Base coat can be used alone, but it is not recommended. Base coat is designed to adhere to the nail and create a smooth surface for the polish to adhere to. If you use base coat alone, it will not provide the smooth surface needed for the polish to adhere properly and will likely chip quickly.
A base coat can help your nail polish last longer because it provides a smooth surface for the polish to adhere to and it can also help to prevent staining of your nails.
A base coat is a clear polish that is applied to the natural nail before applying color. It acts as a primer, making the color easier to apply and giving it a longer lasting finish. Base coats can also help to prevent staining of the nails and provide a barrier between the nail and the color polish. Most base coats will dry clear, but some may have a slightly tinted color.
There are a few ways to make your nails shiny naturally. One way is to use a clear nail polish. Another way is to use a base coat and top coat. You can also use a buffer to buff your nails.

I was switched from Esse to OPI. I was in awe of my friend's stunning "natural" fingernail color. She gave me the color name DON'T BOSSA NOVA ME AROUND and said that she always used OPI and the foundation "NATURAL NAIL BASE COAT" before adding top coats because for years this brand had been so trustworthy in terms of application and color not easily chipping after top coat. I purchased all 3 items and was pleasantly surprised by the base coat, nail lacquer, and top coat. I work as an artist and use a lot of mixed media as well as tools like needles, scissors, and pins, all of which usually ruin the nail polish I use, thus I typically use clear. Now, whenever the mood hits, I may employ color with joy. The color opaque lacquer, like the majority of that type, requires two coats and on easily and dries to a sheen. Promote this company.

This is fantastic. I give myself home gel polish manicures, and even though I use rubbing alcohol to dry out my nails, I nearly always need to touch up after about 2 days. I ordered this when I finally got around to trying to troubleshoot. I'm currently on day 7 and have seen absolutely no peeling. My nails are gorgeous. After polishing my nails and washing them with rubbing alcohol, I applied this. After it had cured for around 10 seconds, I started by applying my gel base coat and continued as usual. No scorching at all, and my typical application procedure went without a hitch.I had to gush over it, but I'll update this review once I know how long my polish lasts.I developed a chip on one of my thumbs on day eight. I redrew that one nail because the rest of my fingers appeared to be in good shape, and we'll see how long it lasts. At this time, I believe my nails will have grown enough that I'll need to paint them all over again before I experience any significant chipping or peeling.Updated in September 2016: Still adore this stuff, and without it, I couldn't paint my nails. My nails are normally done every two weeks, and after that time they still look beautiful but are simply growing out.

top and base coats for natural nails.Base coat is thin, which I prefer, and dries under a mid- to high-powered led light in approximately 30 seconds. After curing, the base coat becomes tacky but does not move. It scared me briefly since it seemed a touch stickier than most base coats, but after two coats of polish (of the same brand) and a top coat, it was gel-hard and fully healed.Top coat applies thickly, making it a little challenging to achieve a beautiful thin layer, but after it has dried, it does its purpose. It is really shiny and goes great with this company's glitter polish and nail powder. I've just tried nail powder as a base and top coat; I haven't tried any other brands.Under my LED light, I gave the topcoat a minute to cure, but 30 seconds seems to work just fine.On either of these, I didn't feel much of a heat spike on my hands and only a slight tingle on my toes.appears to hold up well even with just one coat of top coat. It will peel like other no-wipe top coats if you use two layers. Even after some strenuous housework and moving an appliance without gloves, the polish has been on my dominant hand for more than a week and still largely looks brand new.I merely cleaned my nail with acetone and 91% isopropyl alcohol instead of buffing the top. It will bubble if the alcohol or acetone isn't completely removed. I believe that the small bubble I have on one nail is the result of applying the base coat too quickly after the nail prep has all evaporated.

Wow, this prep and primer set works great. The bottles are a great size, and they don't smell overpoweringly strong. I've had this set for about a week, so I thought I'd test it out before writing my review to see how it held up. I painted my nails when I first received it, and so far there has been no lifting or breakage, so I really like this prep and primer set. I've tried different prep and primer products in the past, and they've always caused lifting, so I'm glad I found this stuff because it appears to work really well. I would certainly recommend this set because of its affordable price.

