I don't give out 5 star reviews often but For the value and shipping etc it is worthy. I do almost all my home projects and this replacement want bad. Make sure to confirm measurements of your opening prior to purchase. My cabinet opening turned out an inch shallow because I assumed similar size of the old oven. Not a big deal really and I may retrofit it at some point. The shipping was great and the packaging was almost all recyclable which is unusual for this kind of thing.

GE PT7800SHSS Microwave Wall Oven Review:

First off I am far from an expert on ovens. We rarely bake anything and I use a smoker for most all our meats. We have only got to use this for a couple of weeks so far but I am very happy with it. First off it just looks really good. The fans are much quieter than the oven it replaced. I have used the convection microwave and really like it so far. Only thing I have baked in the oven is a take and bake pizza but so far so good. I know some people complain about the controls but they are really easy once you get the hang of them. I love the sliding rack and the fact that you don't have to remove the grates when you clean the oven. The inside of the microwave is huge and with the convection feature you can use it for some baking during the holidays. This replaced another GE oven that gave us many years of trouble free use and only got replaced to update the kitchen.
I installed the oven myself and it was really easy if you have a few handyman skills and are comfortable hooking up the electrical connection. It is too heavy to lift into place with one person but with me on one side, my wife and her friend on the other it popped right in .

The oven works just fine but took some doing to get in place. It is sectioned in three parts. The microwave, the control panel, the oven. Although it is packaged as ONE unit and HEAVY (over 200 lbs), these three items were NOT aligned properly from the factory. Even after getting it into the cabinet had to unscrew the mounting brackets of the micro wave and adjust it , AND slip a large washer under one corner to raise it. There was a washer missing for the height. There was a broken stud on the control panel. The provided electric cord is SHORT, maybe three feet. You MUST raise the ENTIRE oven (215 pounds) to the height of the slot it will enter, balance it , turn it side ways to reach the rear, then you must reach around and make the wall connections. ( not a plug but four hard wires) VERY tight and difficult and took three of us to do it. I think this is a GREAT oven combo at at a reasonable price. So far( one month) it is working fine, BUT I would caution on owner installation. It is NOT for the faint of heart . The delivery was just fine and the guys cleaned up the debris. They say to KEEP the box it came in but it is VERY large and personally I would have them take it away with them.

GE JK3800SHSS Combination Wall Oven Review:

We bought this GE combo. to replace one that was too old to get parts for repair. We ordered a 27" since the repair man said to do so. Amazon did not give the dimensions so I looked at the same one on the GE home site. When it arrived it was well packaged and arrived with no damage, etc.; however, it was one solid, very heavy, 170 lb unit, rather than two pieces like our previous one. It also was much smaller than the dimensions stated in the GE site. Our cabinet had to be reworked and repainted to fit the larger hole that existed. It took a great deal of work to prepare the cabinet and then to bring into the house, lift into the spot and connect.

I have not had the unit installed very long - - - and have used it only a few times thus far. The price was the best I found while researching. If the oven cleans as the advertisement states, I will be delighted.

Besides being smaller than the stated dimensions that GE gave, being one single unit fused together made the installation very difficult. I am not happy with the timer sound. It is very soft and there are only 2 settings - - - mute or normal which is very quiet. I have to use my own timer to make sure I know when the cooking process is complete.

The unit is attractive in the stainless steel and goes well with my other stainless and black appliances. I expect to really enjoy this new oven combo. and it's steam-clean or self-clean options.

GE PT9800SHSS Combination Wall Oven Review:

We have only been using this for a few weeks, but initial impressions are very good. We wanted to create space in a redone kitchen so opted to get rid of our double oven and microwave and go with this combo. As we used the 2nd oven infrequently, we believe this to be the best use of space - it opens the space over our range top. The microwave cook feature works well - we did a frozen pizza in it the other day. While not getting the crust as crispy as we normally like, it was fine and browned. It is a bit of an inconvenience to trade out the trays as different ones need to be used for the oven function than used with the microwave. We will certainly use it mostly in the microwave function.

Settings are easy to use and the look is a clean modern look.
