Composition books are not hardcover. They are usually made of cardboard with a paper or plastic cover.
A lot of people love Moleskine notebooks because they are so well made. The pages are nice and smooth, and the covers are very sturdy. They also have a lot of different sizes and styles to choose from. However, they are definitely not the cheapest option out there. So, are they worth it? It really depends on what you need a notebook for. If you just need something to jot down notes in, then there are definitely cheaper options available. However, if you need something that is going to last a long time and look good doing it, then
There are advantages and disadvantages to both spiral and bound notebooks. It really depends on the person's needs and preferences. Spiral notebooks are often less expensive than bound notebooks, and they lay flat when open, which can be more comfortable for some people. They also have pockets in the front and back covers, which can be useful for storing loose papers. On the downside, the wires can be easily bent and the pages can tear out more easily than with a bound notebook. Bound notebooks are more expensive than spiral notebooks, but they are also more durable. The pages are
To make a hardback notebook, you will need a few supplies. First, gather together a stack of papers that are the same size. Next, find a hardcover book that is the same size as the papers. Carefully remove the book's spine, being careful not to rip the pages. Once the spine is removed, line up the pages of the book with the papers and glue them together. Finally, allow the glue to dry and then replace the spine.

I looked into every kind of bullet journal I could find, but due of its low cost, I decided to try this one. I was pleasantly surprised by this journal. It is just what I had hoped it would be and far finer than the diaries I discovered on the racks of nearby shops. Things I cherish:It seems thicker than an index card and is significantly heavier/sturdier than the other journals I've looked at. The paper is thick and substantial feeling (120 gsm). You receive 128 pages (if you count both sides), which is the ideal number to make the journal a suitable size and not too heavy. Compared to items of a bigger size, it can easily fit inside a purse. The paper is thick and of great quality, so depending on the sort of marker you use and how much color you saturate the page with, it accepts ink/coloring with little bleed and ghosting. No bleed through occurred when I used a black Sharpie pen with a fine point on the pages, however there is some little ghosting on the opposite side of the page if you use the Sharpie to color a sizable portion of the page. Except when I brought a page up to the light, I didn't experience any ghosting else. I wouldn't recommend using a thick Sharpie because I think it might bleed through. On the paper, Prismacolor colored pencils spread evenly and produce excellent results. Markers from Prismacolor DO bleed through! Additionally, I used glitter markers that didn't bleed through.I don't have to worry about the paper deteriorating over time because it is acid-free. The pages lay flat while you write despite the thick, protective faux leather cover. It is comfortable in the hand. It includes a back pocket, a bookmark, and an elastic band to hold the pages shut while not in use (so it won't fly open in a backpack, etc.). The dot grid is even and constant, with light-colored dots that don't obscure writing or sketching. The spots are separated by approximately 5 mm.The pages are unnumbered and cream in tone. The "title" page's three centered lines are appealing.Making the dots even lighter gray would be the one alteration I would make to ensure that they are "just" visible. That's only a matter of taste. Dots don't get in the way of writing or sketching. As I prefer using colored pencils over markers in my bullet journal, I'd just like them to be even lighter. Aside from that very tiny issue, this is a top-notch journal at a great price. Try this one instead of doing a ton of research (like I did).:-) It's strong, well-made, and can't be topped on price!

Was I surprised to find these amazing notebooks from BooQool? Definitely not.I am an experienced journalist who made the decision 25–30 years ago to begin documenting daily happenings. At first, I didn't use a system; I just wrote on anything, and after realizing that I couldn't always identify the event that occurred, I started modifying the manner I was keeping my records.Using daily and monthly planners was one strategy that was successful for a while; it was the least expensive way to keep track of the happenings of each day. This worked up until this year, when the majority of cheap daily/monthly plans were hard to come by. I had been using 8x12 planners up to that moment, which ran from July to June of the following year. Everyone was rushing to get these hard to find, one date, one page planners this middle of the year. There aren't many available. I purchased the start date of August to July out of desperation because I could find only pricey planner systems. The only way I could continue using the smaller planner was to purchase an additional Notebook to use in addition to the other smaller dated calendar. I thought buying a smaller size planner would solve my problem, but I immediately realized I didn't have enough area to write the days activities. I am certain I have found my new way to journal after discovering this firm, purchasing their notebook, and using it.You may record dates that your book covers with the BooQool Classic Ruled Notebooks since they include high-quality paper, no bleed-through, traditional lines, and robust covers. Additionally, they include the most excellent feature of all—self-dating when you record the record—as well as a durable black ribbon to designate your page. The book is flat, which is excellent. I usually start at the back with the oldest date and always place the newest date at the front.I appreciate BooQool's excellent product.

