from the ground, you can actually choose how wide you want to make it and, consequently, how many people you want to fit. If we hooked the rope to anything a bit lower to the ground, my husband and I and our young daughter could fit just fine. Consider getting more than one if your household is larger.*How long-lasting is it, especially the included rope?The tent itself seems to be rather sturdy. It was handled by my two-year-old without ripping, which is impressive. The rope initially seems a little cheap, but when you pull it, it feels quite strong because it is braided much like paracord.*ConclusionSince I rely so largely on reviews when I make purchases, I did receive this product for free in exchange for my frank assessment.
