You can use a tubing cutter on PVC, but you need to be careful. The cutter can cause the PVC to crack if it's not sharp enough.
Pipe cutters are handheld tools that score and cut through metal pipes. They are used to cut pipes to a desired length or shape. Pipe cutters can cut through pipes that are up to 2 inches in diameter.
There are many different types of pipe cutters, each with a different name. The most common type of pipe cutter is the rotary pipe cutter. This type of pipe cutter uses a rotating cutting wheel to cut through the pipe. Other types of pipe cutters include the hand-held pipe cutter, the bench-top pipe cutter, and the hydraulic pipe cutter.
There are four main types of cutting tools: turning tools, milling tools, drilling tools, and saws. Each type of tool is designed for a specific purpose and has its own advantages and disadvantages. Turning tools are used to create smooth, cylindrical shapes. They are typically made of high-speed steel or carbide and have a sharp cutting edge. Milling tools are used to create flat surfaces, slots, and grooves. They are usually made of carbide or high-speed steel and have a variety of cutting edges. Drilling tools are used

For a boat job, I needed to cut some heavy-walled stainless steel tubing, but I required a cleaner, straighter cut than a hacksaw could deliver. This device was the ideal solution. It is quite well manufactured and, as stated in the description, uses bearings in place of the usual rollers on the side opposite the cutting wheel. Because the cutter stays almost perfectly perpendicular to the tubing, the cut is exceptionally straight. But be careful—if you don't let the cutting wheel get a good first bite on the tubing, it will trace a spiral around the tube. Because I first did not take an aggressive enough "bite" on the tube, this began to happen to me. The second time I started the cut, I aggressively clamped down on the tube, which helped the cutter stay in its "track." To cut through the thick tubing, it took around 5 rotations. The cut was really clean, requiring only a small amount of emery cloth cleanup to eliminate the inner burr. I used this tool to make four separate cuts, and the last one performed just as well as the first. Another thing to note is that the capacity is listed as 1-3/8" on the Ridgid website, although Amazon's description claims it can take tubing up to 1-1/8". The latter figure is accurate; it handled my 1-1/4" diameter tube with ease.

I detest doing plumbing work, and I discovered that using cheap, China-made tools added to my annoyance. Since switching to well-made tools, however, my frustration has decreased and the quality of the products has significantly increased. This massive tubing cutter is good-looking and functional. I think the extra cost is well worth the expenditure because I appreciate the Ridgid brand.

I bought these cutters to go along with the rigid 32920 tubing cutter that I also bought. For years, I used a Craftsman tubing cutter, but I needed replacement cutters. My local Sears store was closing and informed me that my tubing cutter was no longer in use (They Neglected To Tell Me That Lowes Bought Out Craftsman...Nice Guys). I guess. It turns out that my old Craftsman brand tubing cutter is compatible with the rigid E-3469 cutters I bought. I now possess two lovely tubing cutters. Thanks.....BUSTER

Despite the fact that I shop on Amazon frequently (or perhaps because of it), I don't write many reviews anymore, but I spent a good portion of the day gushing to my husband about this product. In order to create the RV bunk ladder the proper height, I required something to cut the metal pipe. I've previously cut PVC pipe, but not metal. After reading the reviews, I choose to use this application. I didn't check the dimensions before I bought it, so when it arrived, I was a little shocked by how little it was. However, I rubbed my fingertips.I took the ladder and its 3/4" metal pipe out, then I took the pipe cutter out. I studied the guidelines, marked the pipe where I intended to make the cut, and then I set to work.To adequately tighten the circular rolling metal blade against your mark, you simply screw the aperture down. After that, you turn the clamp (the cutter) in a circle so that the rolling blade circles the pipe several times. You tighten it again and keep rolling as the rotation gets easier. This procedure is repeated until the pipe has been cut through. The cut was quite clean, and it didn't take too long. I truly had fun cutting the metal pipe because it was my first time. Although the clamp is little, it is very powerful. When I was finished, I stored it by screwing it down. The metal blade is secured and out of the way once it has been fully screwed down. I have no qualms about keeping it in the RV's tool drawer. All I need now are more chances to cut metal pipe.

