It works well with the 18" Neewer Ring light that I bought it for. Just for reference, I also have a Sony A5000, Canon T3i, T6i, and 7D. The device is well-built, composed of metal, and has a lovely black finish. Since it isn't particularly large, you should have no trouble transporting it. Having said that, I wouldn't suggest using it for the purpose for which I originally purchased it, which was to use it with one of my cameras and a Rode Mic mounted inside my ring light. No matter what I did, it just sat awkwardly with the mic always in the way.However, I will admit that it would be fantastic for use as an on-camera mount, which is what most people want it for. Just in case someone else desired it for the same reasons I did, I wanted to contribute my two cents.

If your stands already contain a cylinder-shaped female tripod screw, you can remove this one. The spring-powered clamping mechanism of the flash cold shoe. It can be squeezed closer to your flash or trigger. This is especially useful if your trigger is similar to the Yonguo 603 v1, which lacked a screwdown for mounting to a hotshoe. You don't need to worry about anything with this mount because you can tighten the clamp around the trigger to keep it steady.The screw and umbrella hole work properly. At first, I thought they should have used a larger thumb screw, but as time went on, I understood that hollow umbrella shafts can cause you to overtighten the screw. I'm not complaining, then.The adjustment of the angle is delayed. To counteract the friction/click action of the hinge, you must loosen the screw quite a bit. This ensures that the weight of the flash and umbrella won't force the whole device to topple over, even if the screw becomes loose or isn't tightened enough to begin with.Overall, I'm quite pleased with my purchase. The quality of the mount is excellent for the price—in fact, regardless of price.

I bought this to raise my riding microphone so that the wind deflector would not be visible in the shot. It performed as intended. I appreciate that I can add lights to the sides to turn this into a whole vlog unit. Because it is composed of aluminum, it is quite durable.

This item is outstanding.Fortunately, it's an LED lamp with a plexi diffuser, so it's not overly heavy. It simply rotated, it did NOT fall! My only problem is the sticky grip tape on it. It slipped off in the first use, actually causing my entire rig to slide down from 10 feet up! So they ARE quite effective. It worked better without the sticky tape...Note to company: You could possibly just powder coat or spray on "trunk liner" to texture the metal there!

This is exactly what I needed, though I'm still unsure if the system I'm building—using two GoPro Hero 5 Black cameras—with this mount as its basis will actually function and generate a useful left eye/right eye image and/or video track from which to process 3D stereo. Everything hinges on whether both cameras react to voice commands instantly and without lag or delay. But even if it turns out to be impractical, the mount is really nicely crafted and will be useful in any case. Thank you very much.

This two-level splitter functions nicely when mounted on a flash or anything similar. accommodates a shotgun microphone and a second attachment without difficulty (light in the photo). Secure mounting, with the only drawback being that the two higher mounts' fittings are extremely tight. It's not a huge issue, but the maker might have tested it more thoroughly to make mounting it simpler. For this reason, I took away one star from what is otherwise a fantastic, inventive product that works really well for camera or tripod mounts. Recommendable because of the original design!

I recently bought a Zhiyun Smooth Q iPhone gimbal and wanted to add a small light, an external microphone, and a digital audio recorder.
