I bought this item for a number of reasons, the two main ones being that I need something durable that can endure the elements and that I want my young kid to be able to practice baseball at his own pace and comfort level while I am at work. This is my initial assessment of the product, and I'll be updating it as I use it more frequently. Here we go with the review's official start:ASSEMBLYI put this together within my home because I arrived home late. With the provided assembly instructions, construction was quite simple. You should have no trouble putting this product together if you can follow written directions for previous goods (if not, there is a video that Rukket has showing the assembly). I arranged all the components roughly in the order they would be put together, and then I just began screwing male ends into female ends, putting bolts in, and fastening washers and nuts. The provided wrench is small and inexpensive; however, tightening fasteners will go more quickly if you use a 1/2" socket or box wrench.I connected the net after assembling the frame. Once more, the procedure was quite basic and clear. There are plenty of bungees available, allowing you to customize the rebound force.Overall, from start to finish, assembly took just under 45 minutes. I simply took apart the rear support box the following day, transported the two pieces outdoors, put the stand back together, and staked it into the ground. The stakes basically seem to only protect it from sliding back during use; the device appears to have enough mass that it won't topple over.PRACTICE USING THE REBOUNDERAfter assembling it and bringing it outside, I tested the netting and many position settings for various drills and fielding choices with my ball and gloves. The options are excellent for producing pop-ups, line drives, one-hop ground balls, and a number of other circumstances between the 2-position tilt and the adjustment of the rear stand. It is possible to practice movement drills to chase ground balls or quick reactions to line drives that are just beyond of reach by angling your body while tossing the ball. The unit's ability to handle a variety of drills and the variety of locations in which it can be used has so far really surprised me. In addition to the rubber on the parts that contact the ground, as I said previously, it also comes with stakes for the yard, allowing for driveway use. Although I previously stated that the weight is sufficient to prevent it from toppling, it might be a good idea to add a few sandbags to the front and back to ensure that it doesn't move (though I don't see it moving).CONSTRUCTIONThe item itself has a sturdy feel, which I like. The powder coat paint job feels wonderful and completely covers every surface of the metal pipes, which are strong and robust. As I mentioned above, I had to fix a piece of tubing with pliers because the paint wouldn't scrape off.The net appears to be constructed of a sturdy substance. By having a design that extends to the very edge of the tubing, it prevents the ball from slipping through if it is thrown too closely to the edge and eliminates the space between the net and the tubing. This seems like a really useful addition that can stop a lot of bothersome ball retrieval. The main worry I had came from reading numerous reviews of other products on the internet. I was concerned that balls thrown too hard could pass right through it, but it handled the heat I was throwing at it (or at least as much heat as I could throw) with no problems. The plastic bungee clips that sit on the edges of the net are one of my few worries. Only time will tell if balls thrown to the edges accidentally hit a clip and destroy it or if the net can withstand being exposed to the elements for an extended period of time. Although I will store it for the winter, it is big enough that I won't have to carry it back and forth from the garage or storage room every time my son wants to use it.Two pull pins are used to adjust the tilt. These may be removed from the rebounder with little effort and hinge modification. Additionally, they are simple to reinsert, demonstrating that the components were carefully milled to ensure that the holes truly match up with one another. Tension buttons are used to alter the back support (the buttons that you push into a hole, then adjust and the pop out the next hole you adjust to). These are simple to depress, and the support is simple to change by sliding up and down. One button did not completely pop back out when I reached a hole; it required some adjustment to the frame on my part to get it locked in, but it could have been because of the surface it was resting on. In general, adaptation is simple.FIRST TAKEI have been impressed with this product thus far. I appreciate the sturdy build and thoughtful design. I believe that I made a wise financial decision because this will continue for many years. While not too big to travel around the yard, it is big enough to offer diversity in training drills. However, it is nearly too enormous to travel to and from the fields in order to do drills for the minor ball team I help coach. However, I would feel confident urging the municipality to buy several of these to store at the fields for practices due to the general look and feel.It is worth the investment, as I stated in the review's title, and in my opinion, it is an investment. My kids only have one chance to excel at baseball, so I'll gladly spend a little extra cash to buy them top-notch training tools that will help them master a variety of baseball-related skills and, hopefully, spark a lifelong passion for a sport that has been a staple of American culture for more than 150 years.UPDATEI can now state that after using this for a few weeks, I am completely satisfied with this product. Every day that the weather has been pleasant, my son has gone outside to practice and does so alone while I'm not around. He like the versatility of having ground balls rebounded or pop ups (which surprises me because he has long been uncomfortable with the ball in the air).To help me unwind at the end of the day, I find myself using it outside almost daily. Being deliberate when tossing and catching with this rebounder has a peaceful, meditative quality.Regarding use, I should mention that the stakes that came with it have held it firmly; I haven't seen the net itself budge or the stakes protrude, even on some recently fairly windy days.I stand by my 5-star rating and heartily suggest this item.

This self pitch return bungee net is perfect for solo practice away from a wall. To get a high air ball, a side return, or a low ground return, you can pitch at various parts of the net. Of course, the more force you apply, the quicker it will eventually recover. Although the metal is strong, it is also quite light. It does come with metal stakes to keep it in place on a grassy field, but as you can see, even with the stakes in place on pavement, it holds put rather well.It did take around 30 minutes to install. With the figure that is supplied, it is rather simple to understand which numbers on which metals attach to corresponding numerals. The process of tying the bungee from the net to the frame requires more instructions. I recorded the video and grabbed a screenshot of the connections. It really just requires sliding the rope through the hole, wrapping it around the frame, and inserting the red ball through the loop.I just deducted one rating because of the size and portability. Even when folded flat, it is rather large and would not fit in the back seat of a 2011 Hyundai Sonata, a large sedan. I can get it all the way in, but I can't close the door. Wish it had extensible legs like the tent and canopy's extendable legs so you could fold it in half. Simply drilling a few additional holes into the metal frame would have allowed them to accomplish that. Perhaps I'll have to use my own MacGyver skills to drill it. The only way to make it portable would be to remove the net and separate the frame from the middle, which would be difficult. It will be difficult to take it to the ballpark to use it if you don't own a pickup truck or an SUV unless you again take it apart.

I got this for my ten-year-old, unknowing grand nephew in Florida. My sister claims he exhausts himself doing it. He enjoys playing baseball with his friend, but when the two are apart, he uses this instead. helps me feel a little more connected to the tiny guy.

It's a terrific flyback/pitchback. The local kids and my 8-year-old son tested it out and had a great time with it. I also engaged in game play with my son. It was nice to have the strike zone, and we used it to act as the catcher when we were at bat. Please take note that I chose the smaller size. The box that was delivered differs from the one shown. The box specifies the size as 68x44. Additionally, despite their inclusion, stakes are not mentioned. Since the model number was the same as the one in the Amazon description, I called Franklin Sports to inquire about this discrepancy (24804). They informed me that the item I received is the 2017 model, the size mentioned on the box is incorrect, and the size listed on Amazon is accurate.

Easy to put together and does the job. The rebounds are strong and reliable. The stakes it begins with are the only reason I am rating it four instead of five stars. They flex and won't remain buried. To secure the net to the stakes, I had to drive additional stakes into the earth. The zip-ties are breaking since it got chilly, but that won't be a problem until it warms up (in case you didn't already guess that). Personally, I think this net is a good training tool for children under the age of ten. However, be cautious if your toddler is still learning how to play. A nice throw into this net could cause a face-pop.
