This ball performs precisely what it promises to do: it keeps the rope raised out of the water on boats with low tow points and lessens water spray in the riders' eyes who are being towed. Then, after spending money on a Big Mable (two-rider) tube that I could never get out of the wake, my adult sons—five of whom are above the age of 23—would prefer anchor and swim than tubing behind a pontoon.Then "the ball" (as we refer to it) arrived! Due to two factors—first, it has significantly decreased, and second, riders are too preoccupied trying to stay on the tube (remember those five sons?—to care about rope spray). They now expend a lot of time and effort climbing back up the tube, LOL! Turn the zipper around 180 degrees so that the water is pulling the zipper up rather than the water movement unzipping (or zipping down) the zipper; that sounds like plain logic to me! I've had no problems whatsoever getting it to unzip; just be careful how you attach it.Really, I've seen folks gripe about the size. It takes less than 2 minutes to deflate when you bring it into the boat, but you need be careful with the valve because the inner bladder may slide and it may be difficult to find the valve to re-inflate it. I hold onto the valve until it is completely deflated and folded up. If you want to use it again, take out your 12v air pump (such as the Airhead AHP 12v High Output air pump), and presto, it will be full in less than three minutes. It takes up very little space when we store it underneath our tiny corner seat cushion on the pontoon with our ropes.Since we bought the pontoon, this was the best buy we've made. makes using a pontoon for tubing feasible and the tubes as thrilling and enjoyable as they are intended to be! I bought this tube to replace one that was distorted (bloated) in the middle and was of the lay-down style. When I purchased this, there was just one review. Nevertheless, I took a chance, and so far, the price and the risk were both worthwhile:). Here are the things I discovered while using Mable.First survival tip: When the sea is extremely turbulent due to boat/pwc activity, this contraption may gain some serious air (5 feet!) (on the 4th of July weekend for example). Until the rider dismounts, this is extremely nice. So here's some experience-based advice: If you receive a lot of air, ***LET GO***! Yes, it may appear that holding on for dear life is what you should do. But here's something to think about: if you hang on, one of two things will happen: either you'll be ejected after the hit or you'll suffer from significant whiplash. When they held on, our riders had some severe landings and ejections, but they were fine if they let go in mid-air. You might want to let your rider(s) know if you won't be giving them a flat ride and plan to catch a lot of air.Second survival advice: Mable is a multi-purpose towable. Mable is able to fly, tip, and flip! While Mable may appear non-flippable (and hence bottom-heavy), if you whip the tube out wide and quickly enough (i.e., at a boat speed of roughly 20 MPH), you could lose your rider (s). Aside from riders colliding sometimes while riding the tube, I don't believe we experienced any injuries from tipping or flipping.Survival Tip #3: Our boat wasn't powerful enough to start Mable with adult riders and in the "chariot" (kneeling) position unless the riders leaned back. Therefore, when starting out in the chariot position, advice number three is to LEAN BACK. The cyclist can then easily settle in after that. As a side note, Mable nosedived in the "lounge" position when we had a single rider and were traveling between 10 and 15 mph. She might occasionally drag or overturn in the absence of a rider, generally when the boat slowed from lower speeds of between 10 and 15 mph.General Information: We didn't need to re-inflate Mable after the initial inflation because she stays inflated very well and switching her position is quite simple.The skin of the rider(s) may chafe from the handles and padded places. Wear long pants when kneeling if you want to give your skin the most protection possible. Since normal bikinis could ride up while you're seated, longer bottoms might also be a smart choice. For lengthy rides, gloves could be a good idea to prevent blisters.—-The Big Mable is a fantastic tube all around. It is quite entertaining, handles all types of riders, and has kept up well (almost three months with at least two weeks of hard use/abuse). When you take off, if someone leans forward, it will attempt to dive underwater. will put a lot of strain on the seams!Even though there is space for 4, no more than 3 adults are permitted. If you do, the stitching will rip, and you will only receive one season.I had to send mine back twice because of ripped seams!It will last if you treat it nicely.Great fun! Very difficult to flip, allowing you loads of air without Wipeouts!Three adults, unless they are light, is pushing it; two adults is fine. You can push the limits as long as you have good pulling skills; avoid unexpected jerks from the rope's slack to avoid whiplash and/or mable tears. Slack rope jerks are not advised because these larger rafts are so heavy.The middle person could get elbowed in the head or eye if two big persons are on the edges and a little guy is in the middle.However, having two large guys on either end does tend to stabilize it.Another word of advice is to "pay attention" when lifting somebody out of the water and watch out for any forward leaning that could submerge the mable. As a result, the pull will increase dramatically, causing the seams to rip.One extra precaution: if you want it to endure for years, don't store it in the sun; brief exposure is fine, but don't leave it on the dock all summer; continuous sun exposure is bad for even ski ropes!Otherwise, it's wonderful fun to be out there with others at the same time, whether you're taking a leisurely river cruise or tearing up the waves. If your timing and speed are right, you might even get some excellent air off other boats!I've had two of them and am thinking about switching to another brand. Since the initial introduction of the carbon and fiberglass variants, I had been considering buying one of these, but the cost of those older models discouraged me from taking the chance on a novel watersports toy that I may or may not like. I soon purchased one after learning that they had released a new model that was more affordable for the majority of people. This is a TON of fun. Since I live in the Pacific Northwest, where the waters are much darker and more turbid than the pristine tropical waters shown in all of Subwing's promotional videos, I was initially very skeptical. It seemed that visibility would be a real limiting factor and that it would be simple to hit an object or hurt myself in our emerald waters. Not at all! The Subwing is towed at far slower rates than films would have you believe, yet it is still incredibly sensitive. (On the boat, we were traveling at a speed of around 4mph, which was peaceful and laid-back enough for passengers to enjoy their own conversations and a drink.) It seems to move more quickly underwater, but not uncontrollably so. I can also confirm that it operates successfully from tiny fishing boats. Every time I've ridden it, whether in the murky waters of the Puget Sound or in a few different lakes, it's been a blast! It is simple to maintain and requires no storage (Just taking the swivel apart from the wings and rinsing everything.). Everyone who appreciates being on the water should have one of these in their watersports collection, in my opinion.In order to prevent the Subwing lines from twisting up after multiple barrel rolls, I do hope Simon and his crew would sell some form of stainless/titanium swivel to place between the tow rope and the lines. And ideally with a quick-attaching clip like a "carabiner." [While this is by no means a problem because you can simply roll the other way, it would be a good choice as I seem to have a bias toward rolling clockwise for some reason...] Amazing product, however; many thanks, Subwing team!

