I use these for pouring acrylic. This 8 x 10 "Gesso has been liberally applied to canvas boards so that thick paint coatings won't leak through and wet the canvas/board. They do not warp or sag even when coated with 1/8 "or more wet paint left on top of them until they dry. This has been my best effort thus far. No problems or worries. Additionally, the 24 pack is a fantastic deal.I attempted various canvas boards that (CONDA, for example) claimed to be pre-treated with gesso, but if they were, it was a very thin layer, and the pours I did seeped into the canvas, producing "dry areas" where the texture of the canvas could be seen. The other brands required primer to be sprayed on, which considerably increased my costs; the US Art Supply boards don't seem to require primer. Please take note that applying primer will improve the quality of your pours because the paint will flow more smoothly and lie flatter, even on high-quality pre-primed boards. It everything comes down to individual technique.

These 8" by 12" canvas panels are a fantastic value. I've been doing multi-media collages for years now on high-quality watercolor paper because it is robust and I appreciate the "tooth" of the paper. However, in order for these works to be displayed, a professional artist must frame them in glass. The museum-quality glass and the framing significantly raise the price at which I must sell my artwork. Although these canvas boards don't have the same texture as cold-pressed watercolor paper, they offer a stable surface for mixing media (collage of papers, oil crayon, watercolor washes), allowing me to avoid the expense of glass protection. Since I've only just started playing with them, the super value price enables me to make "mistakes," which, while unintentional, occasionally lead to advances in the system as a whole. There is no reason to restrict the kind of materials that can be used in combination, even though these may have been designed for acrylic or oils and surely work for these heavier mediums.

When I dehydrate little products like celery, onion slices, etc., I use these for my dehydrator. **Note: If you intend to put them in the dishwasher, prewash before cutting to size. I can both cut to size and run them through my dishwasher. They WILL shrink up a little and not fit properly in the trays because I didn't consider this. **If you are reading this and considering utilising these for your dehydrating projects, please do so at your own risk. I've had no trouble painting on the canvases because they seem to be of decent quality and are prepared when they arrive.the initial postThese canvas boards are prepped and perfect for painting. I enjoyed the acrylic painting surface and the ability to order multiple sizes at once. In contrast, the back of the canvas includes a piece of paper with the information adhered to it (see photo)! The paper is glued on; if I attempt to remove it, it will shred and be difficult to do so. The back should have been left empty and plain, in my opinion.
