I've only used one of the set's pieces thus far, and I enjoy them. They are all the same, of course. Therefore, they ought to all be as one.Even though I would have like a longer string—perhaps 2 inches—I won't hesitate to get more when I run out, misplace, or give them all away. Those crimson cups covering my ears were so much more comfortable.Since they are long enough, I can wear them around my neck. Perhaps my neck is larger than yours.)

I debated whether to buy this product or the bullet shell case and plugs. Because it was only a few dollars cheaper and they didn't have a lot of information, I chose this one.Needless to say, this device has made me extremely happy and fits nicely in my pocket with no pain. After a few days, it was the ideal addition because someone who wishes to carry a firearm round on their keychain may easily forget the usefulness and convenience of the container. The earplugs fit the case well and perform their function with little any discomfort. However, I would advise wearing ear muffs over these for additional protection because they did have a tendency to go a bit deeper in my ears than I anticipated. The plugs themselves are bright orange and perfect for a noisy setting or the range. They still fit me snugly, though, and they've done a great job thus far. Because they are a universal size, those of you with larger ear canals should be informed that you may have to dig in your ears to remove them.In order to conclude this review, I'd like to mention that the case's top screws off and has a waterproof O ring, making it the perfect solution for those of us who don't want to regularly clean our carrying case or the plugs before using. Finally, the casing is made of metal, and at first, the threads seem a touch rough, but this is only because you have to lubricate them when you take it out of the packaging. The top screws easily screw on and off with a little WD-40 on the threads. no machining flaws of any kind.Yes, I would suggest it to friends or coworkers who enjoy shooting, going to concerts, or both.

These much exceed my expectations in quality. They are being used in my busy, distracting office. Even though I am aware it is not their intended use, I took a chance. WOW. Nothing can be heard by me. The copier, other people moving around, etc., are all audible to me. I can't hear the person speaking to me directly from three feet away. I have NO AUDIENCE of them. I anticipated that these would block sounds and voices more than the foam earplugs, but there is almost no muffling. I can't even hear myself think. Now, I really do reside in a soundproof cage! Like someone discovered the MUTE button!Because I've always had a problem with normal ear buds, such those used for music, hurting my ears, I chose the small size rather than the medium, which they claimed was for "typical" people. They fit together perfectly. I believe that the medium would have harmed my ears. (As a point of comparison, I'm a skinny Caucasian woman.)These install so quickly (unlike the awful foam ones, which need you to wrap them up, force them in, and pray they seal, only to perform a poor job)! And the ear bud's outer portion snugly secures it in place in my ear. These cannot be inserted either too closely or too far. They are flawless.

The perform. When I shower, I use them. I think of my ears as allergy ears. My skin is exceedingly dry due to skin sensitivity to several products, even inside the ear canal! Itchy, dry, and flaking ears. Along with water after shampooing, I frequently experience swimmer's ear ache. Doctors were unable to identify the exact cause. gave me an ear drop with medicine, which worked temporarily. then practically ceased to function. I decided to give these earplugs a try after conducting a lot of independent research (gotta love Google). I believe that swimmers' ear pain is caused by the microscopic flaking along with shower water forcing the flakes deeper into the ear canal. There hasn't been any soreness for almost three weeks. Water is kept out by the plugs! I'm crossing my fingers that I've discovered the problem.

These are unquestionably my favorite SureFire models despite owning the EP6 (two flanges) and EP7 (foam type) as well. The three flange earplugs work well, and I adore the ear lock design. It keeps the earplugs in place and ensures that they fit comfortably. These earplugs are cozy and are available in several sizes. For me, a medium fits well and seals up well. The earplugs are simple to insert and remove from the ear, as well as clean. I adore the tiny tabs I can take out to allow more sound to pass through. When I mow the grass and use the leaf blower, I utilize these the most. Even while I appreciate the plastic storage box's look, it would be wonderful if SureFire also made a more robust version of the same case. I am aware that they are meant to last six months, but because I don't use them much, mine have lasted for a number of years. This is a product I'll keep purchasing. Having said that, I do use other kind of earplugs for other uses. Because of how rigid they are compared to foam ear plugs and because they are not high-fidelity ear plugs, I personally wouldn't use these for sleeping. They also block out too much sound for concerts. They absolutely deserve a rating of 5 stars for the intended use.

As an audio engineer who also shoots, I place a great importance on hearing protection. With in-ear hearing protection, I struggle greatly. Nearly every earbud I've ever tried falls out, and foamies just don't stay in my ears. These were simple to mold, fit really good, and feel comfortable enough. The custom-molded pieces aren't horrible, but I wish they were a little softer. I can get by with just the Decibullz when shooting skeet (i.e., rather low strength birdshot) outside. The rifle and handgun ranges across the street aren't nearly enough for me, though. They significantly lessen the pain, but they are insufficient on their own if someone also owns a short barrel or magnum caliber rifle. I then take remove the electronic muffs at that point. For anything more, I wouldn't use them by themselves at an indoor range. 22lr. These are items that I always have with me and have been used in clubs and other settings where the music or other sounds are too loud. They also have a version for use with ear buds, which I might try, and one that apparently has a flatter frequency response. I wouldn't think twice about recommending these or getting another set. Many people in my skeet club use them.

