Due to how easy it was to create a "festive" look with the red color, I bought these for a holiday party.Despite liking how simple it was to use, I only awarded it 4 stars because of a review I read concerning the ability to lay the bottle on its side. This one functions flawlessly. We occasionally drink a bottle of Mumms or Pipers, my wife and I. We very seldom finish the entire bottle, and I've yet to discover a cork that keeps the champagne sparkling and flavorful. It was this one. On March 28, the day before we went for a two-week trip, we used the MiTBA stopper on a half bottle of Pipers. Even though the bottle clamps were a little challenging to engage, the directions that came with the item were simple to understand. I soon discovered that keeping the stopper pressed downward while engaging the clamps caused them to sit perfectly. I placed the bottle in our refrigerator after pumping the stopper until I noticed a little resistance. We got back on April 14, but I didn't test the champagne until April 28 due to other commitments. I tried to disengage the clamps once more by pressing down on the stopper, but nothing happened. However, I was able to retain pressure by slowly pushing the stopper a little bit loose, which produced a pleasant whoosh. As lovely and effervescent as it had been when we had first opened the bottle, the champagne was still in the bottle. This product has met my expectations in every way, and I heartily recommend it.
