No, all VGA cables are not the same. The type of VGA cable you need depends on the type of device you are connecting to. For example, if you are connecting a laptop to a projector, you will need a VGA to HDMI cable.
There are two types of VGA, analog and digital. Analog is the older of the two and is the type found in most computers. It uses a cable with three wires, red, green, and blue. These are the colors that make up the image on the screen. The digital type of VGA is newer and uses a cable with only two wires, red and green.
Yes, you can replace VGA with HDMI by using an adapter.
If you have a device that only has a VGA output, you can use an HDMI to VGA adapter to connect it to a display that only has a VGA input.

I was requested to give a PowerPoint presentation outside of town at the last minute. When I inquired about the projector's video input, I was essentially told that it does. For those who own a Surface, like I do, having a tiny display connector to HDMI and VGA should be standard equipment. In the end, I found that I needed the HDMI adapter that I had bought for a prior talk, but I had also tested the VGA one, and it had been fine.

Like other cords for gadgets from Amazon Basics, this one is of high quality. It will be extremely thick and covered in a plastic with sharp ridges. It is challenging to roll up and organize because it seldom bends. VGA wires are designed in such a way. There is nothing about this chord in particular to criticize.Because VGA is a "analog" signal, be aware that radio interference from devices like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, TVs, and wireless phones may cause problems. Except when the VGA cord is directly on top of another object or there is a loose connection, it is not very common.A VGA picture signal is far worse than anything like HDMI DisplayPort aside from that. The only reason I purchased this cord was to attempt to connect two PCs to a single display that had a DVI and VGA port on each. Only use VGA as a very last resort.

I was burned by numerous cheap VGA cables that produced ghosting, purple images, and other issues to the point that I became frustrated and purchased this more expensive quality connection. It works excellent for me when I use it on a weekly basis, and I was astonished by the resolutions it can support.

I would like to assert that all cables are equivalent, and anyone who buys anything other than the most affordable ones is a fool. This was my viewpoint a few months ago. But when I connected my laptop to a second monitor, the visual quality was so bad that I thought about getting a new display. Ghosting, some color alterations, and a general lack of resolution I tried moving my connection away from other equipment after conducting some internet research and realizing that other electrical interference might be the root of some of these problems. It mostly worked, but it was a logistical headache. The ethernet cable, power cable, headphone cable, and power cable for the display are all on my desk. That much interference is a lot.I finally bought this cable out of desperation, and lo and behold, it works. Yes, it is impervious to interference. It won't affect the picture quality at all if it stays connected to my laptop's power wire all day. Images are sharper, brighter, and best of all, ghosting is nonexistent! In conclusion, get one of these if you need a VGA cable or are experiencing problems with the picture quality of the one you already have. They're excellent!

does precisely what it should. Both I and other users with different devices, both PC and Mac, had no problems utilizing this on our computers (Dell XP 15 9550, Windows 10). Because my ports were largely unobstructed, it's about as compact as one can build a mini adaptor like this. One USB port on this machine was difficult to access with some cords, so I would have needed a cable to make sure I could use it, but I could have used an extender, like the one that came with my first Chromecast, instead. However, especially for travel, it's good not to have anything larger than essential in my bag. The adapter also has a little plastic cover to shield the HDMI side from damage and to keep dust out.The computer will probably attempt to route the audio for your PC through the HDMI port when it detects a plug there, a warning to users of HDMI-to-VGA converters like these. You must change the output to your computer speakers, Bluetooth, or headphone jack because audio cannot be sent over VGA. Simply click the audio icon in the system tray (next to the clock) in Windows 10 and then select the output name to bring up a drop-down menu of options. After making a new choice, you should be good to go.

The cable is functional, and the quality is excellent. But there is one drawback. The cable's VGA portion is incredibly, incredibly big. Compared to the original Dell cables that came with my monitors, it is roughly twice as long. See the image I've included for a size comparison. Under normal conditions, it wouldn't be a big deal, but I have a mounted soundbar that clips to the bottom of my monitor, and the size of this connector prevents it. So, heed my warning because I must return mine. This is a fantastic value if you don't already have a mounted sound bar and is more than adequate.

The screws were too short, but the video functions properly. It won't be in danger of being disconnected anyway, therefore it won't be a deal breaker for good quality video transmission. THE PURPOSE OF THIS ITEM WAS TO SHOW THE SAME COMPUTER VIDEO OUTPUT ON TWO SCREENS, MY TV AND MY MOUSE (which has VGA imput, no HDMI).I required the following in order to wire my computer's audio AND video to two different outputs in two different rooms:This 3.5 mini-stereo splitter with the VGA splitter (1 male to 2 female) (1 male to 2 female)It offered me the additional audio and video connectors I needed to deliver the signals to my TV together with the inputs I needed for my original computer's audio and video cables.I also required the following in order to connect the a/v to my television:a 35-foot VGA cable with all male connectors and an integrated 3.5-mm audio cable. The cable was run from the computer up to the TV via the floor and beneath the house.Incorporate a 3.5 mini-stereo adaptor (1female to 2 RCA male plugs)Plug in the VGA and the modified RCA plugs to the TV, and presto! You now have your TV showing exactly what is on your PC (assuming your computer is configured for it) and a volume that can be adjusted using the TV remote.Additionally:I purchased a USB tuner because my computer's Windows Media Center can schedule and record content similarly to a Tivo if it has a TV tuner (for the new ATSC HighDefinition TV signal). I upgraded to a fantastic indoor antenna (which was actually a little, tiny outside type Dtv2B 2-Bay Uhf Antenna), and now my PC has a free 11-day viewing guide and all of my local channels! My favorite programs can now be pre-recorded so I can watch them whenever I want.My most recent purchase was a remote control with a USB infrared receiver that works with Windows Media Center. As a result, I can now select which program to record and which one to watch from the comfort of my Laz-y-Girl couch! The next room is very close and has an open floor layout, but line of sight for the remote's infrared receiver from 25 feet distant still works perfectly well. Ahh!A new DVD recorder with a tuner costs more than any of the aforementioned options.I have the best remote, which has made my spouse envious:)
VGA and HDMI are two different types of video connectors. VGA is an analog signal while HDMI is a digital signal. It is not possible to connect a VGA cable to an HDMI port.
No, VGA cannot do 4K. 4K requires a DisplayPort, HDMI, or DVI connection.
No, not all computers have VGA input. Many laptops and some desktop computers have HDMI input, which is the newest standard.
You don't need a VGA cable for dual monitors. You can use a DVI, HDMI, or DisplayPort cable.
When choosing a VGA cable, you will need to consider the length of the cable, the resolution that you need, and the type of connectors that you need. The length of the cable is important because you need to make sure that the cable is long enough to reach from your computer to your monitor. The resolution that you need will determine the quality of the image that you see on your monitor. The type of connectors that you need will depend on the type of port that you have on your computer and your monitor.
No, VGA and HDMI cables are not the same. VGA cables are older and have a lower resolution than HDMI cables.
