I want to emphasize that they are GREAT booster seats as an RN and a Nationally Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician (I work at Childrens' Hospital in OK).Regardless of weight or height, a child under the age of 5 or 6 should NOT use this seat.I see that this product is deemed suitable for youngsters as young as three according to the product description. This needs to be changed right away! A booster is not appropriate for physically or developmentally mature children under the age of three. It is extremely unsafe for children to get out, unbuckle themselves, or put the shoulder strap behind their back. (You'll notice that due to how dangerous lap belts are, all newly produced cars do not have them any longer.)Riding in any type of booster seat can cause catastrophic injuries to kids who are under the age of 5 or 6. They must still be secured by a five-point harness. A five point harness distributes crash forces over a larger, stronger portion of the body (shoulders, hips, and crotch, where there are strong bones), and an adult seatbelt, even when the child is in a booster, crosses their abdomen too much instead of their hips. This is because children's skeletons are too fragile for a "three point harness" of an adult seatbelt. Many of their internal organs in their belly might be lacerated (cut into internally) in the event of an accident, and they could bleed to death internally in a matter of minutes.I sincerely hope you will think about strapping your young children—whom I'm sure you cherish and care about deeply—into a five point harness. These days, there are a lot of products available that have higher weight restrictions (all of those I've listed here go up to 50, 60, 65, 70, or even 80 pounds). To mention a few, there are the Britax Frontier, Diono Radian, Graco MyRide, Graco Size4Me, Britax Marathon, and Evenflo Maestro.**A 3-year-old child died in Las Vegas, Nevada in January 2013 because she was in a booster seat rather than a five-point harness (you can google this). It received widespread media coverage. Five point harnesses for young children are still strongly recommended by the Nevada news stations in a very fine video story.I usually advise choosing a highback booster over a backless booster if your child is older and still fits in one. A low back booster provides no side impact protection or head support. A highback booster does.Additionally, THIS IS NOT AN APPROPRIATE SEAT IF YOUR CHILD IS RIDING IN A SPOT IN THE BACK SEAT WITHOUT A HEAD REST (many cars DO NOT HAVE A HEAD REST IN THE MIDDLE SEAT). You MUST have a high back booster because if you were to have an accident, your child's head would flail backwards without any head support to stop it. (Read the manual to make sure it can be used without a headrest behind it; not all of them allow that.) A severe spinal injury that puts your life in danger could happen.Additionally, a lap belt should ALWAYS be worn with booster seats. They have to wear lap and shoulder belts at all times.

My Jeep Wrangler's back half was taken up by two Graco car seats, which I replaced. They protected my children from harm, and when they dozed off on long drives, their heads didn't bounce around as much. But since they are now 8 and 5, they requested booster seats for larger kids, so I bought them these. Because of my past experiences with them and because they had the LATCH connections, which many other strollers do not, I chose Graco. I don't want the seat to possibly move during any violent braking or an accident. Some individuals might not care. Since there is no backrest on these, the LATCH mechanism is significantly simpler to install and remove. The kids adored the booster seats when I let them sit on them; they truly wanted to drive around the block. I really appreciate the cup holder and hidden storage. The cup is made of plastic, which is far better than some others that use a rubbery substance. These are simple to clean. Overall, I like these boosters and am happy that I purchased them. My Jeep's back seats are now visible because they are not as big. We have a big journey scheduled for the next two weeks; let's see how they go sleeping without headrests. I did purchase each of them a seatbelt pillow, and I hope it will be helpful. Overall seems to be a fantastic product, and I sincerely hope I never have to put its functionality to the test in an accident!

With this buy, I'm quite pleased. I bought these because I wanted my 2005 Subaru Outback's back seats to be less clunky. My daughters still require the 5-point harness since they are not yet ready for a seat belt booster. I wanted a convertible seat that had a five-point harness and impact safety, but I also wanted room to develop and a little less bulk. This chair meets every requirement I have. They went from harness to seat belt booster, so it felt like the ideal purchase. Since the Graco Size4Me 65 convertible car seats take up more room than the current seats, I am unable to fit a third passenger in the back seat of the car. I can squeeze a third person in these seats, if they are slim!Having used every kind of car seat (bucket, convertible, and harness booster), I believe this seat is best suited for children 3 years and older, or possibly a big 2-year-old. It includes side impact protection for the head and torso despite being a booster seat, which is something I truly like about it. They will likely use these chairs until they are old enough to use a standard booster seat with no back support.I've discovered that installing the seat per the directions is the best way to have a good, snug fit with the LATCH system. Once the seat is in place, I crouch down and lean forward into the cushion of the car seat, letting my weight do the rest for around 30 seconds. I then pull on the LATCH strap a few more times to remove the extra 1/2" or so of slack. Depending on how tight it becomes, I either do this once or twice. The materials appear to be of high quality.Simple to installConvertible car seats are less clumsy, but they still include a protective head rest and side barriers.Recliner feature for general comfort and sleepingStraps with padding and a crotch buckleDark hues will conceal stains.LATCH and tether DOUBLE cup holders are installed!Cons: I've not yet discovered any!

The cup holder is not great; it is more of a koozie style holder than a sturdy plastic cup holder.Although a nice idea, the tray on the side is completely useless. My kid can't open and close it when seated in the booster because of the uncomfortable position for her small arms. I have to do it.Every person who answered to my question about whether I required a foam wedge with this booster stated "no." However, because of the height disparity between the front and back of the booster, my daughter appeared to be sitting in a hole when it first came. I picked out a wedge. It provides her with a level sitting area and does not obstruct the safety latches. Ladies, I apologize, but you should place a wedge under this booster and, in my opinion, under ALL car seats.