Purchased this in order to run brand-new brake lines on a project vehicle in preparation for a significant project. This tiny gem saved the day before I even started since I had to make an urgent repair to the oil feed pipe for my furnace. Before flaring ends and attaching the end fittings, a clean, simple cut required very little attention. Being small makes it possible to make precise cuts in confined spaces. highly suggestable

I only found this gadget to be quite useful with pipes up to 3/4" in diameter. When cutting 1" diameter copper pipe in a small space with a wall opened up on only one side, I discovered that anything larger causes the tool to roll off. However, it took me a while to try to cut a full circle with the pipe positioned halfway through a 3" wide stud wall. Nevertheless, I was still able to cut 1" pipe. I still think Ridgid is the best plumbing equipment. especially with their pipe-bending equipment. I own five RIDGID pipe cutting tools and a RIDGID pipe bender that can also bend steel. They are excellent instruments, and replacement parts are easily accessible, so you can always maintain your equipment functioning properly for many years to come. Some are built in China and the USA, but I've never had a problem with Chinese-made equipment. Only what you receive is charged. Quality is remembered much longer than price is! Ridgid is a reliable brand.

Most likely, the major purpose of this equipment is to cut softer tubing used in plumbing and other applications. I used it to cut the mountain bike fork's extremely tough steerer tube. It made a good, clean cut, however keep in mind that it took me roughly 15 minutes of spinning this cutter (tightening it very gently) until it eventually cut all the way through. It's not a simple chore; my hands and arms hurt from the effort. Yes, it will accomplish the task, but I'm not sure if the cutting wheel will remain sufficiently sharp to cut anything else in the future (not that I'll need this instrument again). Now that I think about it, I'll probably donate this to my neighborhood tool lending library. I saved $10 by doing this instead of making an appointment at my neighborhood bike shop, and it felt good to complete the entire task by myself. And yes, it is possible to install a new star nut in your new fork as well; YouTube videos exist that will lead you through the procedure without the need for specialist equipment.

The Sharkbite PEX tubing cutter is great. In reality, I use it to cut weed trimmer string, rubber hose, gasoline line, and a variety of other materials that fit inside the cutting region. It cuts straight and cleanly. The hand grip is comfortable, and cutting the PEX doesn't require excessive force. PEX can be cut with various tools just like other materials and objects may be cut with the PEX cutter. To use Sharkbite Fittings successfully, your PEX must have a nice square cut. This PEX tubing cutter will cut the PEX as well as a few other items if you use it properly. It's a useful tool, but use it wisely. Take care of your cutting tool because if you cut something that dulls the blade, it won't cut the PEX as readily as it should.

cutters for 1", 3/4", and 1/2". These are excellent for developing hand and forearm strength as well as cutting in difficult-to-reach areas. These seem a little bit more durable to me than the Milwaukee version. Although they don't cut as consistently as the Rigid 101, they also don't need to be adjusted. I advise purchasing a set of three cutting blades and storing them under the cover. They use blades more quickly than others, but it is a fair exchange for the convenience and time savings. tools of expert quality.
There are two methods of cutting a tube: the first is to use a sharp knife to score the tube along its length, then snap it in two; the second is to use a saw to cut through the tube.
There are two types of pipe cutters: the ratchet cutter and the wheel cutter. The ratchet cutter is the more common type and is used for cutting pipes made of soft materials such as PVC. The wheel cutter, on the other hand, is used for cutting pipes made of harder materials such as metal.
There are many types of pipe cutters, but the two most common are the ratcheting pipe cutter and the cutting wheel pipe cutter. The ratcheting pipe cutter is the more popular of the two because it is easy to use and can be used on a variety of different materials. The cutting wheel pipe cutter is more expensive but is better for cutting thicker materials.
Tube cutters are used for cutting tubes. They are usually made of metal and have a cutting blade that is rotated around the tube to be cut. The blade cuts through the tube and severs it into two pieces.
There are a few different ways that you can cut a piece of tubing. You can use a saw, a knife, or a pair of scissors.
