This hummingbird wind chime is quite beautiful, and I got it for my mother as a birthday gift. I loved that it was made of plastic so that it wouldn't break if it fell, and the birds light up in a variety of colours. I appreciate that this is solar-powered, making it more environmentally friendly. The item doesn't "chime." Wind chimes make me think of almost musical instruments. It literally sounded like plastic hitting on plastic as it moved in the wind. It has a nice appearance but not the best sound. But my mother still adored it!

Current (6/2019)For whatever reason, this chime has broken its code of silence after one year. I first heard it somewhere in the winter and assumed it was because the trees' leaves had all fallen off. That has, in fact, continued into the summer. It wouldn't chime in a wind tunnel last year. In the same locations in the yard, it is now audible and clear. I like it now.The only time I hear them is when I move them from one place to another in search of a better spot, despite the fact that I am aware that it is indeed Woodstock and not a cheap counterfeit as some reviewers have said. Even on days with high winds, I have had these for three months, and I hardly ever hear them. I've moved them about the yard, hanging them from a shepherd's hook on the back deck where there are no obstacles, an arbor, and many trees of different heights. In the video, a powerful wind gust causes the hammock to sway under the wind chimes. The hefty chains on the hammock are audible moving. The wind chimes wave above it, but they hardly make any sound; with this breeze, they ought to be singing loudly. Another reviewer claimed that you need hurricane-force gusts to hear it, so perhaps my issue is that. In Michigan, there are no hurricanes. Two stars because they have good looks.Aside from that, Woodstock should rename itself as evidently people believe it will perform Amazing Grace. It's not a music box; it's a wind chime. The song Amazing Grace won't be played. Given that it is tuned to certain notes, it ought to play them at random; nevertheless, mine make no sounds at all. It's like me being upset that something was manufactured by Woodstock but I don't hear Jimi Hendrix performing the Star Spangled Banner when reviewers flip to page 334 of their hymnals and can't sing along to the song like they are in church on a Sunday morning.

Despite my skepticism, it turned out to be a lovely wind chime with a lovely show of slowly shifting colored lights.The sensor's nighttime operation was not hampered by either the overhead light or the floodlight on our covered patio, despite the instructions saying it was particularly sensitive to light.It stopped working on the third night, and I feared the worst. It began to function as I brought it inside. It is sensitive to cold temperatures (below freezing), as I discovered through trial and error, and resumes operation outside the moment it heats up.I didn't use the flash when I took the photo. The above patio light is the source of the light that casts the shadows. In person, it appears much more amazing. This wind chime is fantastic, and we think it would make a perfect present. These wind chimes have my heart! Although I really bought them as a present, I'm finding it incredibly tough to part with them. Except when they are noisy and banging, I enjoy wind chimes. Neither are they. Instead, they are calming and tranquil in their softness, just as I had imagined. They arrived, and as I opened the box, I was a little worried that the chimes strings would get tangled.