Full coverage back support even as your child grows. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends that children should use the built in harness system for as long as possible until they reach the maximum forward facing weight or height for their car seat, and after reaching the maximum forward facing weight and height, that children 4 feet 9 inches tall or under should ride in a belt positioning booster seat
When carrying car seat, carry from the bottom of the seat, not by the headrest.
Graco Highback TurboBooster child car seat helps safely transport your big kid from 30 to 100 pounds
LATCH system has a maximum weight limit and most children by the time they are using booster seat will out weight the limits of the LATCH system. In these cases, the vehicle seat belt must be used. Consumer should check their child’s weight/height and abilities to see if booster seat is right for them to use. Most car seats are designed to be used by average children, not for special needs children. There are car seats designed for special needs child that a consumer should look into.
For booster seats- secure car seat when not being used by a child so it is not loose inside your car. This high back booster car seat does not have built in harness system, this seat uses the vehicle’s seat belt system. If consumer wants a booster seat WITH built in harness, they can look at the Transzitions booster seat to see IF that seat fits their needs.
Seat back and bottom stay connected, making the car seat easy to carry , Car Seat Width Inside : 16.5 inches. Multi layer headrest for comfort. Easily converts to backless booster for years of use

I've had it for 2.5 years and it's still working excellent, so this is a wonderful booster! In response to the criticisms of belt placement boosters, I'd want to say, "guys, please pay attention to the weight limit on your car's LATCH anchors (there is one) AND the weight limit on the booster seat's connections to the LATCH when utilizing five point harness boosters" (again, there is one, and in both cases it may be only 48 pounds). Similar to how a chain is only as strong as its weakest link, a five point harness is only as safe as the links connecting the seat to the vehicle. The stresses that damage such anchors and anchor connectors will be stronger the harder the collision and the heavier the child. Because this is a problem that calls for some engineering expertise, or at the very least some common sense, there is a lot of bogus advertising out there, and it is simple to fall for it. For instance, I also have a well-liked five-point booster for my preschooler who is smaller. It was described as a five-point harness booster, rated for children up to 100 pounds, right on the package. I was surprised to see that it was only rated to 48 pounds for usage with LATCH months after installation. I had been occasionally placing my five-year-old in it because I mistakenly believed that he was safer sitting in his sister's seat than in his booster. He may have remained safely fastened to the seat in the event of a collision, but because of his excess weight, the seat may not have remained safely fastened to the vehicle. Your child is not fully protected by the seat. For the seat to function, the vehicle must remain in motion. You know your children, parents. This is a fantastic car seat for children who fit the age, height, and weight requirements if they are careful in the vehicle, conscious of safety, and don't unbuckle themselves, tamper with the straps, or otherwise mess with the belt positioning. It is resilient, strong, and doesn't show signs of wear. Covers can be washed. Cleaning the cupholders is simple. And it will continue long after your huge kid becomes too tall for the back, if not longer. Simply remove the back, and the booster is now backless. The best part is that, in a collision, they are essentially restrained directly against the automobile by a properly positioned seatbelt. Please keep in mind to fasten a seat with a five point harness to the car using the seatbelt rather than the LATCH if you do have a child that weighs more than the maximum for LATCH and refuses to stay in their seat, unbuckles the seatbelt, or does anything else.

I've now purchased two of these seats, therefore I believe the time has come to write a review. This seat fared remarkably well in a side impact at 60 mph. No less, on the side the seat was put! My husband and kid arrived home to me safely that evening, thanks to Ford and Graco. There isn't a better compliment to give a car seat.On a regular basis, I have been advising everyone with forward-facing children and those with several children to use this seat. For instances involving 3 across, it is the ideal width. Installing it is straightforward (not quite Chicco straightforward, but probably second in my experience!). I keep this in our second car and can simply switch it between my three, four, and six-year-old girls depending on who is traveling with me alone. It adjusts really easy. They all claim that it is cozy.I've used a wide variety of car seats and seat/vehicle combos due to having three small children, two automobiles, and a grandparent's car to furnish. I've been using this chair a lot lately because of how elegantly basic it is. The only thing I could truly ask for was that it kept my kid alive and did its job every day without difficulty. It isn't flashy or expensive, but that's all I really need!

I'm one of the worried parents. All.the.time. So, I debated whether to switch my almost-6-year-old (yeah, I know) from a 5-point harness carseat to a booster. As you might expect, there are about 8,000 booster seats available. I choose to buy this one for a number of reasons:1. It consistently received positive reviews2. It has a back; I didn't want a booster with no back. But when my daughter gets older, it can also be transformed into a backless booster.3. As an added measure of safety, it made use of the LATCH system.I am aware that the seat belt should hold the booster seat in place, thus using the LATCH mechanism to secure it is not really necessary. But because I'm a worrier Nelly, I thought this would be a safer booster. It was simple to put together (you only need to attach the arms, cup holder, and back) and then place in the car. My child adores this chair. She finds it cozy and adores being able to buckle her seatbelt just like her parents. She also like that she can adjust her own buckle and buckler. My husband concurred that installation was simple. It only has a few small drawbacks. I truly wish there were cup holders on either side of the seat. We have her car seat on the right side of the car, which is why. On the right side, there is also a cup holder. This implies that whenever she gets in and out of the car, she bumps into whatever is in the cup holder. On the left side of the seat, there is a small drawer, but it's difficult to open and close, and, quite honestly, it's not big enough to hold much. Furthermore, I wish the colors were more vivid. In person, the purple is more vivid than it appears on the screen, although it is still somewhat muted. But altogether, my daughter, who uses it every day, and I are quite pleased with this purchase.
