It's a decent torch. It arrived earlier than the seller had predicted, in 3-1/2 weeks. Even with simply MAPP gas, I can get it to operate since it produces a consistent, hot flame that is suitable for silver solder, but it takes some time to warm up and become hot enough for silver solder to flow. I don't like that the ignitor is on the torch handle at the other end of the hose, and that you have to turn on and control the gas flow (and heat of the flame) at the top of the tank connector. If the ignitor and handle were all in one piece with the gas on/off and flow adjustment, the design would be excellent. Toggling the torch head, components, solder, or brazing stick is challenging enough without having to cross the room to adjust the flame on the other end of the hose. However, the flame adjustment is effective and produces a nice, even flame pattern.

For my garage, I was searching for a light-duty set. This was ideal.
