Goldfish can survive in a pond without a pump if the pond is large enough and has enough oxygen. Goldfish need oxygen to live and they get it from the water. If the pond is too small or there is not enough oxygen in the water, the goldfish will die.
You can top up your pond with tap water, but it is not recommended as it can contain chemicals that are harmful to aquatic life. If you do use tap water, it is best to let it sit for 24 hours before adding it to the pond to allow the chemicals to dissipate.
It's a common question pond owners face each winter - should I turn my pond pump off? The answer is not as simple as a yes or no. While turning your pond pump off may save on energy costs, it can also lead to problems down the road. If you have a pond with fish, it's important to keep the water moving to prevent it from freezing over and killing your fish. A pond pump will help circulate the water and keep it from freezing. However, if you have a pond without fish, you may be able to get away with turning your
A small garden pond typically does not need a pump unless the pond is being used for koi fish or some other type of fish that require aeration. If you have a small garden pond and you are not using it for fish, then a pump is not necessary.

I bought this bag mostly to prevent the other frogs from suffering the same fate as one that was sucked into our pump last year (they love to hang out in the skimmer and we can't keep them out). Since it's been in place for about a year, I'm happy to say that no more frogs have perished. This bag also aids in containing bigger pieces of dirt and debris that manage to bypass my other filter media. It works well as a "last resort" to keep sludge out of your pump. The only tiny issue I have is that I wish the bag's bottom were flat. The bottom of the bag has a seam that runs straight through the middle that occasionally causes the pump to wobble a little bit on the bottom of my skimmer box.Overall, I can heartily suggest this product.

The pump's convenience is a blessing. With no added taste, the gel simply dissolves in drinks. I did discover, though, that adding thickening did make soups taste less flavorful. This gel thickener has one gramme of carbs per ounce as opposed to five grammes in powdered thickening. For those whose diets restrict their intake of carbohydrates, this is crucial. My partner had Type I (insulin dependent) diabetes and dysphagia, a swallowing problem that necessitated the use of thickened beverages. Although the gel is more expensive than thickener in powder form, I was pleased that the ability to better control carbohydrate intake—which is ESSENTIAL for diabetics—was now possible.

For our tiny fountain, we required a small pump capable of circulating between 120 and 150 GPH. We wanted this fountain to be quiet as well as it is on our terrace. This tiny pump was the ideal solution. The water was too high, and although we had bought a bigger pump, we didn't enjoy the sound it made when it splashed back onto the stone from the higher height. This pump's variable speed is now set at its lowest setting. I have not measured the height to which the water would rise at its fastest rate. This low priced pump is ideal for our needs. I intend to use it on the deck for many summers to come.

I oversee the staff for an organization that makes Automatic Pool Covers. The pump that comes with our systems is this one. In comparison to Rule's cover pump, it is miles superior. The best option are float sensors. There are many reviews that criticize this pump, however I can assure you that at least 3/4 of them are just air-locked. This is mainly always brought on by utilizing an excessively long hose or moving your hose uphill. While the pump's instructions advise using a hose no longer than 22 feet, I'd suggest, if at all possible, keeping it at or below 15 feet. If you must use a longer hose, make sure to take it downhill and avoid letting it coil at all costs. In a cold climate, any remaining water in the hose may freeze and force the pump to work against an ice wall. This can eventually cause your pump to burn out and prevent it from removing water from your cover. I advise using a Cover Blast nozzle or heat tape on the hose (follow link at bottom of review). I can't speak for others who have damaged parts or other issues. We sell at least 125 of these pumps year and haven't had any problems with damaged parts. Due to disinformation provided regarding the pump by Little Giant, I only gave this pump four stars. When you look closer, you will see that although they claim it pumps 1800 gallons per hour, the typical garden hose is just 3/4" OD and you would require a 1 foot long, 1" OD line to achieve that. You will be lucky to achieve over 800 gallons per hour if you use a typical garden hose longer than 10 feet. Their contradictory GPH readings and the impression that they were taken by a youngster to measure them are further reasons for the loss of a fifth star. If you can find a better pool cover pump for under $200, please let me know. http://www.amazon.com/Coverblast-Winter-Cover-Attachment-Accessory/dp/B00ENTUEGE/ref=sr 1 1?ie=UTF8

Eco Friendly: It is an extremely competent solar panel. It is controlled with solar power completely. It does not need battery or electricity. It is an Eco Friendly solar pump and saves money.
Suggestion: Make sure you have put enough water in the fountain so that the pump can stay entirely under the water. You should clean the pump on regular basis to avoid the pump get blocked with dirt. The fountain works only when ALL panels are exposed to FULL, DIRECT sunlight. A leaf shading one panel keeps it from functioning. It does not store any energy.
Sprayer for Different Water Style: There are 4 different types of nozzle heads attached with the pump itself. It helps to change the height of water in different water patterns. The water can rise up to 30-50 cm approx.
Multiple Applications: This eco friendly solar pump is perfect for bird bath, fish tank, small pond, pool, garden, water circulation for oxygen. Your garden would definitely catch all the attention of the passers-by. Let your yard look so amusingly decorated by the solar water pump.
Floating Fountain Pump: It is very easy to use. You just have to do is, make the pump float on the water. Once the solar panel gain sunlight, it will run automatically within a couple of seconds. The brighter it receives the sunlight, better it works.