I've never bought a writing notebook like this before. I was about to get a Moleskine, but after reading some unfavorable reviews, I realized the paper wasn't as beautiful as it once was. This notebook looks and feels nice and costs less than half as much as a Moleskine. I absolutely appreciate how flat it rests when opened.Although I have never used a Moleskine or any other brand that is comparable, this notebook is of excellent quality and will more than satisfy my needs.Although I would prefer it to come in more colors, the standard black is perfect with me.NEWS JAN 2019: A Moleskine notebook was in the possession of a store employee while I was there yesterday. I compared the Moleskine to the Huhuhero notebook by looking at it. The Moleskine's cover didn't reach quite as far past the edge of the paper as the Huhuhero's and wasn't quite as thick or firm, but it felt fine. The Moleskine pages felt substantially thinner than the hefty pages in the Huhuhero when I felt their thickness. Now I know why the negative reviews I read complained about the Moleskine's thin pages and potential for bleeding through.I was able to confirm that the Huhuhero notebook is really excellent quality and a wonderful value for the price after seeing the Moleskine. The Moleskine Classic notebook's paper weight was hard to find, but it turns out to be 70 gsm. The Huhuhero notebook specifies 125 gsm as the paper weight. This is a significant distinction that becomes apparent as soon as you feel the Huhuhero pages' thickness.

Cost-effective log book is the goal. Undoubtedly vegan. preferable not to be uglyMy husband and I meticulously organize our yearly road trip for Record Store Day (yes, it's a real holiday), finding as many participating indie record stores as we can visit throughout the day to purchase our carefully-selected recordings from the exclusive list. The names and locations of the participating stores needed to be organized, our shopping lists needed to be written down or typed, and I needed to save all of these scraps with our receipts for the duration of the trip.We celebrate our wedding anniversary on Record Store Day, therefore I preserve all of these pieces of paper with our photo albums, etc. I try to arrange as I type our lists. The weight and size were excellent. It is lightweight and appealing. Despite the binder being inexpensive, the binder rings do function (I had worried!). Although the cover is thin and I haven't tested its weight, it held up well to repeated opening and closing over a short period of time (as vinyl might have). We used the materials all day long. We made notes on the kraft paper that came with it (such as tolls or a map of rest spots!). We made our lists on dot-grid paper to make referencing simpler. To keep our receipts together, we punctured the sides of a sealed envelope and cut across the top of it. In case the GPS didn't work, I also printed out the directions to each location. In a tiny area, I wanted to try to organize a lot of things, which was not my strongest suit. It succeeded.I took it with me so we could consult our lists and make notes about the stores for the following year. I can carry this again the following year because it's a binder and I can neatly detach the pages to save for ever in another binder.

