I purchased these in order to create Wonder Woman-themed tutus and skirts for some orders I had to fulfill. I therefore purchased them in the hopes that I could attach them to the tulle and make it work.Therefore, the tutus worked perfectly with some hot glue. They didn't stray away. I simply adhered them to the skirt and then used iron to strengthen the bond.

This stocking is quite cute and has many of little embellishments. This was my first effort at a needle point project, and I thought the directions were extremely clear and simple to understand. Additionally, the embroidery is fairly easy to accomplish, which I'm sure helped.The black felt that the bears are made of, which is my only concern about this stocking kit, was a little too thin and occasionally tore as I was appliqueing it to the stocking. I ran out of white embroidery thread while making this stocking, which may have happened because I used more than I should have because I'm still learning or because there wasn't enough of it. I'm not certain which.Overall, a fantastic stocking! To maintain the stocking in good condition for a very long time, I would suggest purchasing some plain fabric to line the front of the stocking and washing it down with hairspray or a cornstarch and water solution before you begin working with it.

The kit has my highest recommendation! It is a lovely stocking with simple directions. While doing this, I enjoyed watching TV and listening to music. The only problems I had with the kit were ones I brought about. Some sutures that I botched had to be redone. I should have paid closer attention to the directions as well. You will be alright if you take the time to get ready and educate yourself on these kits.I strongly advise reading some websites with instructions on how to finish the kits to reduce the learning curve. Although it's not strictly necessary, doing this will help you learn from others' mistakes. I'm delighted I did since I believe that my final product will endure longer. For instance, I doubled the needle and used two pieces of thread rather than one to sew on the bead or sequin. By "double stitch," I mean that after sewing the sequin or bead onto the stocking, I went back and re-threaded the same item to secure it twice. This should ensure that the sequins or beads stay on the stocking for many years and withstand typical wear and tear. Because I thought the name would have appeared thin otherwise, I used all 6 strands of thread when I sewed the name at the top of the stocking. I used more strands than called for in the instructions, which resulted in faster thread usage. I bought extra thread on Amazon because I had read on several different blogs that this would happen. Although I had the option of buying through Bucilla, I was able to obtain thread on Amazon that perfectly matched the colors.I began to get the hang of it as I worked on the stocking. You just need to read the directions and take your time; it's a really easy process. Rushing will only lead to mistakes, I promise. There were a few little details about the stocking that I did not like, so I bought extra felt to make a few minor changes. This is a matter of taste and is in no way required! The stocking looks lovely as is. All I wanted to do was adjust it.Make sure you give yourself enough time to finish a stocking if you choose to make one. These kits appear to be simple, but they take a lot of effort to complete. It took me about a month and a half to complete the stocking, though I didn't work on it nonstop. It takes time to read the directions, cut out the parts, secure them, and, in my opinion, the longest procedure of them all, sew on the sequins or beads (they have a few wrinkles from being folded in the packing). Despite underestimating how long it would take, I had a lot of fun sewing this stocking. Every stocking I make will go to my nieces and nephews. I'll keep buying additional thread, stuffing, and felt in the future, and I'll start the kits much earlier so I don't have to rush to finish them by Christmas.

My tenth Bucilla stocking kit is this one. This is an easy design that is suitable for a novice or if you don't have much time.The directions are really simple. Before beginning, thoroughly read the instructions. Don't be alarmed by the embroidered instructions. There are many helpful videos on YouTube.Be prepared. One of the images I've included is of a coffee cup tree that I also purchased from Amazon and used to hang my scissors. I also suggested placing the tree on a Lazy Susan so that smaller items would be easily accessible. The slacker Susan also made an Amazon purchase. I adore this notion.I now complete the same color of sequence in one go to save time. Purchasing a felt square to set beads and sequins on is a fantastic idea when working with them. keeps them in position when the needles are applied.I also give it my own spin. As an illustration, the first stocking I made included Santa carrying a doll with blonde hair, but since my granddaughter has brown hair, I purchased brown yarn and gave the doll long braids. Additionally, for the name, I use a "free" font I found online, cover the letters on my laptop screen with paper, and then trace them.Advanced: I cut all the parts, as you can see in the third image. I then arrange them as directed by the instructions. I continue by applying adjacent parts.Enjoy!!!

Although I haven't finished this one completely, I feel like I'm near enough to offer my review. Since this is my sixth Bucilla stocking, the procedure and instructions are very familiar to me. However, if this is your first one, be aware that it takes a lot of time to complete and can be very annoying if your thread becomes knotted. This one was a little frustrating because a lot of the pieces were WAY bigger than the area you were supposed to sew them onto. As a result, you can see that some of my parts appear a little odd; this may have simply been a printing issue. I've included a couple pictures of my unfinished stocking so you can see what it looks like. Overall, I believe creating them is a lot of fun and a wonderful way to give someone you care about a personalized gift! Worth the time and effort without a doubt.

Stunning stocking. The instructions need to be adjusted because they state to appliqué and embroider before adding sequins, which I did not do exactly. To avoid difficulty, the applique and sequins should be completed first, and then each piece should be attached. There are some steps missing. Since felt is neither robust or sturdy, I will probably use some sort of backing to make the stocking more durable. I think it was fun to do and pretty! Use shorter thread pieces as it has a tendency to tangle. My first kit is this one.

First off, I've finished four of these for my eight grandkids and four children. By the time I finished the fourth one, I had significantly reduced the amount of time required by making a few changes.1. Collect numerous embroidery needles; keeping a single color of thread on a single needle saves a lot of time. I kept the various needles and colors of thread taped to a strip of hefty paper. This saves time by avoiding the need to constantly change thread because the extremely small eye sewing needle required to attach beads is challenging to thread.2. Before you begin the project, sew the same sequin color on all the pieces, such as all white sequins, all gold sequins, etc. Do not cut out items; instead, simply sew sequins and beads onto uncut sections. However, I did semi-cut out all Santa, train, stocking, and other related stuff and kept them all together.3. Finish as much stitching as you can in advance; if possible, stitch all the rust, all the gray, etc.4. Get a piece of red felt to attach the pockets onto, as other people have mentioned. Each row was sewn on horizontally by machine (although it could have been done by hand), and the vertical 3-strand white embroidery stitch was sewn on by hand afterwards. The first calendar I created, I neglected to accomplish this, and struggled mightily to figure out how to prevent the things from slipping out of the bottom because the pocket's bottom wasn't attached.5. Three of my children preferred the starry-sky-like dark blue piece affixed at the top, but one preferred the more traditional design. The blue piece completes the aesthetic and improves the way it hangs. If you add a blue piece at the top, the rigid white piece from the kit will almost completely cover the back. To cover the entire back 6, I had to cut a tiny piece and sew it on the bottom. The kit's inclusion of duplicate pocket components annoyed me. Who can enjoy that? I then created 12 additional Christmas pocket pieces. I provided images of the ones I produced. I created three angels for my three grandkids and stitched their names on the bottom. Two grandkids each received a round red and green elf piece with their names embroidered on it and a piece of fabric of the appropriate color on the back. My three older grandkids each chose a penguin, an elf, and a snow globe as their own special item. A Christmas advent calendar is incomplete without Santa Claus, the snowman, Rudolf, a stocking, a wreath, etc. I made a block M teddy bear because my family is from the University of Michigan. I used Pinterest to find inspiration for ALL of those designs.Put your creative flare to use and customize a few items. The back of the calendar also bears my signature and date.7. Others have mentioned that this takes time, and it does! I hope my grandkids will take pleasure in this for a very long time to come and that it will become a part of their Christmas customs.
