I bought this so I could check my children's ears as they frequently have ear infections, but when I opened the package and tried it on, I was blown away by how cool it was! I'm trying to think of all the interesting things I could do with it now since it is such a cool toy! There was so much tiny glitter in there that I even held it up to the table's crack in the middle. Look how you can even see the malleus in the photo of the inside of my ear that I'm sharing with you! There were clearer images, but I just hastily took a screen shot of this to share.My kids may or may not let me to examine the inside of their ears when they are ill, but I am hopeful that allowing them to do so would help them relax and regain attention as I do so.

I discovered thousands of affordable, entry-level digital USB microscopes for sale on Amazon throughout my search. After reading numerous reviews, I made the decision to try the Plugable Digital Microscope. Here's what I discovered.I definitely wasn't anticipating "Dino-Lite" quality or performance at the $35 price point, but I must say that I wasn't let down. The Plugable is entirely composed of plastic, although it seems to be manufactured very nicely. Installing the program and setting it up were simple processes. Although the drivers and software are not included, the "quick start" manual does have a link to them. To get the most latest versions, I prefer to download software and drivers.Just plug in the USB connection once the software has been installed and the microscope has been put together on the stand.The software appears to have almost everything you require to make the most of the microscope and is simple to use. You can film or take pictures. There is a button on the camera for taking pictures, but you may also use the software button. I discovered that it was much more advantageous to take images by pressing the button in the program because the microscope is so delicate and may be easily pushed out of place.Truth or fiction?The microscope would offer 10x to 250x magnification, according to the specifications. Since I couldn't find a way to change the magnification, I got in touch with customer care. They informed me that the focus ring and distance between the microscope and the object determine the magnification. You will get "interesting" results, but it is a little perplexing and requires some getting accustomed to. The truth is that you can't possibly guess what magnification you are at.A few images of a quarter taken at various "magnifications" are shown. As I previously stated, all that has to be done is to move the microscope closer to the quarter and adjust the focus. Two focus points will appear if you position the microscope directly on the object and keep turning the focus ring towards the " ." The latter focus point will have the greatest magnification. Hopefully, the pictures will show you what I mean.Overall, this is worth a try if you just want to have some fun and aren't doing any serious research or lab work. It's affordable and entertaining for "kids" of all ages. I'm 63 years old, retired, and constantly seeking new "toys."Regarding a little problem I was having with the software, I did need to get in touch with customer assistance. Sam, the customer support representative, was very understanding and patient with me and worked with me until we came to an acceptable conclusion. This purchase was well worth the incredibly low cost thanks to his excellent customer service!

This is incredible! These images show a little bug. Crispness and incredible detail are both present. To show you how little the beetle was initially, I posted a picture of it with a microscope. I have to start with the cons: the device did not function with the software provided on my PC (and linked through a bitly link). Windows 10 64-bit release 1809 is what I use.I uninstalled the driver that the installer had loaded and let Windows choose the driver. It appeared to fix the device manager's! exclamation point.The Amcap program kept making mistakes.When I searched online, someone suggested utilizing Windows 10's built-in "Camera" program. This worked flawlessly when I tested it.Using the Windows Camera app made the Amcap program work as well. Whatever.Although the device produces photographs with rather poor resolution (640x480) when compared to contemporary digital cameras, it is ideal for the purpose for which I purchased it—examining antique coins.Although this model's functions are somewhat limited, it does have a good adjustable built-in macro light, and the pictures I've taken work well for my purposes.I don't need other USB microscope models that are going for more than $500.I can't seem to get it to display me the complete coin in the viewer, but for $20, I can't really complain too much.

Hi everyone This small demon artifact is really eye-opening. In 2018, I don't use my PC and I have a S9 Android device, therefore it obviously works perfectly. All I had to do was download the "otg view" app from the Google Play store, although playing around a bit won't harm because there are so many other apps. The type C adaptor that came with your phone should always be used when connecting to a GALAXY S8 or later because the one included with this item didn't work with my S9 galaxy android phone. I did feel a little concern, but then I realized I had two originals, just like the ones in the picture. There are two things that I wish it could change: first, the unpleasant requirement that you practically touch the object you want to see, and second, the potential difficulty of turning the rotator to zoom in and out when things start to get serious. Other than that (I used a tiny splash of WD40 and it turns easily), I believe it is a necessity to have for the price, and if you want to discover that some things are hidden because no one is willing to look, don't be lazy and enjoy observing.

I connected it to my computer's USB port, selected "Camera" from the start menu, and it immediately started working. I have a 34" monitor and had a huge full screen image to look at, so forget about using a tiny phone screen.I've never been good at hearing out of my right ear. This tool revealed the hardened wax buildup that I had believed was there in stunning detail. Two enormous boulder-sized lumps were piled one on my eardrum, leaving only approximately a quarter of the drum free. I tried using the plastic scoops that were provided, but it was quite loud just to touch one of the lumps. I'll try soaking them in hydrogen peroxide first, then using an ear flush device that I purchased on Amazon.I picked the lowest setting available because I could see that the LED lights were beginning to heat up, which also improved my view.a really valuable tool to have. I find it hard to believe the purchase price is that low.

