If your battery is truly dead, then it cannot be recharged. Once a battery has been completely discharged, the chemical reaction that allows it to hold a charge can no longer take place, and the battery will need to be replaced.
A trickle charger is a great way to keep your car's battery charged and ready to go. However, you should not leave it on all the time. A trickle charger should only be used when you are not able to drive your car for an extended period of time, such as when you are on vacation.
Trickle chargers are designed to be left on a battery for an extended period of time, so there is no need to remove it during the winter.

Unit is current limiting, prevents large current flow and requires less cable thickness
OEM lock: the unit can be locked by the installer to prevent tampering and misuse of the product by the operators. By locking the BB, you secure all previous settings in place and prevent subsequent tampering
4 stage battery charging. The B2B charges batteries between 5-20 times faster than a stand alone alternator
B2B turns on at 13.6V and turns off at 13.3V (x2 for 24V). Thus, does not drain input battery. Regenerative braking mode shall allow the input voltage to drop to 12.2V (x2 for 24V).

The item seemed to want to stay in standby when I originally installed it because I wanted a specific charge profile for my Lifepo4 home battery. For some reason, after using the custom settings for a day or two, it began to function once more and has done so ever since. It's a really smooth install, as other reviewers have said, and I was very impressed that it works so effectively and safely without the need for an ignition relay (although I was prepared to install one, after I observed how well it functioned without one, I decided it would be a wasted effort to install the relay). It feels like a better setup than what I had before that the recommended schematic suggested connecting the negative of my house battery to the negative/chassis ground of the car starting battery. Since the unit seems to warm up quite quickly and is situated in a relatively small space within my vehicle, my only worry will be heat on hot summer days, but we'll have to wait and see what happens when we get there. The biggest drawback of the unit and the reason for 4 stars is that I wish it allowed for digital configuration. I will probably end up spending around $100 on the remote display unit (not offered on Amazon), which enables shut off and reduced power control without requiring me to delve into my electrical setup and fiddle with the awkward buttons. It is absolutely difficult to configure because you have to press the two buttons together and for a specific amount of time (found myself having to use my smartphone timer to accurately time). This would be a big benefit of the Victron buck boost, which was an option I was thinking about, but was approximately 30% more expensive, slightly less powerful, but more adjustable.

A completely dead 18Ah battery is confirmed to be charging at 4.99A by a digital meter, even though the specification calls for a 5A charging current! From fully discharged (battery at 10V) to over 75% charged, the charger continuously delivered 5A current while adjusting voltage as needed. As the no-load voltage got closer to 13V, the current began to decrease and eventually stopped. and remained at zero like it ought to! (Make careful to unplug the charger and the load before measuring the voltage with no load.)It ran warm, which was the one drawback. To the touch, it feels clearly warm but not hot.The battery I'm using is shown here:With nuts and bolts, ExpertPower EXP12180 12 Volt 18 Ah Rechargeable Battery

For the purpose of charging my two Optima blue tops on separate banks, I mounted this on a 2015 Everglades 230cc. One deep cycle battery on one bank and one starter battery on another bank. Others who are using this device to charge four or more batteries may refer to a "bank" of multiple batteries that are connected in series or parallel, which is the traditional definition of the term "battery bank." These were created by NOCO to charge ONE BATTERY per "bank." As defined by NOCO, a "bank" is ONE BATTERY. I realize that's perplexing. Choose the "NOCO 4 bank" charger if you have 4 batteries in a configuration that you would classify as a "typical" "2 bank" setup because they only count one battery as a "bank"!After doing extensive study, I decided to go with this "trickle-charger" over all others, including the Optima model. You have options because it is VERY EASY to install and can be done in any way, including upside down and right side up. It arrived well packaged and with all the directions. To make attaching the power line from your house or dock to this device easier, I advise purchasing the NOCO power port receptacle that mounts on the interior of the boat. It costs roughly $16 when purchased separately. Apart than that, all you need are some basic tools and zip ties.

I got this; there are no instructions, but it is very self-explanatory. I plugged it into a regular 110V completely grounded outlet. The charger made a loud snap, fully shut off, and tripped the breaker. The breaker reset correctly, and the outlet functions as it should, thus there was clearly an internal short circuit in the unit. It burnt itself out right away because plugging it in right now does nothing, the light on it doesn't illuminate, and it never indicates charging when connected to the scooter. I am aware that offshore manufacturing is a gamble, but I truly hope nothing disastrous happens to this item.Revision: June 30, 2017 Merchant got in touch with me about the defective equipment, profusely apologized, and promised to send out a replacement right away. New one arrived and seems to be functioning properly. Because there is a significant difference between this charger and the one that comes with the Pride Mobility 24V mobility scooters, I've changed my rating from one star to four and not five. Although I will still use the OEM for more frequent daily charging, I believe this one is ideal for traveling because it is much lighter and smaller than the OEM one.I appreciate the vendor putting this right.
Overcharging a deep cycle marine battery can shorten its lifespan and decrease its overall performance. When a battery is overcharged, the electrolyte is heated and the lead plates are corroded, which can lead to premature failure.
Yes, you can overcharge a boat battery. This can happen if the charging system is not working properly or if the battery is not properly maintained. Overcharging can damage the battery and reduce its life.
Most marine batteries are lead-acid batteries, and they require a charger that can provide a constant voltage of around 2.3 V per cell. This is higher than what is required for a car battery charger. You can use a car battery charger for a marine battery, but it will take longer to charge the battery.
Yes, a boat battery will charge while running. The alternator on the boat produces electricity that is used to charge the battery.
If your boat doesn't have a built-in charging system, you'll need to use an external charger to keep the battery topped off. You can use a shore power connection, a generator, or a solar panel to charge the battery.
There are a few things you need to consider when choosing a marine battery charger. The first is the type of battery you have. Marine batteries come in two main types: lead-acid and lithium-ion. Lead-acid batteries are the most common type of battery used in boats. They're affordable and have a long lifespan, but they're also heavy and require more maintenance than lithium-ion batteries. Lithium-ion batteries are more expensive, but they're lighter and require less maintenance. The second thing to consider is the size of the battery charger. The size of the
