Are magnetic welding clamps any good?

Yes, magnetic welding clamps are good. They can hold your workpiece in place so you can weld it without having to worry about it moving.

Can you touch the table while welding?

When welding, you should always be aware of where your hands are in relation to the welding arc and the electrode. If your hands are too close to the arc, you could get a severe burn. If the electrode touches your skin, it can also give you a nasty shock.

Can you touch the welding table?

Can you use a magnet as a ground for welding?

If you are using a welder that requires a ground, you cannot use a magnet as a ground. The magnet will not be strong enough to provide a good ground for the welder.

400 Amp Brass Welding Ground Clamp Review:

Recently, I invested in an Amico 160D stick welder for domestic and recreational usage, which came with the customary ground clamp and "light duty" electrode holder. I immediately improved the electrode holder, and most recently I replaced the lightweight thin sheet metal clamp with this heavy duty solid brass ground clamp. Although it's "overkill" for my 160 amp welder, being rated at 400 amps, it's still a wonderful value given the cost and build quality. To anchor the cable lead to the clamp, I abandoned the "crimp" type steel band in favour of a small stainless steel hose clamp.

LINCOLN ELECTRIC CO KH525 300A Grnd Work Clamp Review:

Steel is used to create the Ground Work Clamp. including the plated steel "copper" components (not solid copper). Use two hands or consume a lot of spinach if you want to squeeze the spring clamp; it takes a lot of force. There is a 3/8" machine screw on the ground wire connection. An example of a mating lug would be this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0747S5LZV/This welding clamp was only $6.25, and it is more than sufficient for my do-it-yourself welding tasks. It effectively completes the task, so I consider it to be a great value.

Tweco 9205-1120 GC-200 Welding Ground Clamp, 200-Amp Capacity Review:

This is a well-made, powerful clamp that need to be included with welders right away, at least the 300amp model. Used this to replace the OEM clamp on a 140amp mig welder for klutch inverters. Since the wire that this is designed for is considerably larger, I stripped a significant portion of it and triple-folded it to ensure a tight fit within the terminal screw. Additionally, the included band was taken off and replaced with a little radiator clamp. Since the clamp is heavy, it takes some force to fully open it.Even though it has the appearance of other brass units that can be purchased for a lot less, this one is made of copper, which has a far higher conductivity than brass. A little costly, but the improved performance is worthwhile.

US Forge Welding Heavy Duty Bronze Ground Clamp 300 Amps Review:

To replace the factory ground clamp that came with my ESAB Rebel 215, I bought this clamp. In terms of rigidity and weight, this is significantly superior. Other reviews claimed that it was too challenging to open, but I haven't found that to be the case. It is incredibly strong and won't accidentally release from your workpiece or welding table. Because it does not have a crimp-style cable attachment, I chose this clamp over others. It is merely a set screw, and the cable may be quickly replaced by backing it up. If I needed to replace another clamp, I would without a doubt buy this again. I doubt I'll ever need to replace this one.

HITBOX G Ground Welding Earth Clamp 0.75kg Full Cooper 400A High Standard Solid Brass Earth Clamp for Industrial Use Review:

I have a lot of severe heat issues with my other clamps, but these have yet to even get hardly warm when running, thus it makes an excellent ground connection if you polish the face of the metal to anything shining. On the large blue 700 duo, 072

LISHUAI 600Amp Magnetic Ground Clamp Review:

Extremely comfortable to work on, has strong clamping force, and is used with a 160 AMP inverter (which I purchased on Amazon a year and a half ago as the ARC-160D 160 Amp STICK ARC IGBT Inverter). The original pin could be easily replaced with this product. I recommend it to anyone who wants comfort while working.

KINGQ Welding Ground Clamp, Tweco, 300-Amp, Brass Review:

a significant upgrade for my Hobart welder

Gimiton 800 Amp Arc Welding Ground Clamp Manual Welder Earth Ground Cable Copper Grip Clip Clamp Heavy Duty (800A) Review:

These work well as long as you don't intend to use them frequently and only occasionally. Although they aren't the most durable, I know you should expect them for the price. I'd suggest them to someone who uses them sparingly, only when necessary.