This is a review of Carson Optical's MicroBrite Plus 60x-120x (MM-300).For exploring and gardening, the MicroBrite MM-300 is ideal. Although it is small, it is robust and feels lovely and solid.You need to fiddle with it a little bit to achieve the best magnification, and at the highest magnification you will also benefit from remaining motionless. This is true of all the more potent tiny scopes. Over the years, I've used more expensive scopes as well as a few natural light scopes, but this LED light scope is superior to all of them. From bright sunlight to complete darkness, the results are superb.For such a small device, the grasp is extremely ergonomic. The zooming dial must occasionally be adjusted with your non-dominant hand; however, the focusing ring can be operated with the hand currently holding the camera. The LED switch is ideally situated for a rapid thumb press.For those of us who prefer not to use button batteries, this portable is ideal. My local stores frequently run out of the button battery I require, therefore I requested an AA battery device. The single battery is quickly and easily accessible from the battery compartment. (No AA batteries are provided.)To weave in a lanyard thread, there is an indent on top.Unless you tuck it in a cargo-style pocket, it is portable but not exactly pocket-sized. It is twice as thick and about the size of a deck of cards. I carry it in my vest pocket when birding, my gardening apron pocket, or I wear a lanyard around my neck. I use it more frequently when it's on the lanyard simply because it's there. The bottom fact is that numerous Amazon merchants are all selling the exact identical camera. Since this seller at least created their own software for the camera, I personally felt better about them than other sellers after doing a good lot of research on a number of them (much more than the $20 purchase was worth). The other dealers seem to be nothing more than empty warehouses with little genuine interest in their goods. This camera is a wonderful buy if you have a 3D printer (so you can create your own stand) or can find one with a more stable/sturdy stand that was designed and engineered specifically for this use. If not, spend extra money on a device with a better stand because that ostensibly insignificant aspect makes or breaks this product.Why four starsThe actual microscope is better than I would have anticipated for $20. The camera has a relatively poor resolution compared to digital cameras, but it's only $20! The image is clear, it can snap images with a resolution adequate for a camera in this price range, and it is easy to use. It doesn't actually involve much or have many potential pitfalls. The "SNAP" and "ZOOM" button feature, which the maker makes clear is only available in Windows, is not something I can comment on because I don't use Windows, but I have had this microscope take photos and videos from macOS, Linux, and Android. On each of those platforms, it performs as promised.But the stand renders it useless in its current form. The stand is too lightweight and light to hold the camera securely while performing tasks like focusing adjustments. It's simply a poor design. Additionally, having an unstable camera stand renders a camera completely unusable when you need to focus on objects that are only a few hundredths of a millimeter in size.By using a stand and a stronger focusing mechanism that I found on Thingiverse, I was able to make my device useable.This product would either make me really frustrated if I didn't have a 3D printer or I would be returning it to purchase something with a better stand (at a probably higher price). Since I do, I was able to customize it to meet my needs properly, and I'm pleased with the purchase.Note that some of the bad reviews point out a typical misunderstanding of this product. The apparent "zoom" knob is actually a "focus" knob, and the magnification level depends on how far away from the subject the camera is. Zooming causes the lens to move while the camera remains still on a normal digital camera. This "zoom" feature is different since you "zoom" by moving the camera closer to the subject before using the "40X-1000X" knob to focus. The knob's "40X - 1000X" label is misleading because it controls focus, not magnification!

It works well, it's simple to use (both my mother and my 8-year-old kid picked it up very quickly), and it's powerful enough to see things like spirogyra cells, bigger dinoflagellates, and other marine plankton plainly. And, OMG, is that what the fibers of my trousers look like?!One of my current favorite toys is one that I wish I had when I was a biology student in school. This would have cost several hundred dollars, if not more, in the 1980s. Since then, optical technology has advanced significantly, and the MicroFlip is quite astounding given its price.Although we don't frequently use it, the phone option is also nice. You'll need to use your phone's zoom features to make it visible because all it is is a clip that positions your phone's camera over the lens. Although I appreciate the alternative, which is worthwhile and almost practical, the most enjoyment comes from staring directly into the camera (it's wonderful for watching at home with a group of people, ideally other nerds). However, as it is a "field microscope," you obviously want to use it outdoors. If you wish to use the phone option, you can get it to work for classes and camping with a little fiddling.)On the footage, the slide doesn't actually fit that well. In actuality, no slides do. For a field instrument, that is a little inconvenient.However, generally, it has wonderful optical quality, is reasonably priced, has withstood some minor damage, and continues to function properly. I could still replace it for the price of a coffee, lunch, and gas even if I dropped it and lost it forever in some other way.Highly recommended.
