Horses are generally OK in the snow, as long as they are properly acclimated and have access to shelter. Horses that are used to living outside will usually fare better in the snow than those that are not. It is important to make sure that horses have access to food and water, as they can get dehydrated and hungry more easily in the cold weather. If a horse is not used to the cold, it is important to slowly acclimate them to it so that they do not get sick.

Elastic Strap
Replacement part for Weatherbeeta Blanket or Strap
$234
Leg straps are repeatedly stretched out until they have no flexibility left by our horses. These have lovely double end snaps that are simple to take out while cleaning the blankets, which is why we adore them. The second kind, which has an open loop at one end, ends up covered with unpleasant horse manure and is nearly impossible to remove. The greatest strap we could find for the money.

superior blanket. Although the box lists 250 grams of polyfill, the description stated 300 grams (which is perfect for my horses). Compared to the same style in the Tough-1 Rain Sheet, the fit is a tad snug. For this blanket to fit the same as that rain sheet, I would get a size larger. I appreciate the front buckle fastening a lot. If the belly straps were fully detachable like the Professional's Choice Equisential blankets, it would receive a 5-star rating. Even without changing it, the high neck fit is great.

For my large horse, I adore the Tough1 blankets. We have a lot of minis, but none of them have ever needed a blanket in the cold. You understand what I'm talking about if you own minis. In the winter, they have a woolly mammoth appearance. But we've only recently welcomed a 6-year-old to our herd. The previous owners had shaved him to the extent where pink skin was visible before we bought him. Unsure of the reason. Although he has done an excellent job of growing his coat back, he still doesn't have nearly the coat of the other minis, and with the temperature in northern Ohio suddenly plummeting down into the single digits, it was clear that he needed a little more assistance. We placed our order for this on Wednesday, and thanks to my Prime delivery, it arrived by Friday morning at 8AM. The fact that this miniature blanket was constructed to be just as substantial as my large horse blanket pleased me. On products for small horses, too many individuals cut corners. This features great, substantial buckles up front, a substantial belly strap, and then heavy-duty elastic leg straps. About 20 minutes after we received the blanket, he was overjoyed to wear it. 10/10, would definitely repurchase. I have no doubt that it will hold up just as well as the 84" blanket I use for my Quarter Horse.

I adore this throw. I've relied on Weaver products for years, and when they put their name on this ProCool blanket, they don't let me down. I have a range of sizes for each breed of FFA exhibit lambs and goats. A need in Texas' summer show season because to the intense heat in order to protect the animals during transit or to keep off dirt and dust. Simple maintenance; mild cycle for washing; hang to dry. I would suggest this item to anyone who exhibits goats or lambs. Additionally, I advise getting one in an appropriate size so it can grow with your animals. They actually endure. Hint: We muffle ours on the way to shows to prevent them from getting as much nibbled on.

Due to the low temperature of -31 F with a wind chill of -50 here in Iowa tonight, we received three of these today.I took a measurement from the top of their back to the center of their chest as instructed. I sized up to a 42 because I was in between sizes. The absolute ideal fit. Given that the 40 is adjustable and the 42 is on one of the tighter settings, I'm sure I could have made it work as well.Their large bellies were perfectly covered by the belly straps. On the smallest adjustment, the leg straps fit perfectly. As soon as I put their blanket on, it was -2 outside, and when I put my palm between their back and the blanket, they were incredibly warm. The fabric appears to be quite thick and of excellent quality. Given that we only use these blankets sometimes, the 1200D is a good investment because they should last us for many years. adorable little tail cover that serves as a rain shield. I can't stress how much I like this. Nothing about the design, functionality, or quality of this blanket would I change.

In Missouri, where I live, my pet Zebu gets cold. He could undo the velcro on dog coats, but they only kind of fit. This coat made of a shetland pony fits perfectly. He is sporting a 38" (I could have gone with the 40") It is secured to him with two buckles on his chest, back leg straps, and belly cross straps. For a personalized fit, all straps are adjustable. He looks fantastic in purple, and it's warm and waterproof. Although I haven't had to wash it yet, with caution it appears to wash well. Knowing that my tiny one is warm and dry makes me joyful.

This Tough-1 Storm-Buster blanket has provided me with the protection I've needed all winter. My elderly horse lacked insulation because he had been purchased from a feed pen at the start of the winter. For him, this blanket was ideal. He is a roller, and this blanket was not prepared for how savage he can be to them. As a result, I have had to stitch those back straps on twice already. The blanket itself is still in terrific shape, though, and I believe it will survive another year. It is thus absolutely worth the cost.

good, sturdy, and long-lasting construction. During wet blizzards, kept horse dry and toasty without adding bulk. For the perfect fit, there are many straps. It's unusual for my mule, but this blanket will endure a while.
No, you should not leave wet rugs on horses. Wet rugs can cause the horse to develop a skin condition called dermatitis.
A horse needs a rug if the weather is cold and/or wet. A rug will protect the horse from the elements and keep him/her warm and dry.
Assuming you need to dry your horse off after a bath or a swim, here are a few tips: -Use a sweat scraper or a brush to remove excess water from your horse's coat. -If you have access to a horse dryer, use that to speed up the process. -If it's warm out, you can turn your horse out into the sun to dry off. -Another option is to use towels to dry your horse off. Be sure to rub in the same direction of the hair to avoid creating any tangles
There are a few ways to tell if a horse is cold. One is to feel their nose - if it is cold and wet, they are likely cold. Another is to look at their coat - if they are shivering or have their coat raised in patches, they are likely cold.
Horses are able to keep warm in winter by growing a thicker coat of fur. They will also spend more time huddled together in groups to share body heat.
Horses are able to generate a lot of body heat, so they don't need blankets to keep warm in most cases. If it's very cold outside, you can provide your horse with a shelter to block the wind, and make sure they have plenty of hay to eat. Horses with long hair can grow a winter coat, which will help keep them warm. If your horse must be outside in cold weather, you can use a horse blanket to help keep them warm, but be sure to remove it during the day so they don't overheat.
