There are a few reasons why someone might prefer a rain chain over a downspout. For one, rain chains can be more aesthetically pleasing than downspouts. They come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and materials, so you can find one that fits your style. They also tend to be less expensive than downspouts. Another advantage of rain chains is that they are less likely to clog than downspouts. When leaves and other debris fall into a rain chain, they can simply be brushed away. With a downspout, however, they can
If your home is flooding or you’re worried about water damage, you may be wondering how you can direct rainwater away from your house. Luckily, there are a few things you can do to keep your home dry. One way to direct rainwater away from your house is to install gutters and downspouts. Gutters collect rainwater and direct it away from your home, while downspouts carry the water even further away. You can also add extensions to your downspouts to make sure the water is directed well away from your foundation. Another
Downspouts should be buried a minimum of 6 inches deep to ensure they are not damaged by lawn care equipment or freezing temperatures.

This extension's flexible pipe functionality was the only reason I utilized it. Because I thought the sizes were far too sloppy for my tastes, I had no inclination to use the downspout connectors on the device. Inside the container, a 2x3 drainpipe wiggles around. As an alternative, I wanted to fasten a Flex-Drain 53102 2x3 downspout adapter to the end of this lengthy pipe, leaving the 53102 protruding above the ground to accommodate my downspout. The downspout receptacle on the 53102 fits a 2x3 downspout much more snugly and tightly, which I preferred for my home.A connector that will fit into either the inside of a 4" corrugated pipe or the outside of a 3" pipe remains after each downspout from the end of the 85010 has been removed. The former I've tested and validated, but not the latter. In order to connect these Flex-Drain male coupling ends, I subsequently purchased a Flex-Drain 55020 female coupler. When you push them together, an 85010 and a 53102 are created at each end. Connect to your corrugated pipe, adjust the assembly to your needs by stretching and positioning it, then cover it with earth. I'm guessing that since Flex-Drain refers to "subterranean" use, it won't degrade when buried.I've included a picture of my flexible pipe construction with annotations for clarification because a picture may often be worth a thousand words.

They are superb. People have commented on how thin they are, and they are, but have a look at the price. Of course, they are made in China; at least, it is clearly stated. That almost feels reviving. ANYTHING that diverts water away from the house is important and advantageous when downspouts are pouring water into your foundation. However, it is also recognized that they are relatively brief. They also indicate that you can bury them, but I wouldn't do that because it isn't a long-term solution. If these were stretched out, the weight of the compacted earth alone would at least start to bring them down. However, as a stopgap and for something quick, they are fine. They readily slipped over the lower elbows on my downspouts. They also have black and white, but I had no idea I had ordered green. Almost everyone should be able to use all three colors. I'd repurchase them because they were adequate. We haven't experienced any rain yet, and installation has only been going on for one day.

My grass slopes noticeably away from the home, and I got tired of patching the erosion that my downspouts were causing. I wanted a means to connect some 4" PVC that I was intending to bury in the ground to my standard-size downspout. These were flawless. You can stretch them to the required length and bend them to accommodate the bend from the almost vertical PVC to the vertical downspout. They installed in about a minute and function flawlessly. If only PVC trench digging could be as painless!

