In anticipation of the birth of our first child, my wife and I debated car seats for weeks. Numerous other seats and setups, including those from Chicco, Graco, and other well-reviewed brands, were "popular" (best-sellers). It is simple to purchase an all-in-one kit from several brands that includes both a car seat and stroller. For some people, it would be ideal, but since we are a little more picky, we ultimately chose the Britax B-Safe 35 Elite car seat and City Mini GT stroller. This base and seat are simple to use and give the child a deeper seat that we felt was more protecting. The fact that Britax is created in the US makes buying it feel good. To put the Britax in the CMGT stroller, a cheap converter is needed, however it is definitely worth it. The only internet reviews I could locate for this new model were from customers who received the goods for free. Here is my typical customer review. I will also draw parallels to the ordinary Snugride click connect 35 model because we are expecting our second child in May and used it with our first child (produced in 2013). I did purchase this on sale for $60 off, making it a fantastic price at $112 including tax.With this new carseat base, Graco truly outdid themselves. You can either a) thread the seatbelt across it and through the holes on the SnugLock 35 base, or b) thread the latch strap across it and down through the holes. The base features a little middle arm that is easy to hoist up. The front of the latch straps also include a fantastic, simple-to-open/close storage case, where it is recommended that you keep the carseat instruction booklet. Anyhow, after fastening the seatbelt or latch straps to the vehicle, you may quickly lower the arm and lock it with a click by putting it down. This serves as a lockoff, preventing the strap from moving and ensuring a particularly tight, solid base installation. Because there was no lock off when the seatbelt or latch strap was inserted through the holes in the base, the older Click Connect 35 base proved a little difficult to install. To get the straps tight, you have to pull SO HARD, which, let's face it, is often impossible. The base would then continue to move around beneath the straps. Therefore, this feels 100 times safer and better.The LATCH straps' hook attachments are less desirable than the button-style ones. The "fancier" 35 versions (LX, DLX, Elite, Platinum), which you may upgrade to, I believe have the 1 button release attachments. I don't see it as a make-or-break situation, especially given the sale price, and I didn't think the latch hooks were worth an extra $100.In addition, the base's recline position adjustment is different from that of the now-outdated click connect base. The small red dial on the front has been replaced with a handle that you squeeze up, and if necessary, a plastic "ramp" piece emerges from the bottom to steepen the inclination. With this new snuglock model, it's considerably simpler than the old base and unquestionably a nicer feature.Compared to our old snugride click connect 35, the seat itself feels a little nicer. The exterior materials have a lovely feel to them, but for some reason the seat material feels more "rough," like the fabric from their earlier models. Other than the fact that the rougher fabric appears to be water and stain resistant, which is helpful when you have a kid in there, I'm not sure why they chose to have 2 different fabric kinds, especially the rougher one where the child sits. The premium variants, however, may feature a softer, more contemporary fabric covering the entire seat.The newborn insert is different; it is flatter and has only side pads rather than padding that wraps around the baby's head. However, compared to the earlier 35 insert, it feels thicker and like it has more "substance." It's not as thick or padded as the inserts in the newer deluxe models. However, after doing some study, I honestly don't think these newborn inserts contribute much to accident safety; instead, I believe they merely provide parents peace of mind and aid in positioning the child in the car seat. Therefore, this insert serves that role and is a small upgrade over the insert from an earlier model.Excellent and lightweight weight. The infant seat weighs 7.5 lbs, which is around the lighter end of baby seat weights. The snugride 40 and the Britax B safe that I purchased weigh 10 pounds each. They seemed so much heavier, and I immediately discounted them because I couldn't carry that kind of weight around all the time.The inside seat cloth and the canopy are both made of a rougher fabric. Even so, it's not as harsh as my 35-year-old fabric. Sorry, I'm not familiar with textile terminology! However, the elite version's canopy felt really beautiful, soft, thin, and expensive to me when I felt it in the store. This is unquestionably a very different (cheaper) fabric. Additionally, this canopy glides a little more awkwardly than the previous design. You have to move it around and somewhat "battle" with it to get it to go up and down. It makes a stronger click sound. Because the former canopy moved much more smoothly and didn't have audible clicks, I consider it to be a downgrade. For whatever reason, they chose to "scrimp out" on this canopy even though the deluxe models also have a smooth-gliding canopy without the clicks. It's probably the aspect of this carseat that I like least. Although this canopy DOES stretch further than the earlier 35 model, getting past the handle can be difficult.It requires two hands to move the handle since the red buttons on either side must be pushed. Since I have terrible coordination and this is not a problem for me, it's really not that horrible. Though again, I don't think that function is worth an extra $100. I believe that more luxury models have a one-handed design with the button in the middle of the handle. With the exception of occasionally needing to lift the canopy out of the way, the handle moves easily.Standard harness straps are used for the straps. The deluxe models include a no-re-thread function, however this harness DOES require re-threading. It should be noted that since you can simply take an infant carseat off its base to access the back, it isn't a big concern. The no re-thread harness is excellent for convertible carseats, especially when your child is facing forward, as doing so makes it extremely difficult to access the back to adjust the straps (having to uninstall the whole seat). Although the no-rethread feature is good, it's a touch overkill on the baby seat and not really worth spending extra for as you don't need to uninstall anything to use the infant seat. Rethreading the straps is not difficult and the straps come out easily.Some seats are quite difficult to tighten and adjust, however this one is easy and smooth to pull the crotch strap. The only feature of the Graco seats that I don't like is that you have to reach the button to release the crotch strap by sticking your finger through the opening left by the extra material on the strap. Since it's buried, it's not at all intuitive. When someone else (like grandma) takes the infant, I constantly need to remember to remind them to tighten the straps. You still have to wriggle your finger about to find the metal button to press down. I sincerely hope that new models will include this capability.Unexpectedly, this seat also includes the tiny strap coverings for carseats. They have a slight perk and are velvety. They weren't present in the previous 35-seater.Overall, I heartily endorse this chair. Although I've seen it on sale at a few stores for a little less than its regular retail price of $159, I would definitely recommend the new snuglock base over the previous click connect base because it is a fantastic improvement.

