These sealers offer excellent insulation. Last winter, we were able to feel a cold breeze blowing through our home before I identified the sockets as the cause. Right now, we're warm and dry. saves money on energy costs as well.We definitely notice a difference after a year has passed. Evidently, these sealers covered the sockets where the house's insulation apparently did not. My grandmother's old metal bay window screens are a little torn and noticeably discolored as I visit her home in NY this week (I live in NJ). To find out how much this kind of service would cost, I looked up some nearby screen repair companies. I also looked up DIY instructions on YouTube. I felt foolish for even considering having someone come and change the screens because, based on the videos, it seemed to not be a particularly difficult project. I got this kit as well as a larger roll of pet screen for her backdoor that was damaged in several spots after searching for screen replacement on Amazon (same brand). As promised, the kit includes screen, spline, and a spline roller. WOW! I completed the door and the window in about an hour (keep in mind that I bought the door screen separately because I needed pet screen for it), taking 15 minutes for the window and 5 of those minutes to figure out how to remove the metal spline without damaging it (YouTube again, super simple). The provided tools and screen were very simple to use. This is very easy to do if you know how to use a drill and/or a hammer to drive a nail. Every time I pass by one of the gorgeous new displays, I can't help but admire them. I am very happy of the work I accomplished, and I'm even prouder that I was able to do this for my 91-year-old grandmother since she couldn't believe that her GRANDDAUGHTER was able "to do such a thing";) A fantastic kit that has everything you need! When I noticed this item on Amazon with the 100' length for about the same price as regular 25' spline packages, I felt I would try it and have extra for future tasks. I needed some spline to replace the screen on a patio door. Since this spline is less dense than the others I've used, it was simple to install and cut. But I worry that the added flexibility would make it more prone to popping out in some situations. However, this was a great deal and worked perfectly for my purposes, so I would suggest it.

I must admit that I was eager for the product. It accomplishes the job, therefore I give it a high rating, but I'm returning it because of a significant problem. The tool came without any instructions on how to use it. Although it appears simple in the photographs, I made a critical error for which I accept responsibility. This is your warning because I should have done more research on how to use the tool. The gadget has two sides, and one of them will RUIN YOUR PROJECT, just like mine did. As seen in the image, I tucked the rubber in with the tool, but if you use it on the incorrect side, your net will get cut on the inside of the door. My fingertips may be seen piercing the picture. To cut it myself, as God intended, I set aside a razor, but this gadget simply eliminated all of my work. I'm angry with both myself and the subpar packing. Put at least a $1 piece of paper on the instrument indicating which side is for which purpose. How difficult could that have been?EDIT*As a gesture of gratitude for the refund of my money, I chose to use it to make a second purchase from the same vendor of the same item. I'll start using a razor from now on just to feel more secure. I changed the rating for excellent customer service from three to four stars.

This product surprised me in a good way. When my puppy spotted a cat in the yard, he tried to get at it by tearing through the screen. The cat escaped unharmed. Not so much the screen. There were several little cuts and holes, as well as a large L-shaped tear that was roughly 10 inches long and 5 inches broad. This screen has an unusual shape and extends from floor to ceiling. I choose to utilize this tape as a temporary fix because it is difficult to find a replacement that is readily available. It's been on the screen for maybe four or five months, and I'm not in a rush to buy a new one. I had to tape the screen that was already in place. Given the size of the screen, it would move in and out considerably. I reasoned that the movement would make it challenging to apply the tape securely enough for it to stay in place. However, the tape was simple to use, effectively sealed the incisions, and remained in place despite temperatures between 102 and 14 degrees.The variety of conflicting opinions over whether or not air actually flowed through the tape perplexed me a little. Some reviewers claimed that it did, but others claimed that because the entire thing is covered with glue, no air can move through it. It's true that the majority of the tape is covered by the glue. Air does, however, pass through it. My assumption is that applying the adhesive to the entire item at the time of construction would be far less expensive, but it would attach to the netting and thin out or open out in the middle. I can definitely feel air passing through the patch, though.One more thing: In the evening, the sun shines directly through the patched window. The window is under shadows for the remainder of the day. The tape is essentially undetectable when the sun is beaming through the screen. However, the patch stands out as being darker than the rest of the screen when the screen is in the shadows.

In my search for the ideal projection material, I kept coming across problems with the fabric piece not being quite the appropriate size or having hot areas. This fabric performs admirably. Although it was unfortunate, my projection material does have a visible line across it around the center. Despite this, the screen is still a fantastic complement to our Halloween presentation. I used a removable fence panel as a frame for the projection material after removing it from the fence. I then attached the projector material with clips. So the first thing you'll notice when you get the tape is how thin the role is. I didn't mind this because it was to be expected given the price. It was a pleasant surprise to discover thread and a hook needle included when you first open the package. Use the thread to stitch a rip or cut in the screen before applying the tape. You can fly the tape over the cut once it has been threaded.The adhesion of this tape on screens is excellent. The tape hasn't yet fallen off or lost its stickiness. The fact that it's tape is the sole disappointment. The screen fixer I previously purchased at the hardware shop was made of the same material as a screen and allowed air to pass through, in contrast to this product. The tape is textured and blends in well with my screens, despite the fact that it can hinder airflow.

My cat will scratch on the screen of my bedroom window in the middle of the night to get me to come inside. In just over a year, he has caused some fairly significant harm. I live in an apartment, so unless I move, I don't intend to continue paying for screen repairs. This is an effective short-term fix. I'm intrigued to see how long this will stay while my cat continues to scratch the same location because the adhesion is nice but not SUPER strong. You can clearly see that there are patches, but anyone who purchases this is probably just trying to avoid having to replace the complete screen, so it won't look great. I'm happy with the results so far, and if this screen repair lasts longer than six months against my cat's claws, I can definitely get 1.5 years' worth of screen repair on this tiny roll. I'll wait and see. If it doesn't, I'll edit my review to reflect that.