The base and top coat on this are the best I've ever used!Since I've been doing my own gel nails at home for a year and a half, I've tried a variety of base and top coats. I was using one from Amazon that came in a pink bottle before this. Although they were quite durable and never broke or lifted, when I went to soak them off, I would still need to scrape the surface with a metal tool after 25 minutes.Because of my growth, I must remove my polish before I experience any lifting or chipping with this. If I ever experience lifting, it's from shoddy cuticle preparation or paint application, never from this polish. Top coat imparts a beautiful sheen without being overly gloopy or thick. I also appreciate that the smell is not overpowering. The removal is the best feature of this product. Most of my nails had the polish entirely removed with the removal of the foil after 15 minutes of acetone-soaked cotton with foil. The cuticle stick was only somewhat needed for the others. When I run out, I'll be ordering more of this!

I discovered that another reviewer, like me, truly "worked" with her hands. I decided to take a chance and buy it based on that review. Boy, am I glad I did!To give a little background, I am a hard-working craftsman from the country. I don't belong to the classy, modern gals who get their nails done and then are frightened to wipe their behinds for fear of breaking a nail.My hands are always in use. I do a lot of things that are incredibly hard on hands, especially the nails, like dig in the soil, tinker with machinery and equipment, use a hammer, wire wrap jewelry, quilt, work on furniture, do masonry work, wash dishes by hand, and a ton of other things. Broken and chipped nails are a common occurrence. My issue was that one of my thumbnails had been damaged, resulting in the edge flaking and being extremely weak. When I wire wrap, this is a big problem because it flakes back, rips into the quick, and hurts. I had hoped the broken ridge would heal, but it has been this way for a few years now.The 7-in-1 Nail Treatment is a great product that I have used.I regularly do the following:Day 1: Remove any acetone-containing nail polish and apply two coats (drying between coats)Nothing on Day 2Apply another coat on day three.Day 4: Refresh and begin againI believe you might achieve comparable effects by using just one coat for three straight days before starting over the following day. I would prefer not to worry about it that day, though, as I am quite busy. I skipped two consecutive days, but it starts to wear off, so it wasn't successful for me.You'll notice right away that it's not difficult. In fact, you can mark the coating with your nail. I've actually had some of it scratch and scuff up after three applications. I merely rubbed it back down. Although it had a little rough appearance, it was clear to milky white, so it hardly stood out.The wonderful news is now available. My old gardening gloves were utterly worn out, and I couldn't find any new ones. I thought, "Oh great, there goes the nail mending process," as I weeded without wearing gloves. They were pretty well-protected by this. The only problem I encountered while digging in a particularly resilient flower bed was some rough edges where the nails had struck some pebbles. The nails still looked excellent once I smoothed the edges. The second incident involved me reaching for the light while banging my nail against my bed's metal headboard. By this point, my nails were quite long, and it was excruciatingly painful. It "should" have broken, but the nail held together. The coating was severely dented, but I was able to smooth it back down a bit, saving the nail from even a chip. The next significant occurrence occurred when my spouse dropped his end while helping me lift a hefty box. I had a reverse bent nail, and oh did it hurt! The nail should have torn, forcing me to yank it off back into the quick and cut it as neatly as I could, but this time it didn't. I simply rounded off the rough covering and carried on with my work.I did experience one nail break around the edge, though. Since I don't recall knocking it off anything and none of the nails were involved in the occurrences, I'm not sure what caused that one. It's pretty normal for me, really. When you treat them as harshly as I do, one break out of a possible four is fantastic. The flaking thumbnail has stopped flaking, which is the final improvement. It has been longer than it has in a while, and the damaged ridge appears to be beginning to heal.