Everything appears to be in order, and since no electrical outlets or wires are needed, this is ideal for usage in my small garden. Since the sound of running water draws birds of many kinds, I've been wanting a little fountain for a while. This will hopefully attract more hummingbirds, who are fascinating to watch. It does NOT store a charge, therefore if it just receives partial sunlight, it will only function when there is direct sunlight onto it (won't work at night or in shade). The sun must be shining directly on the black solar disc that sits in the water for it to work consistently. Depending on which pattern you like, there are 3 plastic fountain head patterns that snap on and off. To raise the sprinkler head in your birdbath or pond so that it sits about 3/4 inch higher, you can utilize the tiny extension piece that is included (or not). If there is not enough sunshine or cloud cover, it may spray with an irregular delay of around 3 or 4 seconds; the sound is somewhat reminiscent of someone spitting (haha...true!). Yesterday was the first day I got it set up; to test it, I just put it in a sizable saucer of water. A small sparrow sat and stared at it for a very long time, trying to figure out what the heck it was. It was extremely endearing to watch. This will be excellent for giving my tiny container garden extra vitality. I don't get why some of the other reviewers are so concerned about it considering that it only has a 1.4W power. It's also quite affordable, however you may spend more if you really want to by buying from another vendor. For my purposes, I'm delighted with the product from this seller, but it's not the Fountain of Trivoli, lol! It is what it is—a tiny plastic fountain with solar power that is ideal for putting in a tiny birdbath or watering hole. Cute, soft water spray pulse! Bird enjoyed it. Hummers also enjoy it! Fun! I would repurchase it!

I've owned this pump for just over a year, and it's still in excellent condition. I can say with confidence that the pump component of this kit is of high quality and will withstand a lot of abuse, such as exposure to freezing temperatures, being buried in the ground by our chickens who decided to dig around the pond, direct sunlight in temperatures of more than 100 degrees, getting wet from sprinklers, etc. I am aware that it is advised to place the pump indoors, but I was unable to do so. The most striking thing was how much more oxygen this pump gave to our 500-gallon pond, which caused our pond plants to EXPAND this year. By selling the HUGE hyacinth and water lettuce that were quickly taking over the pond and persisted throughout the entire summer, I was able to recoup the expense of the pump in just one season. A pleasant surprise extra! There are only a few shortcomings for me, which are reasonable given the product's pricing.1. The air emitters are too light and frequently half-float on their edges. The fish also move them around quite a bit. This was resolved by using silicon to fasten them to some flat stones that would sufficiently weigh them down.2. I would want to see smaller bubbles, but they are larger than I would like to see. I'm planning to try out a few different air stones this winter to see if I can create smaller bubbles for greater oxygen transport to the water.3. A longer cord—say, 15'—would be very helpful to prevent the need for extension cords. I'm shocked aquascape didn't include 15–25' cords with this purchase, since other pond-related equipment does.

With little around five hours' notice, I had to fly to San Francisco. The friend who looked after my dogs and aquarium was unable to arrive before I departed. Additionally, I ran out of time to leave my aquarium's directions. I polish using a 100-micron water pad (highly recommend, on Amazon). They didn't grasp, despite my best efforts to explain how to top off evaporating water with prime. I just gave my fish food.By the time I arrived at my house, the tank had fully crashed. No water was entering the inlet since enough of it had evaporated. The secondary bottom hole that kept the tank from running dry was siliconed by me.This pump I purchased performs admirably! Compared to the OEM Fluval Spec pump, it is a little bigger. The water intake must be positioned so that it faces a wall directly. But this pump's irrelevance is what I adore about it. The pump's inlet is located at the very bottom. So it's fantastic! The bottom may allow water to enter. Not only that, I use this pump on high, but I also have a DIY spray bar that reduces flow, and I also use polishing pads that do the same. Punch a hole in the outflow tube as well to allow water to circulate around the heater, further reducing flow. My betta appears to be happy. And I am too!It was mentioned that the pump is loud. It was merely improperly installed in the pump area of the Spec. It will rattle if it's tilted, touching the glass, or if the suction cups aren't used to properly secure it to the bottom. This is also true of the OEM Fluval pump. There is no pump noise at all. All I can hear are the air stone's bubbles.Outflow tube adapters are included – NICE! The flow rate dial is another feature I believe sets it apart from the OEM pump on the Fluval Spec. It is solid! like quite impossible to turn with the fingers. In all honesty, I initially believed my purchase to be faulty, but it turned out to be OK. Because the flow rate switch in the Fluval pump is so flimsy, this is actually pretty fantastic! No matter what setting you choose, the pump will always wobble toward the middle while you're putting it in the pump chamber. This was the worst! It always readjusted itself on the way down, no matter how careful I was. To hold the switch firmly in place, I ultimately had to insert a piece of silicone into the crack. For $9, I'm just going to go ahead and get a couple more of these after hearing that someone's pump barely lasted a few months. just to have it available. We'll see how long mine lasts, but I think it'll last for a very long time. The pump in your Spec may be quickly and affordably replaced with this one. Undoubtedly, I'll purchase a backup device to keep on hand in case this one breaks out.