Instead of using it for its typical purpose of preventing rainwater gutter drainage from accumulating around home foundations, I purchased an EMSCO splash block in the aim of *directing water away from my SHOES when using one of my outside water faucets*. Now that I've seen their durability against a strong water force, I intend to purchase more of them in the near future for their regular use as well!I use this one outdoor faucet every day, however prior to purchasing this EMSCO splash block, the assault of water that resulted in a mini-flood from the faucet area all the way down to where I was standing would always soak my shoes.I started a careful examination of Amazon's offerings because I was aware that I would need some sort of "water-redirect" to halt the daily foot soaks. I finally found this splash block after a series of ideas, and I'm glad I did because I can now work comfortably — without sloshing around afterwards in water-heavy shoes — on the hanging water source I set up for the wild birds and comfortably maintain the concrete birdbath that's too heavy to move. It only needed to be positioned more horizontally in relation to the foundation with a tiny downward slant to allow the water to flow around me before emptying out at a location farther away.I really value the block's solid width, as well as its evenness and short retaining walls. Since I have to fill a sizable stainless steel bowl with water to take it over to clean and refill the birdbath, these qualities are very vital to me. I had to set the bowl on the uneven ground beneath the faucet before the splash block arrived, spilling a fifth of the water. It was also difficult to lift it off the ground because it was not supported by anything beneath it. The heavy bowl of water is less inclined now, making it much simpler to grasp and raise. This splash block is a fantastic illustration, in my opinion, of how many things may be utilized for reasons other than those for which they were designed. I am so appreciative to have discovered EMSCO's Natural Resin Splash Block since it has made my daily provision of water to the wild birds — and much more so for the cleaning and refilling of birdbaths — so much easier. Naturally, my favorite parts of all involve my shoes! Life gets better every day.

I received it today and I headed to work. However, I must admit that I like cleaning the gutters.Keep in mind that the extension pole is not included. Fortunately, I already had one. I advise viewing a few YouTube videos on it first. One was made by the author, and the other was done by a man who wore a pole holder around his waist. This was a wise decision. Any form of holding, such as a work belt with a pocket, can work. I purchased a cheap fishing pole holder from Amazon.I made a serious error by opening it. The clamps were shut when they were delivered. A little metal clasp keeps the door closed. Don't think that the fishing line needs to be cut, as I did.I had to tie another knot as a result, and it now opens only partially by approximately an inch.I was prepared to work on the gutters after setting the top at the proper angle and putting the pole in my belt holder. Due to the expense of hiring someone to work on my two-story property, installing gutters has become a nightmare. Even at the age of three, I was considering getting them removed. I despised the constant hassle and expense.I got started by doing what the videos' instructions and advice suggested.Everything took me around 10 to 15 minutes to figure it out. I then began to cruise. It was a joy to hear the water release when it broke free. This was incredibly easy and safer than using a ladder. It seemed to do a good job from what I could see of the first story gutters.I wouldn't have minded paying for an extension pole if I had to. It was fantastic and enjoyable to be able to do this on my own. I looked at another model on Amazon, but you had to constantly be looking up while being directly underneath the gutter. With this one, you may stand farther away from the house without straining your neck or tripping over debris. I heartily endorse this item.

We put it in on a downspout where there was a washout issue where both the grass and a flowerbed would wash away. A rainstorm the following day put it to the test. The concrete path was reached by rolling out the drain away downspout extender across the bed, which dispersed the water flow and prevented the grass beyond the walk from washing away. The hole has been filled in, and grass seed has been sown. The extension was fully rolled back up and prepared for the next downpour when the rain ceased. Other reviews may have indicated that it doesn't fully fold up, but we're not sure. My own does!
There are a few ways to attach a gutter downspout to a house. One way is to use a bracket that attaches to the house and has a hole for the downspout to fit into. Another way is to use a strap that goes around the downspout and attaches to the house.
Downspouts should extend at least four feet from the house to prevent water from seeping into the foundation.
The number of downspouts a house should have is dependent on the amount of rainfall the house experiences and the size of the roof. A general rule of thumb is that there should be one downspout for every 600 square feet of roof.
The cost to install a downspout can vary depending on the material and size of the downspout. The average cost to install a downspout is between $100 and $200.
Most gutters are installed so that they slope slightly towards the downspouts. This helps water flow more easily towards the downspouts and prevents leaves and other debris from clogging the gutters. However, this also means that the end of the downspouts is often slightly above the ground. This can cause water to pool around the base of the downspouts and potentially damage the foundation of your home. It is generally best to have the end of the downspouts extend a few inches past the edge of your gutters and touch the ground. This will help ensure
