There is some debate over whether 3 fins or 1 fin is better on a paddle board. Some say that 3 fins provide better stability and tracking, while others argue that 1 fin is more efficient and easier to maneuver. Ultimately, it comes down to personal preference and what works best for you.
I believe that quads are better than thrusters because they provide more stability and power. When you are doing a thruster, you are essentially doing a squat with a press overhead, which can be difficult to maintain proper form on. The quadriceps are the largest muscle group in the body, so they can generate a lot of power. The thruster also puts a lot of stress on the shoulders and elbow joints.
There is a lot of debate in the surfing world about which type of fin setup is faster – twin fins or thrusters. Both have their pros and cons, and ultimately it comes down to personal preference. Twin fins are often thought to be faster because they provide more drive and speed. However, they can be less stable than thrusters, making them more difficult to control in big waves. Thrusters, on the other hand, offer more control and stability. This makes them better for surfing in powerful waves. However, they can be slower than twin fins.
Twin fins are a great option for small waves because they provide more maneuverability and speed. The extra fin also helps with stability in small waves.

I bought these fins to compare to a set of Futures "twin 1" arrangement for a Channel Islands Pod Mod (5'10") that I was epoxying. They are well-made, have a nice appearance, and easily fit into the fin boxes. Right away superior without question to plastic composite fins. In my perspective, they are fairly effective at gaining speed in smaller waves and are not as skatey as one might imagine. I sent my board and these fins to another rider in the lineup who often uses a quad fin configuration, and he gave them the same review. Keep of mind that neither of us really tested the limits of the fins and the board in larger waves. The amount paid, how much more fun the board became, and the fact that it satiated my curiosity about dual keel fins made this a terrific purchase. I already know which fins will go on my fish surfboard if I ever acquire one.

I'm new to SUP, and my kid and I accidentally grind the fin off a loaned Yoga board. We noticed it was gone when we got back to the island we'd paddled to. The distance to the closest surf shop in rural coastal Maine was considerable. Fortunately, I was able to locate this fin here at a very good price after searching for a replacement. I was pleased to find the mounting screw as our fin and all the accessories were missing. I placed the order on a whim, hoping it would fit because I couldn't locate the compatibility chart that the blurb had mentioned. Could it be on the manufacturer's website? It took some time to find out how to install it; for this particular board, it involved threading the thumbscrew and flat washer onto the fin, sliding it into the groove, and then removing the screw to re-insert the crossbar into the groove. The fin then became pleasantly more tightly coiled. Can't be beat on price, functionality, and packing.

During Thanksgiving break, I lost one of my thruster fins while on vacation in San Diego. It cut my session short by about an hour and a half, so I was quite pissed, but I wasn't too pissed because it was only a cheap Shapers fin that was too tiny. Anyway, I got back from the trip and needed some fins because I was scheduled to surf Bolsa Chica that Friday. These were found, and I bought them.I was thrilled when the fins arrived the following day (I had chosen same-day shipping). I took them out of the bag (which had an excessively large surf key) and immediately inserted them into my board. They were an ideal match. No need to sand. They have a respectable amount of flex, which I loved. They had a terrific session surfing.Ho Stevie's owner Steve is a great man. He has a great youtube channel, answers questions on Instagram, and sent me a bar of wax that smells like eggnog. The only thing that could be enhanced is to have fins of various sizes. Have more color options (I'm 5'11" and weigh 200 pounds, so these fins are a little tiny for me). It kind of sucked, to be honest, even though the fin key was a lovely gesture.

Upon reaching the Outer Banks with my family for a holiday, I discovered that I had left the inflatable Shaboomee paddleboard's fin at home. I couldn't receive the fin for free and on time through shipping from the OEM. Although Shaboomee wasn't mentioned as a compatible brand, the fin's specifications appeared to be appropriate. I took a gamble and am so glad I did. I could paddle for a few days because the fin fit like a glove.Good value for a fantastic product. swift fulfilment of orders.

I found just what I was looking for in these. To prevent them from coming off, just fasten them to your fins. I already use swim socks on my other fins, which fit snugly so that they won't fall off, but after trying these, I'm going to ditch them in favor of these awful things.Overall, a fantastic, functionally simple design. It fastens with Velcro to a neoprene membrane that covers your ankles. It's comfortable, prevents your fins from falling off, and if they do, you can just put them back on underwater with confidence that they won't end up in Davy Jones' locker.