My kid and I shoot a lot, both inside and outside, with shotguns of different sizes. He uses competitive NRA rimfire. The Howard Leight electronic muffs that we have been using are fantastic, although they do sometimes interfere with cheek welding. Never really liked foam inserts. I impulsively bought these and was dubious. I'm actually really happy with it so far. A really good design, it seems. They are simple to insert and sort of "lock" in your ear. When needed for huge bore or pistol ranges, a better option for under muffs and a DB rating that is not as high as other alternatives is fine for rimfire. After conducting some testing in various scenarios, I'll report back.So far, I have only one criticism: the package. I apologize if that seems petty, but I hate packaging. The back of the package contains helpful information, but it is very hard to remove the contents without ruining the entire package. I used a razor knife to carefully cut around the plastic because it was dangerous to slip and accidentally cut the contents (or yourself). But that won't affect how I rate the product.Edit: I've now utilized these with rimfire, shotgun,.308 and 30-06 on two ranges. They work well with rimfire. I would advise wearing muffs over the larger weapons. However, that is precisely how they are advertised. They will be my go-to for both general use and the rimfire contests, so I'm quite happy with the purchase. Additionally, they let me use a smaller muff for big bore, which makes cheek welding simpler.

I have used the Decibullz Molded Percussive Filters for several range visits and I have nothing but excellent things to say about them. Although they reduce sounds when rounds are fired, which is precisely what you would expect with a weapon like this, I can still carry on a conversation. I can't speak to their use at indoor ranges because I have only used them at outdoor shotgun ranges. The custom fit makes them quite comfortable, and they fit me well. They are a significant improvement over the active earmuffs I previously wore. They don't prevent me from mounting my shotgun, so they don't have a negative impact on my results (but also eliminate one of my excuses when I have a poor round).I can carry on a normal conversation while using this product, and the noise reduction appears to be in line with the claimed numbers. I'm pleased with my purchase because it seems to live up to its promises. The instructions for shaping the symbol are not particularly clear about which parts are required to be boiled, which was the one problem I had with this product. The necessity to remove the percussive filters is obvious, but it wasn't made apparent how to separate the filters from the stem, or to boil it with the molds and orange triple flange tips. I was able to understand the process much better once I found their video on YouTube.I strongly suggest everyone who buys these to watch the video before molding so they don't ruin one set of their Thermo Fit Molds as I did by over-shaping them. Although they can be remolded, they are essentially destroyed if the hole in the middle closes. I was saved by Decibullz's complimentary pair of Thermo Fit molds that come with the percussive filter set, but I do wish their instructions were more explicit about this step. The second problem I encountered had nothing to do with the product itself, but rather with the Add-ons that Amazon recommends you buy together with the Decibullz Percussive Filters. They appear to be suggesting the lanyard and the carrying case. First of all, you get two Decibullz Percussive Filters for the price of one because they come with a case (although this isn't immediately clear from the Amazon product description). The Decibullz Lanyard is the second option from Amazon; however, if you buy it, the percussive filter features are fully defeated, and you end up with ear plugs. The Decibullz website states that they are developing a lanyard specifically for the Percussive Filters; however, while the one that has been recommended will function, you won't be able to hear too much.If you buy and install them as suggested by Amazon, you'll essentially be paying more than $50 for a Decibullz ear plug that lacks percussion. Buyers should exercise caution when following Amazon's advice because, while you are free to return the goods if they are defective, you will be responsible for the cost of transportation. Research those before you add them to your cart because that policy doesn't seem fair when Amazon is suggesting purchases that have nothing to do with the item you are buying. If anything, I wish I had seen the video before attempting to mold the Thermo Fit Molds, but aside from that, I'm extremely delighted with my purchase.

I genuinely enjoy these. I've owned these for a while and have used them in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments. I frequently leave the caps free to allow low-level noises like regular speaking voices to pass through. It's not crystal clear, but it's far more tangible than an ordinary earplug. These will feel and work like a typical foam earplug if you cap the ears. You must ensure that the earplugs you use to seal your ears are the appropriate size. That lesson was swiftly learnt when I used my gun. When I didn't have the earplug in properly, it caused me a brief ring in my ear, but after fiddling with it a little, I was sure it gave me the proper seal. Using the proper earbud size hasn't caused me any problems in the post.Cord use is entirely optional. These work perfectly for me without interfering with any of my shooting or making me feel like I have something hanging from me when moving around the range because they don't have a cord. These are, in my opinion, your best option if you want ear protection that provides you with something akin to electronic pass ear protection without investing in the complete electronic over ear headgear.

Since I shoot competitively, hearing protection is crucial. Over-the-ear muffs, in my experience, almost always give me a headache. mostly because they cause my safety glasses to press against my head's side. My inner ear is always irritated by inner ear buds or those spongy growing buds. I had to pull them out in order to attempt to scratch the inside of my ear.I've wanted custom-molded earplugs for a while, but the hundreds of dollars that most firms ask have always seemed excessive to me. The first thing that attracted me to these was the variety of colors when I came across them on a random google search one day. I decided to give them a try after learning that many of my fellow shooters utilized these after doing some research for a few days. Since they actually sit in your ear, I was still apprehensive because I was worried about the itching issue. The entire molding procedure is simple. Choose the right size bud for your ear, cover the hole with the included plug, place one in boiling water for around five minutes, let it cool somewhat, and then insert it into your ear. From there, you can form it whatever you choose. It really doesn't take more than a few minutes for it to dry or harden. Then you repeat the process with the other ear. You may just put it back in the boiling water and start over if you make a mistake or don't like how it turns out.At a game last weekend, I utilized them for the first time, and they were great. The effectively blacked out everything. The range officer, the timer beep, and conversations close by could still be heard, but the sound of gunfire was noticeably muffled. The sound is much louder than an ordinary 9mm because I shoot in the open and with 9mm major ammo. What's best? Not even my ears itched!I'll probably buy a couple more pairs to give as presents to my close shooting friends and perhaps even as a backup. The electronic earbuds would be the next best option, but are they actually necessary? The two buds don't seem to be connected in any way, which is my sole criticism. That way, if I did take one out and run the chance of losing it, I wouldn't have to hold onto one. It would simply be attached to the other one using some form of string.
