The rolls that came with my Food Saver machine didn't perform as well as this product, in my opinion. The Food Saver bags were difficult for me to get to properly seal. They first appeared to be good, but when I defrosted meat, they leaking and caused a mess in my refrigerator. I've been using these bags for four months, and so far I've never had a defrosting leak and always have an airtight seal!Because there is more product per roll, the rolls are bigger in diameter than the Food Saver bags! It cannot be stored in the machine until I have reduced it to the proper size. I don't mind this; I just keep it till it fits in the machine with the other excess bags or rolls I have (the machine can only hold one roll at a time).Additionally, they lack the white label area, but I can still write on the bag and it still functions properly.

I had Eggo Waffles this morning and opted to vacuum seal the remaining halves because they always get freezer burned. We want to vacuum seal a bunch of produce and meats this afternoon while my wife shops for groceries. I have no idea how to evaluate the durability. Although only time will tell, it appears to be quite nicely crafted. It is quite effective and simple to use. To everyone, I would suggest this product!NEWS 11/7/2018: I just got the sous vide bags because I wanted to be able to use them again for other purposes. A hand vacuum pump was included with the bags. I tried the hand pump, and while it did function, it did so rather slowly. I unplugged the pump's end and connected the vacuum hose that was included with the Mooka. Wonderfully effective! Yes, the bags leak, as several reviews have said. I covered the vent hole with a piece of Scotch Tape after vacuuming out the air, and it works!

Use a portion immediately away, freeze the remainder, and they will be ready when thawed. Better and thicker than a typical zip bag.Additionally, we cut fruit into slices and freeze it for smoothies. They repeatedly reseal with great success. Simply spread out your fruit on a cookie sheet and freeze it to make it stiff so that it won't cling together when sealed. Cheese blocks can also last a lifetime if they are tightly sealed after each use. I store numerous bricks in separate bags and put them all in this bag before sealing it.

I do enjoy how these bags effectively vacuum-seal perishable items. My one and only criticism is that some foods, despite initially appearing to seal tightly, may actually produce a little hole in the bag. Air slowly escapes out. As a result, it relies on what you put in. For instance: Ground coffee doesn't work as well as coffee beans do. The smallest particle of ground coffee seems to become stuck in the sliding seal component and cause the vacuum to degrade with time. The edges of the dog chews, such as Greenies or Denta Sticks, poked a tiny hole in the bag when I tried to shut it, therefore the bag did not securely seal. You already know how soon these chewy-type things go bad if you save them.I also attempted to reseal a couple bags; some succeeded, some failed. Due to the price, I assume they are a one-time use item, thus I won't buy them again. Although the device to remove the air doesn't come with them, I already had one from a previous purchase that performed wonderfully.I'm still giving them a four star rating because they perform well when used as a one-time product with the correct dish, like rice.

I've just used it twice, so if my opinion changes, I'll try to update this. Additionally, I have no knowledge about alternative vacuum cleaners to contrast this one with.It seems to work really well. I used this as a sauce once, twice on broccoli, and once as a marinade for chicken. Now, such moist food is *not* suited for this machine.results: Some of the food contained air bubbles. The worst was the broccoli. I believe this is a result of its shape. While a piece of chicken is more like a single block, broccoli has many ups and downs. If you can, I believe it is beneficial to get the air bubbles all the way to the top of the bag.The latching mechanism appears to be weak. So far, it's running smoothly. One reviewer at least claimed that his had come broken, and I can understand how that might happen. I calculate that if this item lasts me at least two years, it will have been worth the money. So far, I believe it will, but I advise caution in this area.The buttons are touch-based rather than mechanical. That is good because touch buttons appear to be very futuristic and mechanical buttons frequently fail. However, they are really sensitive because I unintentionally touched them.I initially thought the machine was poorly constructed because of the way it splits in two, but now I see that this is actually a positive feature. It is very simple to cleanse any liquid that may have gotten into the machine's bottom. If enough liquid enters the machine that it enters the top, I suggest getting a new one. Even if it keeps working, it won't be hygienic.To get this machine to function with liquids, I discovered this "one unusual method." You act at your own risk IF you choose to do this. The machine could be ruined by liquid. I just mention this to illustrate my own experience—not to offer advice on how to operate this particular device.I added the sauce to the bag with the food. Since the vacuum forces the sauce in the direction of the food, less sauce is required.The bag must not be overfilled with liquid when it is placed in the machine and is ready to pull the vacuum. The top, which may be 3 inches or more, must remain dry while it is lying there. To keep as much moisture out of the machine as possible, I even dry it with a paper towel.I folded a paper towel into three layers and an inch-wide strip after cutting it to the exact width of the bag's opening. After that, trim the remaining paper towel.I In the dry area, put the paper towel on top of the bag. It must be inserted far enough so that the paper towel does not impede the top inch or so. This is required because paper towels must *not* impede the component of the machine that makes the seal. However, it shouldn't be too far away from the sauce to be soaking in it. If your bag is particularly saucy, switch the machine's settings to "gentle" and "wet," but keep in mind that these settings do not produce a strong vacuum. On the other hand, if you utilize the default settings, food fluids may end up in the vacuum cleaner—ew.You can see the sauce hit the paper towel and begin to soak in as the suction pulls, but the vacuum will stop and the bag will be sealed. All of this requires some practice... Before attempting it with food, I gave it two tries with just water while keeping my finger on the "cancel" button.

Connect it, take a portion of the bag off the roll, or use one of the offered bags, and leave. The only buttons on the entire device are two, and if you've ever seen a vacuum sealer in use, you probably won't even need them. The directions are quite simple.- The detachable drip tray is really nicely made. The foodsaver is primarily used by me to vacuum seal meat, either on its own or with a marinade or flavor. Simply remove the tray out and give it a quick wash when the extra juices run out the end of the bag. I would detest having to scrounge around in there to extract all the meat liquid.- Much quieter than the childhood model my mother had. It's not always quiet, but it's also not annoying.As lovely as a small appliance may be, it is nicely made. It is really sleek and polished black, and when put out on the counter, it looks fine.THE CONS- The product itself is completely faultless. Checking the instructions has always made it simple for me to handle any minor issues I've encountered in recent months. The Nutrichef is superior to the others I've observed because it:• Small (about the size of a dozen eggs)Simple, inexpensive, lightweight, and economical (uses generic bag material)I've had it for 48 hours. Maybe a dozen food items have been packaged by me. All of the seals seem to be holding.The bags cost around 10 cents because I bought the bag material in bulk from Amazon for approximately 16 cents per foot (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NCZMQUU/ref=cm cr ryp prd ttl sol 1). This costs less than a third of what FoodSaver bags cost and a fifth of what Waring bags cost.Only the following prevented me from giving it five stars:1. The "Vacuum Chamber" must have the end of the bag about halfway inside.2. The directions are unclear, possibly as a result of the non-native English writer. It would have been really beneficial to have some drawings outlining where to put the bags.3. Because at least 1-1/2" of additional material is required at the closure end, which makes the bags bulky, the bags can take up a lot of room in the freezer once they are closed and sealed.4. Once more, sous vide the food to the correct temperature before frying it at a high heat to sear it. Additionally, I can take them to my girlfriend's residence frozen (she loves them...)Meat is aged dry for weeks at a temperature of about 35°. Mine essentially triples the cost of aging. If you do this in your refrigerator, the meat will probably just be rotten.
