Like the other skeptics there, I had my doubts about this headset's ability to meet my needs. I got my daughter this headset so we can play online together. I didn't want to spend too much money, but I knew that getting a headset from Walmart would be disastrous.I just put these babies into my Gigabyte motherboard, and it only took me a few minutes to use the Realtek audio manager to shape the sound the way I wanted it to sound. Let me tell you, these things sound fantastic. I work with audio on a daily basis and have for many years. I would let you know if these seemed terrible.I myself own a SteelSeries Siberia 840, and I would say that the 840's sound quality is competitive. Naturally, I didn't actually purchase the Siberias to use as concert-quality drivers. The wifi and Bluetooth capabilities were more important. Let me be clear: I adore my wifi 840, but I wouldn't have any trouble taking the U3 on the road if I had to.The bass response is excellent. Low-frequency noises have subtle thumps that you may feel. But it also has a very tight sound. Bass isn't sloppy. Highs and mids are crystal clear. As I already mentioned, adjust your sound with your EQ, and you'll be astounded.Additionally, the mic is crystal clear. With just the default mic gain set to 100% in Windows, I get excellent levels in Discord. Even with a 10db increase, there is barely any hiss. If you raise it over that in a reasonably noisy setting, you will begin to hear a hiss.The only drawback I have with these is that, although having plenty of room inside the cup, the size for my ears is somewhat smaller than I prefer. I'm so accustomed to my 840s' large, thick cushions. I am spoiled, I know. Additionally, because the cups are rigid and cannot be turned, wearing one off your head for a lengthy amount of time is likely to become uncomfortable.In conclusion, buy them. The nicest thing is that you are only out $16 if you simply don't trust anyone.

Except for surround-sound noise canceling headphones that I could use for gaming, I wasn't really sold on any particular brand or design. They were trustworthy and worth every penny until lately, when they abruptly ceased to function. For games like Fortnite, PUBG, GTA V, RDR2, and others, I mostly used these. These make excellent starter headphones or headsets, in my opinion! In the end, they are priced somewhat below their true quality, making them a bit of a value! You should anticipate paying the same price if you want serious gaming headphones. While they lasted, these satisfied my desire for a better gaming experience as a competitive gamer (not a ninja or Twitch streamer). UPDATE FOR 2018 - Up until December 2017, my son had no concerns about this headset. He came to me and explained that the cord's really cool-looking braided sleeve was breaking at the plug end. There didn't appear to be much extra covering the cables besides the sleeve. But the headset kept functioning flawlessly. However, I did get in touch with the vendor and let them know that the braided sleeve was fraying. They honestly assured me that a brand-new replacement will be sent without charge. They did so without hesitation. They didn't even request that I return the broken headset. They provided a lovely answer to an unpleasant problem. The headset is still a good enough product, so we were content to accept a replacement. Due to the approaching birthday of my other son, I will shortly be purchasing a new headset. If you're searching for a cheap substitute for a pricey headset like turtle beach, I still suggest this one. My other son is requesting TB treatment. I bought these headphones initially so I could use them with my Xbox One. These are great overall and worth the money. However, in my opinion, the microphone's sensitivity is its worst flaw.The ear cushions are attractive and feel like they were made using high-quality materials, and the headphones are really pleasant to wear.-The headphones can be adjusted in a number of locations to ensure a comfortable fit.-The control panel, or whatever it is, where you change the volume and other things, isn't big and awkward.-I love that the mic is detachable for when I just want to listen to music. I can. There is also excellent loudness, treble, and bass.The microphone has a lot of sensitivity. This is one of my drawbacks, however other people might like mics to be designed this way. When I play, I avoid this problem by keeping the microphone far from me, but even so, background noise from my 7-person home is easily audible.Better noise cancellation is possible. The ear cushions don't provide much noise reduction, so occasionally I'll hear anything going on outside the game in my house and mistake it for in-game activity. This is offset by the fact that the level is loud enough and not everyone has a menagerie like I do.These are excellent overall, and the only negatives are subjective or circumstantial. Everything is fine, especially for the price, except the fact that the noise cancellation may be much better. I have to put up with so many of my friends who are continuously blasting noise at me from their microphones. I use this with my Xbox One and convert it using amzn.com/B018ZTNEQE. (Note: Converting from x360 to x1 requires more than simply a size change; some of the jack's poles must be switched.) I also possess the Astro A40 and mix amp, and I've had this headset for over two months. I have to admit that I probably wouldn't use them if the Rig 400 didn't function with the Astro mix amp. I try to stick with the best wired headsets because I don't like wireless ones. Even so, this product isn't awful. They feel good on the top of your head and are very lightweight. Because of how little the ear cups are, they eventually cause my ears pain. However, I thought it would be lying if I gave this headset three stars. I truly do like this headset because it is so lightweight, and the sound quality is still superior to any Turtle Beach headset in my view even without the Astro mix amp. They are also incredibly strong. Compared to my Astros, I'm not as frightened to drop them. Not a bad purchase at $50.
