This is incredibly sturdy and constructed of metal. The wood is securely fastened by the strong torx screws. They served as the complete railing's floor support, not the rail beam. Since it is little, it really fits very flush with the 2x4's width (which is about 1.5"). Definitely would purchase again.Please take note that I utilized a different product for the rail beam. When compared to the product I used, which fastens to the railing beam first, this one must be mounted on the columns or posts before the railing beam is installed. Nicely Done.

Since they were separated from the deck at the bottom, I had assumed that I could put these onto the posts from there, but the posts couldn't be slipped on from the top.The framework under the deck boards made it impossible to slip these on due to the flare...It's too bad since the deck post bottoms are quite chewed up from having to remove the nails from the post bottoms to slide the deck boards out and then back in underneath them and from having to replace all the deck boards.I can tell that these would have covered the damage to the posts that are chewed up or damaged for the first 4" or so from the bottom.At least for my scenario, if they produced a split version of these, it would be excellent.They feature stainless steel screws with skirt-matching head paint, which is a nice touch.It seems to be a very durable material that should last for a very long time...These are NOT at all flimsy because they are internally strengthened.Definitely a good investment...Being unable to utilize them would ANNOY ME, but doing so would have required essentially disassembling the top cover, which would have been a nightmare.

For stainless steel cable, this is a fantastic price, and the supplied cable cutters—while not of the highest caliber—are nevertheless useful. The cable is packaged on a little spool with a diameter of maybe 6 to 8 inches. Although it doesn't seem like there would be 100', it is labeled that such, and I think it's accurate based on weight. I hung fluorescent lighting from a high ceiling using it and metal crimp sleeves. For a little less money, I could have found standard steel cable, but for the extra money, I received a better product that I can use outside without worrying about rusting. Very speedy shipment and well worth the cost (on Prime).

According to some evaluations, this wire rope cannot be 316 stainless steel because it is magnetic. Typically, 316 stainless is not magnetic, whereas 304 stainless is. However, 316 stainless can become magnetic when the metal is worked. In this instance, that was most likely caused by the wire rope being produced. The real test of 316 stainless steel is how it holds up to oxidation when exposed to chlorides.I'm going to use this as a test by submerging a section of it in saltwater for a bit. This will serve as a good indication that the metal is 316 rather than the inferior 304.Putting that aside, I am confident that exposure to salts won't be a problem here, unlike a grill, which has to pass a magnetic test without fail. I won't have to deal with salt spray because I don't live near the beach, but this wire rope will be exposed to rain and snow.This stainless steel rope is excellent. manufactured to the stated requirements.

Twelve (black, matching the base) screws were included with the post base to secure it to the deck, and eight (shorter) screws were included to secure the post to the base. In order to build a gate, I used it to block off a piece of my deck with a too-wide railing gap by around 2 feet. I had a simple fit with my "4x4" post, leaving about 1/32" on either side. For this application, I'm happy with this freshly installed post, which is rather sturdy, but for people who insist on pushing the envelope, it may not be as sturdy as it could be. In order to attach the new post to the support timber, I first cut a 4x4 hole through the deck boards. However, I didn't want to do that, and I've had tremendous success with this option. If necessary, I would purchase this product again.

As a result, each trap has a "tether" linked to it that is both durable and incredibly flexible.With a set of lineman's pliers and a hand tool designed for crimping solderless electrical connectors, the wire rope may be cut with ease. Although it is not the best tool for crimping them, this one does the job. This product is excellent; I used it to create some rails for my pier, primarily to support fishing poles. The integrated hardware is user-friendly and reliable. Overall, the pricing of these cannot be surpassed, especially considering that you will spend less than half as much at Lowe's or Home Depot.Benefits: Much more affordable than big-box retailers. Each bracket is nicely secured by six screws.They are visibly more fragile and thinner than anything you would purchase in most stores, which is a drawback. They don't completely enclose the 2x4 lumber's end.My posts are spaced slightly over 4 feet apart, and my top rail is fastened across the top of each post, so for me, the expense was worth the loss of durability. I would have chosen a more robust set of hardware if I had placed my posts at 6 feet apart, but overall, I'm delighted with my purchase and there have been no problems thus far (3 months)