When I can't afford to spend the money on an A5 Molskine/Leuchtturm notebook or don't want to, this is now without a doubt my new go-to notepad. There are a few important considerations to keep in mind while looking at this notebook, none of which are terrible and all of which I am MORE THAN comfortable with given the price point:1. Despite the item's title, it is not real A5. It is actually 5" X 8.3", as stated in the description, which is substantially smaller than an actual A5 notebook. Although I prefer this unusual size, there isn't a significant enough variation to make the notebook appear or feel unnatural.2. My Yellow notebook has a somewhat more orange hue than it does in the photo. Although the quantity of orange varies depending on the screen, the image still appears to be slightly more like "mac-and-cheese" than "sunshine" in real life (if that makes sense ha). Though still lovely!3. There appears to be a significant space between the notebook's spine and the vinyl covering the cover, which is bound with what appears to be a soft vinyl. If you press down on the spine of this book, it seems loose and you can feel the bumps of the paper binding, in contrast to other notebooks where the spine feels firm and has little give (help, I don't know the proper book terminology here hehe). This is just one of those feel-quirks that might be off-putting to folks with strong beliefs about how they want their notebooks, but it has no bearing on how functional this notebook is.4. I like that the paper in this notebook is a little bit thicker than the paper in a Leuchtturm/Molskine. I've been using Papermate Flair pens and Staedtler Triplus Fineliners in mine, and while there is some ghosting (acceptable in my opinion), there is absolutely no bleed. When you turn the pages, they make a satisfyingly stiff, crinkly sound.5. Where the elastic band was forced on my notebook's cover, there is a small warping or imprint. Even though it is only superficially evident when gazing directly at the book's finish,6. It has a cute tiny pocket in the back that is quite handy! Was ecstatic about that part, ha.The only way I could really see this notebook being better in my view is if it had printed page numbers, but that would be a fairly simple adjustment.

Markings on Brown Ruled Paper Bonded Leather Journal by C.R. Gibson (MJ5-4792)Edited on 2/23/17. This journal has been reordered and is now back to its previous splendor! a page with more ruled lines. No margins left unruled. I've ordered the same journal several times. I'm so glad it's back. I'll continue to order this in the future.FIRST POST: I have previously placed seven orders for this journal (MJ5-4792) dating back to 2013. Every day at work, I utilize it. Up until this point, I would have given this product a 5-star rating. But with the most recent order (8/31/16), I've altered my mind. I have no use for the new page layout. Less ruled lines are present on each page. I liked the thinner lines more since I could fit more text on each page. There is also a 1" unruled margin now. No margins were left unruled in the previous edition. Again, this implies that I have considerably less room to write on each page than in the previous version. For me, the unruled margins are a waste of space even though they may be useful for others. I'll begin looking for a another product. If CR Gibson still offers the older model, I'll keep purchasing it and raise my star rating to 5. If they were going to make this type of alteration, it would have been good if they had used a different model number. When I see an item on Amazon that I like, I click "purchase again," but the item is now a different one. On the Amazon product page, an image of the updated page layout must to be present. I've added a snapshot of my own that contrasts the new MJ54792 with the previous MJ5-4792.

I love this hardcover notebook for my bullet journal, though I'm not sure I'm hooked on the dotted version (AKA neverending to-do list). This is a bit of an adjustment for me because I'm used to using a smaller, soft-sided, lined journal, but so far it's working out well. It is protected from bending in my bag by the sturdy cover, and the elastic band keeps it tight. One of my favorite features is the twin bookmarks, which instantly navigate me to the current pages. When I make my own bullet journals out of blank books, I never seem to compute the table of contents effectively, so I enjoy that the notebook comes with a few pages for one at the front. Additionally, the pocket in the back is a wonderful addition, however I find that stuffing it with more than a few little notes prevents the book from closing completely.Using the dotted pages has the advantage of making grids more orderly without the need for a ruler. (Even with a ruler, I can't manage to draw a straight line!) For more artistic people who wish to draw freely in their notebooks, it might not work; for them, you might prefer the blank pages. For those who write frequently, lined pages could be preferred. I find that trying to write in between the tiny shaded dots sometimes gives me a touch cross-eyed, so after this notebook, I might go back to lined pages. Although it makes me write a little bit smaller, it's hard on my eyes.I adore the cheerful, brilliant yellow color of this book, and I would purchase it again.I should have added that I still adore this journal after two years. Since purchasing this initial one, I've purchased two more (each in a different color), and I've developed a routine for employing the dots. I mostly use Staedtler pens and Mildliners because the paper does allow many pens and highlighters to seep through to the opposite side. Unless I find one I love better, I'll continue to purchase this brand and type of notebook, but it sets a rather high bar.