I don't typically write reviews, but because I've grown so reliant on reading them before making purchases, I figured it was only fair that I eventually give back. It may be useful to know that the reason this is the first product I feel obligated to review is because the top coat genuinely performs as well and as quickly as it promises. Utilizing it definitely gives the impression of enchantment.Previous Experience: I used to be forced to use top coats from Sally Hansen and other companies who make claims about how quickly they dry. However, three days later, I could still make a dent in my polish. I didn't enjoy painting my nails, so I didn't do it very often. However, I felt constrained to use drugstore brands because I didn't know what else to use and many other products looked to be too expensive. I discovered this one after finally giving up and deciding to do some research because it came highly recommended and, more importantly, the pricing is fair.Using the Seche Vite top coat, the top layer solidifies and becomes touchable in about 5 minutes. However, I like to wait a good half hour for safety before handling anything with my hands after that point because it seems unbreakable. After some practice, I believe the end results to be superior to anything I've received at a salon. Simply drag a nice-sized pearl of top coat across the polished nail lightly before it begins to dry to create a smooth layer. The trick is learning the proper starting dosage because if you use too little polish, it will upset the polish and if you use too much, it will bleed off your nail bed. I also advise covering the nail tips with both your polish and the top coat if you notice any peeling. That makes my nails last a lot longer. If you frequently paint your nails, I would also suggest obtaining Seche Restore because it prolongs the life of both this top layer and your manicure polish.Overall: I am finally able to enjoy the process of painting my nails, and because I get to keep them polished, my nails are starting to get nice and long. I would advise you to test it right away if you are inquisitive about it. It functions and costs less than brands that don't even function as well. If you are sensitive to smells, the strong odor can be the lone drawback. Oh, and I also can't ignore the chemical's possible reproductive hazard warning label. Go for it if those two factors are not a deal-breaker.TL;DR summaryPros:As long as you wrap the tip, it does what it says and dries my polish in seconds. It also leaves my manicure flawless without unattractive bubbles or dents.cheaper than shop brands like Sally Hansen from pharmacies-There is a cost-effective way to purchase Seche Restore, which makes one bottle of Seche Vite last forever.Without the difficulty of obtaining the lamp, your manicure will essentially resemble a gel manicure.Cons:Strong smell may annoy sensitive people, and the ominous warning label is a little unsettling.

Because this nail paint is pricey, I also brought the armor top coat and the anchor base coat. I wanted to make use of my existing color palette. These goods represent the truth. I started by applying a thin base coat, followed by two top coats of polish ( 15 minutes apart so that the polish could dry). Five days after getting my manicure, I took these shots, and I believe they turned out very well. There is some wear and tear, but it's not as bad as with other polishes I've used. There aren't any sizable chips. It's incredible that this occurred with ordinary polish rather than gel, SND, or shellac. Regular polish is my favorite over the others. This is your baby if you care about the life of your manicure! "Woo Hoo!" #1) Five -Free, i.e., no hazardous additives, was my criterion. #2) Durable color that could withstand the demands of everyday housework and caring for a daughter with special needs who has challenges that necessitate frequent hand washing. #3) Gorgeous color.Being a late bloomer, I was just recently made aware of the risks associated with applying nail paint that contains harmful chemicals. So I placed a few "Five Free" polish orders online and made additional purchases at Whole Foods. I felt let down. None of them lasted more than a few days, and in one instance, only one day! I next searched Amazon for reviews of the Five Free polishes. In among all the reviews, there was a nugget of wisdom. The reviewer claimed that starting with a primer might help this specific polish hold up better. I therefore bought this one. Now, EVERY polish I get from Five Free lasts at least two weeks, and in one case, I'm already on the fourth week. I really enjoy having pretty nails, I only want to use non-toxic products, and I never apply more than one application of lacquer per week. My go-to product is now this one! ella mila Nail Care did a great job! You've just gained another devoted client!
If you want your nail polish to last longer, there are a few things you can do. First, make sure you have a good base coat. This will help the polish stick to your nails better. Next, use a thin layer of polish. Thick layers are more likely to chip. Finally, add a top coat. This will protect your nails and make them shine.
To apply a base coat to your nails, start by painting your nails with a clear base coat. Then, apply a thin layer of your desired color nail polish. Be sure to wait until the base coat is completely dry before applying the color nail polish. Finally, apply a top coat to seal in the color and protect your nails.
To apply nail polish like a pro, you will need a few supplies. You will need a base coat, top coat, and your favorite color of nail polish. You will also need a nail file, nail buffer, and cuticle pusher. Start by filing your nails into the desired shape. Then, use the nail buffer to smooth out the surface of your nails. Next, push back your cuticles with the cuticle pusher. Now it’s time to apply the base coat. Apply a thin layer of base coat to your nails and allow it
There are a few ways to dry nail polish quickly. One way is to use a quick-dry nail polish. These polishes typically have a built-in drying agent that helps the polish dry faster. You can also use a nail polish dryer, which is a small device that uses either heat or UV light to speed up the drying process. Finally, you can try dipping your nails in ice water for a few minutes. This can help the polish dry faster by shrinking the polish.
A base coat is a clear polish that is applied to the nails before the color polish. It helps the color to adhere to the nails and also prevents the nails from staining. Base coats can be either water-based or solvent-based. Water-based base coats are thinner and take less time to dry. Solvent-based base coats are thicker and take longer to dry.
A base coat should be applied before any nail polish. It helps to even out the nails surface, provides a smooth base for the polish, and prevents the polish from staining the nails.
