For our vow renewal, we got this big package of rigatoni. Even though I would only have required six boxes, it would have been less expensive for us to get this 12-pack. We would have been eating rigatoni for months, so in the end we merely ended up giving a few unused boxes to family in the week following our ceremony. For years, Barillla has been a family favorite for all kinds of pasta. I decided to save money and purchase in bulk this time rather than "by the box" at the grocery store. These noodles are incredibly, incredibly tiny!I haven't yet cooked anything with them. The flavor will be excellent, as with everything from Barilla, I'm sure! These were meant to top off my pantry-stocked regular supply. I have plenty for a very long time! I just wish they were the big elbows like the ones I still have in my pantry. The size is not indicated anywhere in the description! Well, it's not the end of the world, unfortunately! At least there is lots of delicious spaghetti available (which is more than many others have...)I'll add a picture to this review if I get a chance to update it.

I am aware, however, that not everyone wants to or has the time to make their own pasta. Even though I'm a chef with formal training, there are occasions when I prefer the ease of dried, packaged pasta. Campanelle, also known as gigli, is one of my all-time favorite die cut forms in certain circumstances.A potpourri of ingredients in one pot dishes go well with campanelle since I find it to be robust and very hearty in texture. This texture works well with hearty cream and ragù sauces as well. It keeps well after cooking, even when it has already been coated in sauce.Due to the fact that this batch differs from what Barilla produced in the past, I have deducted one star. It appears and tastes as though the recipe for the pasta dough has been altered or the caliber of the flour used to manufacture the pasta dough has decreased. The pasta is more brittle as a result, as I discovered when I dropped chunks of it onto my marble kitchen countertop. Even while the pasta is cooked al dente and never overcooked, I also noted that some of the individual pastas in this batch did not always maintain their curled-in shape as before.The bell-shaped curls that make up a campanelle's greatest feature are no longer as tightly packed as they once were, causing them to unfurl while boiling. Unfortunately, because of the unfolding that occurs during cooking, there are less nooks and crannies for the sauce to cling to and lock in.Overall, it will work for simple foods that will be consumed at home. Given that campanelle is difficult to get in most supermarkets, I do suggest it. But I still wish Barilla would examine their current recipe. I'm disappointed by the alteration since something seems odd.

I love these noodles! So allow me to explain a few points. Dry lasagna noodle strips come in boxes of sixteen. This is sufficient for one large lasagna. I laid four strips in a circle on the bottom of the pan, overlapping them by about half an inch. In order to position the noodles closer to the dish's sides, I also cut the corners off of the pieces that were placed on the edge. There were therefore four layers of noodles in one package. The first time you use them, it's difficult to conceive how these dry noodles will magically become soft when you bake the lasagna. But they do, and they are delicious! Everyone can now enjoy lasagna without noticing the difference. Enjoy!

Buying this product again. It offers excellent value for the top supermarket pasta available. The Barilla brand still comes in whole pounds, while other brands only offer 12-oz servings. The majority of my earlier recipes called for 1 pound of uncooked pasta. The bowties are the perfect size for dishes with a cream sauce as well as salads. When compared to twirling a longer pasta, like linguine, we prefer being able to stab them with a fork. It comes in a box that is simple to store and stack in the pantry, and I get the right amount of pasta for the amount of sauce!

Pasta is something I've always loved. The only issue I had with it was that, like with Chinese meals, an hour later I was again peckish. Not with this pasta, and as an added benefit, it is a wonderfully healthy option for pasta-loving diabetics. Carbs are present, but they are present in everything. The secret is to consume the proper carbohydrates, and this pasta provides the proper carb with the proper flavour. Other multigrain noodle options that we have tried have been very nasty. Additionally, they altered the sauce's flavor, whereas these do not.
To know when bowtie pasta is done, you can either use the timing guidelines on the package or test the pasta by tasting it. To test the pasta, remove a piece from the pot of boiling water and taste it. The pasta is done when it is tender but still has a slight bite to it.