This is my first Moleskine notebook, and while I am pleased with my purchase, I could have chosen another one if I had understood a few things beforehand. This review is meant to aid you in making decisions, not to disparage the product. I have a shelf full of different types of note-taking notebooks that I have been using for years to take notes in. Going forward, I'll probably choose this brand first. They have my recommendation.Misc Observations:- The statement in the Amazon description that the last 16 pages are detachable is slightly inaccurate. Only the first few pages are not perforated; the other pages are all removable.- I didn't read the specifications, but this book is VERY thin—it has just 96 pages and is merely 1/4" thick. That escaped my notice when I placed my order because the small photo made it appear larger. Again, this is not a criticism of the product; it is merely a heads-up. Next time, I'll hunt for a notepad with more pages.- The right side of the main graphic has two black lines across it; at first I thought these were straps to hold the pages in place, but they are simply lines on the wrapper.- If you travel with both, they can be stacked together nicely because they are the exact size to fit an iPad mini.

Very simply. That's it. Time to proceed. In every meeting I attend as part of my corporate employment, I use this. I use this stuff "Power User" style. What I enjoy about it and recommended practices are listed below. This evaluation is lengthy because at one point in my professional life, all I wanted to know was what other people in my field were using, why they were using it, and how.I would wear a t-shirt honoring this notepad if it existed. I would be the front-facing statue if there were a product user hall of fame for this notebook. I've been purchasing and using one after the other for a while. I look at various offers on Amazon before making every new buy, but none of them have the functionality I need for regular business use. What I enjoy about the Cambridge 6100 notebook is as follows:1) Hard cardboard covers that are thick and durable and have a faux leather finish. enables you to write on your lap while in a conference without a desk or when you need help to write on the back of a sheet. It also looks professional. Never purchase flexible covers; they are difficult to use on a regular basis. Purchase no plastic covers (they look like high school). The inside sides of the hard covers are white paper, which you may use to jot down quick-reference information like names and organizational structures.2) You can keep it open all day without taking up more space on your desk than one 8.5x11 footprint thanks to the spirals' durable design, which also allows for full fold-over lay-flat without damaging the binding. The spirals are made of metal with a black plastic coating to give them toughness and refinement. They are also made to resist binding up quickly, unlike notebooks from high school. Spiral notebooks are always preferable to bound notebooks.three) Pages are college ruled. thin lines allow for a lot of note-taking on a page. Although the pages are perforated, I never remove them (kind of the notion of a notebook), but occasionally someone else (looking at you, wife, and teenage daughter) and it helps to hand them a piece without leaving that trail of mess. Pages feature a vertical outer margin, which I use to write down urgent tasks or today's huge rocks (large important to-dos).4) Front plastic pocket that is clear. intended to hold something significant, although it works best with documents smaller than 8.5x11 in size. True, one can fit there, but it requires some finesse. If the notebook has a design issue, it is that an 8.5x11 piece of paper is difficult to fit into the plastic pocket. But in the end, it turns out to be a good thing because if it operated normally, I could be tempted to carry and then forget about things in it. I currently use it in the meantime for business cards and other tiny pieces of paper.5) The stickers, the stickers, the stickers. They are a huge assistance. The notebook serves its intended purpose of being kept around for reference after you are finished with it. I record the year and number when I'm finished (2018 #2).Best practices: Use one notebook, and only one. Just one, not one for business, one for church, one for personal use. With a notebook, you can keep track of all of your tasks and notes in one place rather than having them scattered over your life on post-its and different papers. This advantage of "The One Notebook" is nullified if you keep many notebooks for various aspects of your life. Additionally, while using numerous notebooks, contamination will always occur. When you only have that notebook in your possession at the time, adding personal notes to your work notebook and vice versa. Use only one. If necessary, color-code it, but only use one color.2) When I first enter the office, I mark the spot on the page where I left off the previous day with a line, and I put the date in the left column beneath the line. I put the date in the upper left corner and 'cont' for continuing if I go through the edge of the page and onto the following page. In order to quickly identify where meetings began, I always write down the name of the meeting and draw a thick walled box around it when I'm in a meeting or on a call. If I ever adopt or create an action, I always begin by drawing a circle with a star in it for quick and simple identification. The circle-star is then drawn when I move that task to my cloud-based task tracker. In this method, I can quickly see that I've audited and changed everything.Enjoy.