I purchased it for the following two reasons:To use with my laser engraver, for starters2. To complement my hydroponics system. This pump can provide the high volume at low pressure that my laser engraver needs. I continuously operated the pump for almost 5 hours, and it functioned without any problems. If you've ever used a piston air delivery pump, you know that while they are noisier than diaphragm pumps, they are also more durable and capable of producing higher output. Actually, I got tired of having to replace the diaphragms on my old pump, which is why I switched to a piston model.Although this pump has quite big heat sinks, piston pumps do have a tendency to run a little warmer. A tiny air filter on the suction side keeps trash from getting into the pump. In order to quiet it down, someone extended a portion of 3/8" hose from the inlet to a location outside the room, according to a review I had read. I would not advise doing that even though it would work to quiet it down because it would put a lot of strain on the pump and severely reduce its production. My lettuce floats on rafts for my hydroponic system for deep water culture. You need something to keep the water oxygenated and the nutritional solution circulating around the roots because they dangle in it. This product comes with a distribution valve system that is faultless. I have lengths as long as 20 feet of standard silicone aquarium tubing. You can have valves at full output or partial output by partially closing the ball valves on the manifold. For me, the fact that it is a metal manifold is particularly advantageous because they last much longer than plastic ones, which seem to degrade after nine months. This pump has 110 liters per minute of output, which is more than enough power for me. I believe you have discovered what you need if you want a piston pump with a metal manifold that is ready to use straight out of the box and customer assistance to support any queries you may have. I sincerely hope that you found my review to be useful; if so, do select "yes" below. Thanks!

I got this to pump water out of my outside, covered duck pond. I needed to replace the one I'd had for a while. Even though this one wasn't quite as robust, I assumed it would still take some time. It stopped working after only a short while due to clogging. In addition to using the pump, I also cleaned the pond, mostly by draining the water. Although the clogging disappointed me, the customer service was excellent. Not shortly after I posted my initial review, I received a call from the business, which wanted to make things right. I'm now using gravity and a hose, and it's working just great. But given the responsiveness from this company, if I could set up anything to keep all debris out, I would absolutely think about hiring them in the future.

I have never seen a drill driven pump better than this one. The inexpensive plastic pumps you can buy locally for half the price are not as well made or capable of pumping as much liquid as this one. Although it feels like steel, the body is comprised of what I believe to be an extremely durable plastic. It's put together like a product created in America would be because of the extremely precise and durable treads. You'll even notice when you use it for the first time that they greased the impeller to prevent it from catching fire. Therefore, like I did, running water through it to remove the grease might be an excellent idea. It's a nice little pump, and because I couldn't locate anything similar locally, I purchased a second one from Amazon just to be safe in case it ever becomes obsolete or something. Despite the fact that I anticipate this one lasting a very long time. No, I'm not kidding, you can't fail.
A pond pump does not oxygenate the water. Oxygen is a gas and it Dissolves in water. A pond pump only circulates the water.
A waterfall pump can use a lot of electricity, but it all depends on the size of the pump and how much water is being pumped. The average homeowner can expect to see a rise in their electric bill of about 20-30% when they first install a waterfall pump. However, over time, the cost of running the pump will go down as the pump becomes more efficient.
If you’re wondering how big of a pump you need for your pond, there are a few things you’ll need to take into consideration. The size of your pond, the type of pump you need, and the desired flow rate are all important factors. The size of your pond is the most important factor in determining the size of pump you need. A small pond will require a much smaller pump than a large pond. The type of pump you need will also affect the size. A submersible pump will be much smaller than an external pump.
If you have a pond, you may want to consider oxygenating it. This can be done without a pump by using a few simple methods. One way to oxygenate your pond is to simply let a hose run into it for a few hours. This will introduce oxygen into the water and help to keep the fish and other aquatic life healthy. Another way to oxygenate your pond is to add a water fountain. This will also introduce oxygen into the water and help to keep the pond clean.
There are a few ways that you can circulate water in your pond without a pump. One way is to use a solar-powered water feature. This will use the power of the sun to create a water current in your pond. Another way is to use a gravity-fed system. This will use the force of gravity to create a water current in your pond.