Much improved than the subpar base that was included with our SnugRide Click connect 35 in 2014! When I came found this product on this website, I was almost ready to purchase a completely new car seat system. We can now use my daughter's old car seat with baby number two without worrying about it moving around in the rear seat thanks to the $300 I've saved! Even after using the original base in many different cars and pulling it as tightly as we could, it continued to slide or wiggle beyond the suggested one inch. This base secures both that car seat and the Britax car seat we use for my child. If you are encountering the same difficulty with a compatible car seat, I STRONGLY advise simply upgrading your base!

I feel bad for parents whenever I watch them battling to remove their car seat from the car and secure it to the stroller base, or, god forbid, to transfer their infant from the car seat into the stroller (and mentally gloat, tbh).My car seat transforms into a stroller when I get out of the car, and I then proceed. Because it was difficult to choose between them and I couldn't find enough comparisons, I purchased both this model and the DLX. Just to clarify, I chose this model even though I am still pregnant and cannot yet tell how my unborn child would respond to the head surround components. I'll buy the DLX again if he does experience problems with it.Comparatively speaking, the Elite's canopy was HUGE and extended farther than that of any other carseat. I enjoy the notion of not having to cover my kid while it's hot outside in order to protect it from the summer sun's glare. In addition, I enjoy the zip-down portion of the rear vent. The drawback is that it doesn't extend all the way to the handle. I was concerned that this would bother me, but if you have it in the normal setting (not zipped all the way down), there is space for your hand to wrap around the handle.On the elite, the canopy is made of a material that is more water-resistant, but it also makes shifting it into position sound more like a "swish swish". Although the DLX is quieter and more comfortable to drive, I believe the elite will fare better in wind, rain, and snow. The DLX canvas material resembles polyester more (think athletic shirt material).The Elite handle's ergonomic feel appeals to me, whereas the DLX's button is located just beneath your grip, making it less comfortable.I particularly enjoy that the Elite Shoulder Harness features a simple button that slides up and down, eliminating the need to rethread it. Additionally, using the crotch button is simpler than it was with the DLX.It's unfortunate that the safety surrounds aren't detachable in case your baby doesn't like them or they don't fit. Although I'm concerned about it, I believe generally the advantages exceed the disadvantages.

I wish I had this infant car seat for my first child when I bought it for my second! There probably won't be a better car seat in this price range, in my opinion (especially if purchased with an Amazon Prime registry discount). I'll simply mention that it was difficult to use the seat and base that came with our initial graco stroller travel system. We had to insert a pool noodle below one side because the base could not be adjusted. When we were putting our son in and out of the seat, the straps had to be manually tightened at the back because there was no front pull to tighten them. We wrapped his head in rolled-up blankets because the newborn insert was worthless. Both hands were needed to adjust the handle. Even though it was annoying every time, we continued to use it until we switched to a convertible seat after about 9 to 10 months. I was resolved to buy something nicer this time.All of those qualities and more are the complete opposite of this seat! The cloth itself is soft and supportive, the handle only needs one hand to lift and lower it, the straps adjust easily, and the base can be adjusted to ensure the seat is absolutely level. This seat looks upscale thanks to the gorgeous canopy. Plus, it fits with our previous stroller as well! I guess I didn't realize what we were lacking in the past. Before making this purchase, I looked at a lot of infant car seats. Without a doubt, for the price, this is a terrific option, and I am extremely satisfied.

When you push down rather firmly, the infant adaptor for my older Bob double jogger stroller fits this older model, which I ordered to test. Since the updated version of the adapter to fit the current graco models would have cost me at least $80, I can live with this. If you know anything about bob strollers, you know that neither the stroller nor the accessories are inexpensive. We haven't used the seat yet because my baby is still on the way, but it's relatively simple. For young infants, there isn't a lot of padding or head support, which I hope to fix with inserts. The floral canopy with coral piping is quietly lovely and girly, and the black should be useful in covering the inevitable stains. This seat reminds me of the one I used with my first two kids (out of almost four), which, if my memory serves me correctly, worked well with big, heavy, dense boys until it was time to switch to an upright seat. I can't yet comment on how easy it will be to wash or whether the straps will chafe. The seat is lightweight, which is advantageous if you don't have a strong upper body, keeping in mind that by the conclusion of its use, I'll be carrying a baby weighing over 20 pounds. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase and thrilled that it latches into the adaptor, since that was my main worry, second only to safety of course.