I must start by praising Ho Stevie! for their great service. The owner, Steve, swiftly wrote a follow-up email to inquire about whether the fins lived up to my expectations when the fins arrived right on schedule.Regarding the durability of these fins, I can say that I have already banged against them on the reef a few times and hardly noticed a dent on them. When I inserted them into my futures boxes, they appeared to have a tiny gap, and the base of one fin was slightly lifted out of the box, so I was a little concerned about how well they would fit. I tried surfing with them and they held up well because they were secure and felt solid. I emailed the owner to inquire about this matter, and he swiftly replied that everything should be fine as long as they do not move. As of now, so nice!It seems absurd to pay this much for a set of sturdy quads. I'm pleased with my purchase and will most likely get more of their equipment!

These fins are incredible! My Ronix 4'7" Koal Thruster completely changed once I added the 2 outside fins. This board was previously considerably too loose and slow when equipped with the small factory fin, which made it difficult to use behind my wakesurf boat. The board became much faster once the fins were added because you can produce much more drive out of the trough. I'm pleased I bought these because the board's performance with the stock fins left me quite unimpressed; but, with these, it has become one of my favourites. Amazing!

The absolute best action you can take against a Wavestorm. The board turns much better, rides a little quicker, and paddles a little faster. This single fin appears to be firmer than the three fins it replaced and, in my opinion, has less drag. After using it several times, I find that I much prefer the board with this fin. Normally, I wish I was using one of my better boards whenever I surf a Wavestorm. But these days, this is my go-to board on days that are more like beaters.A day with tiny waves, a packed lineup, and a rough bottom all the way to shore was the scene of my first session on that device. I rode so many waves without having to worry about damaging my board. On the board, I genuinely had a great deal of enjoyment. From just that one session, I gained more stoke than $35. On a Wavestorm, I wasn't for the first time wishing I had a different board. The board was riding and turning so much better with this single fin when I was out again yesterday night in three to five feet of surf. My friend also rode it, and we both agree that there has been a significant improvement. It now resembles a wave machine more. It's what I refer to as my "Wavestorm Pro."Just make sure the third fin hole is fairly straight up and down; I had some difficulty getting that screw to engage. To get it to bite, I had to clear out the hole with something larger. The best course of action might be to drill out the hole.

These were purchased to go with some BZ soft surfboards I had purchased for my kids. Despite being cheap, they are nonetheless a high-quality product. They are what I wanted and expected, even though I had to "alter" them a little bit to make them fit. The screw seats are roughly half an inch thick, and the holes are spaced 4" apart. To make the boards fit, I had to make the holes larger, but I was prepared for that. The screws also kept their shape and are holding strong, despite the fact that I had to shorten them (due to the thinness of the boards). I would repurchase them!
No, twin fins are not hard to ride. In fact, they are often easier to ride than other types of fins. Twin fins offer a more stable ride and can help you stay in control while surfing.
Yes, you can surf without fins, but it will be much more difficult. Fins help you to paddle faster and to keep your balance on the board.
Yes, you can surf with 2 fins. In fact, many surfers prefer 2 fins because they provide more control and stability when surfing. The downside to surfing with 2 fins is that they can make it more difficult to turn your board.
Fins help you catch waves by providing extra propulsion and stability. They also help you stay on your board and avoid getting thrown off.
There are a lot of different factors that go into whether or not surf fins make a difference. One of the most important is the type of wave you're surfing. Fins help with both speed and control, so if you're surfing a big, powerful wave, they can definitely make a difference. Another factor is your own surfing ability. If you're a beginner, fins can help you stay on your board and catch waves more easily. But if you're an experienced surfer, you may not need them as much. Ultimately, it's up to you to decide whether or not you
There isn't a definitive answer to this question as opinions tend to vary. Some believe that the size of a fish's fins does make a difference in their ability to swim and maneuver, while others believe it is more of a cosmetic feature. There isn't any scientific evidence to support either claim, so it ultimately comes down to personal preference.
