I think Kreg screws are top-notch. Although the square drive hole is almost tough to strip out, I have occasionally managed it. I have never had a Kreg screw head fall off. Despite the "drill it while it screws itself in" claim, these coarse screws enter the wood quite quickly and will often require a pilot hole. I frequently use the fine screws in their place to avoid splits because I have split quite a few pieces of wood with these screws. Excellent for particle board, but not for the ends. In order to stop these screws from tearing off the particle board, you MUST drill a sizable pilot hole.In applications requiring pocket holes, they excel.AD2

The heads are a touch off-center, which can make alignment a little challenging, earning them only 4 out of 5 stars. I believe the man who said they were 3/8 "got the wrong product, to be long. Mine were around half "measured from the base to the tip of the head. The drawers I'm creating are made of 13mm baltic birch ply, and after being sanded, they measured roughly 15/32". As for using them with drawer slides in 1/2" ply, The initial slides I put in left a visible bulge within the drawer but no poke out. They were so close together that I had to drive 15 screws at a time through a scrap piece of plywood before turning it over and grinding the tips off. You'll probably need to do the same or buy 7/16" screws if you need these for drawer slides on 1/2" ply.

In a review on deck screws, I'm not sure what to say other than that they screw. Purchase them here since they are substantially less expensive than at Lowe's or Home Depot. They also need a star driver, which is also provided, to prevent you from stripping them, and they are simple to take off when you need to repair or maintain whatever it is you are making. Which brings up the point that if you don't use these and instead use nails or another fastener, you're going to make life a lot worse for the next person who has to fix your lousy work. Don't be a jerk; do things the right way and construct things to last; however, use quality hardware and consider the next guy who might not want to spend two days hammering nails backwards out of the house's eaves (and definitely don't bend the nails over, making it incredibly difficult to get them out).

The best decking screws I've ever used are without a doubt these. To finish the deck, I needed an additional 65 screws, so I hurried to the nearest big hardware store and purchased a comparable item. Now that I've used these, that was a mistake. They got off to a pretty easy start, pulling the boards tight. There was no wood splitting or cracking, and no screws were stripped out or broken. In the event that I ever have to work on another deck, I will without a doubt buy these again.

All of the positive reviews surprised me a little considering they are just screws. But when I was down to my last box, I had no choice but to switch to premium screws from Lowes. All of a sudden, I began to notice that each of those screws repeatedly spun before engaging with and penetrating the board. The screws would eventually stop before countersinking flush with my deck boards, I realized. You produce fine screws. The lack of a star bit on the #8 screws I purchased from you was my only issue; as a result, I had to halt my project and drive 30 miles to the store and back.

I purchased these in addition to a box of 500 non-blue-coated Kreg screws when building my wife's new kitchen. These don't seem to function quite as well as the screws without the blue covering, and possibly the blue coating is what prevents them from responding to the drivers as well. They are OK, but I noticed that the screws without the blue coating seemed to drive more easily. These might not be your best option unless you truly require the blue coating for damp or moisture-prone locations. In order to finish this project, I purchased extra uncoated screws.

I purchased them to complete the porches on our new home. I purchased them since 1 1/2 screws with a torx head are difficult to obtain in big box stores. The only other screws I had previously used were all tan in hue. These are green when I first opened them after receiving them. They are depicted as being gold in hue in the product description. I bought these mostly to fasten rack rails to a rack mount cabinet's inside. Despite being a little bit shorter than I had imagined, they worked beautifully for fastening the rails. Having said that, the rails feel quite sturdy, and my rack has been operating flawlessly for almost 4 months at this point. The only thing to mention is that I also purchased the rubber feet that are frequently listed in the "customers also bought" section along with these screws. The screws weren't long enough to hold those feet in place, but I had lots of extra ones lying around, so it wasn't a big concern to me. Before making a purchase, please sure to confirm that the length is appropriate for your needs.

When I opened the battery hatch cover on my boat after getting it back from the shop, screws were falling out and the hatch was separating from the hinge. I intended to drill the holes and glue dowels in. I thought highly of these. And even though they were a bit more expensive than dowels and wood glue, I decided to try these. I was forced to remove the tiniest point. and carefully screwed them into place. When I unscrewed one, I was a little let down to notice that the tiny side grips had already been rubbed off. I nevertheless gave them a go, inserting and removing them as directed. My initial reaction is to wish they were made of a slightly tougher material. so that they wouldn't be removed as quickly. However, they were simple to install, clean, and tight. You must be careful when tightening the screws to prevent stripping, but they must be tight enough to prevent movement. It's an eight-year-old boat. I'll consider them strong if they last another five years. :-)