Good, however I wish the air stem/plug on the side chambers (the buns) was better. The interior valve (the clear rubber flap) of the ones they use is so tight that I had to prod it inwards with a long, slender filling attachment in order to let the air in, which was quite sluggish. The flap shouldn't be as tight because a low pressure, large volume pump is typically used for something like this. Additionally, the needle leaks air briefly after being pulled out as a result of overuse.However, once they were full, the kids had a blast! Although it won't actually skate across the water as a tube does, it is nevertheless a lot of fun for younger children (or older adults) who simply want to stay on the damn thing.It's fairly sizable and challenging to store on an 18-foot boat. But deflation is rather simple. So that it can be rolled up, it's a good thing they put all the valves on the same side.Additionally, the youngsters enjoyed playing on it without being dragged. Games like "King of the Hill," etc. The price was excellent at far under two hundred, and the exterior vinyl coating appears to be fairly sturdy! The following one will be a flat, steerable type so that the more aggressve kids can skate it out of the boat's wake. I don't need extra stuff in my tiny boat, but several Amazon reviews claimed that one of those large air balls you put in the middle works to send the hot dog backward, so maybe we'll try that!

The tube is excellent value for the price but does not include a quick connect piece. We purchased a quick connect piece since we thought we would need one, but owing to the weight of the connector, it dragged through the water horribly and effectively drowned the rider with the amount of splash back to the face. We finally looped the rope through the tube's end, which reduced the quantity of water splashing the rider's face. So save your money and skip the quick connect component unless you already have one of those enormous balls that goes around your rope.We have riders at 230 lbs riding it with no issues because the tube itself is of exceptional quality. The seam of the tube itself will eventually start to press on the back of the upper thighs, creating some redness and irritation, hence the rating of 4 stars. Keep your bottom out of the tube; the water is painful!

I only awarded four instead of five stars because, as other reviewers have noted, the tube periodically wants to "dive." I used it with my 6- and 8-year-old children, and they had a great time (yes, we made the kids relocate to the back). Even though the 6-year-old has some trouble getting back on the tube after falling off, she was still determined to ride! She seemed to enjoy "falling off," in a way. The tube had little trouble towing the two children simultaneously. Although I was unable to see two teenage children on the tube at the same time, I could see that there was more than enough room for them to do so.

Many folks who weren't into wakeboarding or wakesurfing went boating with us. We went on a hunt to see what was available after they stated they would attempt it provided we had a towable. We made the decision to try the Airhead Mach 2 and we couldn't be happier. This summer, we've had it out on the water a number of times, and everyone has enjoyed it. Both Mom and Dad and the 20-something kids rate this five stars. It inflates easily, tows smoothly, and was simple to figure out because we have never owned a towable before. I wanted a towable that could hold two persons while still being stable and used by one person. Both goals are achieved by doing this. It comfortably accommodated both my 190-pound 6-foot spouse and a 6-foot, 170-pound young man. We've also hauled it with two lean adult ladies, but we've never towed any younger children. We've also pulled it with just one person, and sitting in the middle by yourself is comfortable and the vehicle maintains a good balance. Make careful to firmly and completely inflate it. When we inflated it the second time, it was much more comfortable to ride than when we left it a little softer the first time.
