You can use rubber gloves for welding, but they are not the best option. They will protect your hands from the heat, but they will also make it more difficult to grip the welding torch and could cause the torch to slip.
Yes, you can weld with leather gloves, but it's not the best idea. Leather gloves are not as heat resistant as other welding gloves, so you run the risk of burning yourself.
Yes, you can stick weld with MIG gloves. The gloves are made of a material that is resistant to heat and will not catch fire.

The only drawback is "one size fits all," which is obviously false. Due to my extremely small hands, using the gloves deftly is challenging. However, I light daily fires in my wood stove to heat my home, and these gloves have made it much easier for me to move logs around, spread out coals, and add fresh logs! My arm is sufficiently covered, my hands never feel the heat, and I can manage the logs with ease. As a result, I can place most of my arm inside the stove without getting burned or covered in ash.Much, much better than standard fireplace accessories. highly suggestable

Most of the information in this evaluation is secondhand and comes from my husband. He has almost ten years of experience as a skilled welder, to start. He has mostly worked in the oil field and pipeline. I've discovered a lot of gloves lying about since I've known him. They clearly and apparently burn up quickly. I therefore performed some research to get a decent pair of gloves. Why spend a lot of money on gloves when they burn up quickly, I ask, and he would concur. He describes the gloves as good and ordinary, however. They are neither horribly long nor excessively thick. How many stars, I enquired. Four are given by him. There wasn't a heat shield, which is the only reason he didn't give them five. He doesn't do much tig welding, though, so he did OK without the shield. He advises them to the typical welder.

Excellent gloves for the price. Although they have the traditional "longer than human" thumb issue, the fit is excellent, and it's not as severe as with some gloves I've bought in the past. The only problem I had was that there was a lot of fibre material inside that was all over my hands every time I took them off. It's also kind of sticky, so if you attempt to brush it off with, say, your pants, it'll stay on your clothes. It has taken a lot of use for it to finally sluff off, though. They have probably been on and off for fifty times already.Still, they're fantastic for the price!

To start, I'd like to suggest if you're this king about the 16s, get them. I purchased the 14-inch ones, and while they are long, they only reach my elbow halfway (pictures to follow). Now, for the review.I'm the kind of guy who enjoys seeing the world burn while yet relishing the ability to control it and mold it as I choose. In light of this, these bastards are perfect for you if your goals include conquering the globe or even simply a wood burner or BBQ. Excellent value and comfort all around. If you're anything like me and temptation gets the better of you while you're roasting some chestnuts, you might notice that a log looks out of place on the fire. With these items nearby, you can reach right in and move the log however you please. However, be careful and don't become overconfident because fire is fire and you will feel it even after just a second or two. If you act quickly, however, you won't be burned. They function to my satisfaction, are sturdy, fit me perfectly, and enable me to short grab flaming wood. So what's the verdict on BBQs? Good. Wood stove or fireplace? Good. Using the sun to play handball? He cheats anyway, so who cares if he doesn't.

Suitable gloves for cooking with cast iron. When working with heat-retaining cast iron, the several layers of leather actually do protect your hand well for a brief period of time, and their huge size makes them simple to put on and take off. This is a terrific combination. These shield your hands for a long time at lower temperatures (350F) and can be used on several pans in the oven while seasoning. You don't have much time at higher temperatures, but there is still time to remove the items from the oven and place them on the trivet before the heat from the trivet causes your hands to become uncomfortable. I once removed a pan from a 550°F oven without suffering any significant damage; the glove did catch fire and start to smoke, but I was otherwise unharmed. There are no deductions for that since the description already mentions the brief duration for higher temperatures. The only true drawback, in my opinion, is that once heated, they do retain heat, making it uncomfortable to repeatedly handle hot objects (like seasoning a batch of cast iron pans, for example) until they have cooled down. No deductions are given for this either because the increase is gradual and you have plenty of time to prepare because the heat builds gradually. Will they keep you safe for a long time? No, they weren't made for that. However, for the brief applications that most cast iron cookers have, such as taking them into and out of ovens, grills, and fires, these have worked really well for me.

Although I cannot vouch for their intended usage as welding gloves, the ones I purchased for my smoker are excellent. cozy and simple to put on and take off. They shouldn't be used to handle hot grill grates on a real charcoal or gas grill; a smoker operates at a considerably lower temperature. One of the gloves has a mark from where I touched the grating on it, but it doesn't appear to be harmed and continues to perform well for the smoker. Since they are only 275 degrees, not 700, I can stand the heat of the smoker grates all day. These have also been used by me at bonfires to add wood to the flames and cook marshmallows when the shorter sticks were causing our hands to burn. Although I haven't used these gloves for actual welding, I would still suggest them. Comfortable, heat-resistant, and very simple to put on and take off. They also have a great appearance. Who doesn't enjoy fire?

Since the temperature in the pottery kiln is quite high—more than 1000 degrees—and my partner kept getting his jacket's sleeves burned, I bought these for him. Given the greater temperatures than the gloves were designed for, he can still feel some heat through the glove, but it fulfills its purpose for the few seconds it takes to prop the kiln top open.

Other than TIG, these are perfect. Life is nice in the neighbourhood when I utilise these along with Welding Tips and Tricks TIG Finger. One pair of these lasted me the entire semester when I was welding for 10 hours a week in a Specialized Welding class, which I took to improve my TIG skills. If your metal heats up, you will feel the heat, therefore I wouldn't suggest handling hot metal in them. They will quickly burn through. In them, I can easily feed filler wire and control the TIG torch with great comfort. You can buy two pairs for what Miller charges for one pair, and the price is half that for a glove that is very comparable.
Welding gloves are made of materials that can withstand high temperatures and protect your hands from sparks and other debris. They also have a good grip so you can hold onto your welding torch or other tools.
To ensure gloves fit, it is important to try them on before purchasing them. It is also important to check the size chart to find the right size. Gloves should feel snug but not too tight.
If gloves are too tight, they may feel constricting or uncomfortable. The best way to determine if gloves are too tight is to try them on and see how they feel. If they feel constricting or uncomfortable, they are likely too tight.
When storing welding gloves, it is important to keep them in a cool, dry place. It is also important to keep them away from any sharp objects or chemicals that could damage the gloves.
A pair of welding gloves should last for several years. The lifespan of your gloves depends on how often you use them and how well you take care of them. If you use your gloves regularly, you may need to replace them every few years. If you take good care of your gloves, you may be able to use them for much longer.
Welding gloves are made to protect the hands from the intense heat and sparks that are generated during the welding process. The gloves are made of different materials, such as leather, Kevlar, or aluminized fiber, that can withstand high temperatures. The gloves also have a lining of insulation, such as cotton or wool, to further protect the hands from the heat.
