You can overcharge a radio battery, but it's not recommended. Doing so can shorten the battery's lifespan and reduce its performance. If you must overcharge a battery, be sure to monitor it closely and remove it from the charger as soon as it's full.
Yes, you can use rechargeable batteries in walkie-talkies. There are many benefits to using rechargeable batteries, including saving money and being more environmentally friendly.
No, dual batteries do not have to be the same. In fact, it is often beneficial to have different types of batteries in a dual battery system. This is because different types of batteries have different strengths and weaknesses. By having two different types of batteries, you can take advantage of each battery's strengths and minimize its weaknesses.
If you're planning on installing a car audio system, you might be wondering if you need two batteries. The answer is maybe. If you're just installing a basic system with a few speakers, you probably won't need two batteries. However, if you're planning on installing a more powerful system with multiple subwoofers and amplifiers, you might need two batteries to ensure that your system has enough power.

For the seller's efforts to make it right, I can only give it one rating due to the battery being a precise fit for this radio. For a total of 4 stars, I give 2 more. The two new extended batteries for my two new UV5xp radios don't suit either radio. The radio's battery pocket is a few millimeters too small. This prevents the radio's latch from seating into the battery's top catch. As a result, it is unable to lock into position or make contact with power plates.I initially thought the seller was being extremely tough about returning goods. I misread their goal, which was really more about trying to figure out what the issue was. They sent me some images, and I sent them a video. Finally, it was concluded that my would simply not fit. Despite the fact that the 5xp is not on the list of radios it fits, they were gracious enough to send me new batteries for no charge as compensation for my inconvenience. (I'd overlooked that)Although it should fit because it is identical to a 5 volt battery, the inside chips are different, which they both agreed upon, therefore they too were perplexed as to why it would not fit. However, it seems that this isn't the case in this case—excuse the pun—not it's actually "this case." The 5xP radio casing appears to have a little tab below the model number label at the base of the radio, which prevents the battery from being mounted, at least according to whoever created this specific set (note that more than one business manufactures them under the Baofeng name). (See keypad image with purple circled spot.) The battery case was trimmed to make room for it, and it now fits perfectly and clicks firmly into place.Shaved the battery as indicated in the illustration, and it now clips on perfectly. Remove everything that is yellow or red. A Dremel worked beautifully, but even a fingernail file or metal file would work. You may even carve it with a sharp box knife or other tool.

Considering the price, it is of excellent quality and feels sturdy. As other reviewers have claimed, I had no trouble locking it into place on my Baofeng F8HP. Anyway, the ability to charge the battery is a major drawback I discovered with the majority of ham radios. I bought a HAM radio to be prepared for emergencies, and I quickly realized that the only power source I have is a wall adapter to recharge the battery. I wouldn't be able to use my radio if there was a prolonged power outage and I had no gas in my vehicle. Most of my equipment has been adjusted so that it can use 18650 lithium-ion batteries. In order to charge most of my equipment using solar power when other options are not available, I have constructed a solar charger that can charge 18650 cells. Naturally, I created an adaptor for my radio so that it can run on 18650 batteries. All I had to do was solder power connectors to the car adapter, radio adapter, and my new 18650 battery pack as the original battery voltage is 7.4v and exactly what two 18650 batteries supply. So, if necessary, I can still connect it into my car or power my radio with my 18650 battery pack. See images for evidence that it is effective! I need my survival equipment to function even in the most remote locations. My idea involves solar-charging li-ion batteries and adapting machinery to work with them.

I purchased the Baofeng in order to augment my Kenwood TH6-FA with a second HT. As a train photographer, I must have two radios with me at all times while I am in a remote area. While using the Kenwood for ham radio conversations, I utilize the Baofeng to scan the railroad frequencies. I can use the Baofeng for a long time because to the huge capacity battery. But I do have one criticism. The Baofeng's documentation is useless. It merely contains a list of each button's functions; there are no instructions regarding how to use the radio's other features or functions, or how to program it. Only because I purchased RT Systems programming cable and software for both radios for my iMacs is it functional. Programming either radio is quick and simple using the RT System software, but when I'm out in the field, I'm unable to make ANY programming changes since I can't find any documentation on how to do it.Overall, this radio is a great value for the price as long as you can either learn how to program it on your own or buy programming software.

A friend gave me his walkie-talkie set with the charging base a few years back. I bring up the charging base because I think batteries ultimately deplete when walkie-talkies are left in the base charging. The walkie talkies were able to be turned on, but as soon as we hit PTT (push to talk), they would quickly shut off. I thought there might be a battery problem, but I wasn't certain.I figured the $10 for a two-pack of these batteries made the risk worthwhile. If they didn't solve the issue, I could always return them. They nearly resembled the ones that were already in the walkie-talkie, so I inserted them and turned them on. The walkie talkies continued to work even after we pushed PTT!In order to extend the life of the batteries, we will now let them completely discharge before putting them on the charger and removing them from the charger once they are fully charged. However, $10 for a single set of walkie talkies over a period of one to two years is not at all a bad pricing. If they fail me before I expect them to, I'll update this review.

Before going snow skiing, I bought this to replace the batteries in the radios. Used them for two full days of skiing without needing to recharge, and they worked excellent! Since cell phones aren't compatible up there, this kept us all in touch. With the aid of the radio, we were able to get ski patrol to my daughter after she was in an accident and keep her calm.
It's a common myth that checking someone's location on your phone will drain their battery. However, this is not the case. If you're using an app like Find My Friends, the other person will only be located when they open the app. Therefore, checking someone's location will not impact their battery life.
Yes, turning off always on will save battery. Always on keeps your screen active even when you're not using it, so it's a good idea to turn it off when you don't need it.
Walkie-Talkies are battery operated devices that use radio frequencies to communicate. Most Walkie-Talkies use disposable batteries, which will need to be replaced periodically. However, some models come with rechargeable batteries. How long a Walkie-Talkie will last depends on a number of factors, including the type of battery used, the frequency of use, and the strength of the signal.
AA batteries are one of the most popular types of batteries for portable radios. They are small, lightweight, and have a long shelf life. Most AA batteries will last for several years in a portable radio.
C batteries can last anywhere from 2-10 hours in a radio, depending on the brand, size, and quality of the battery. Some radios may even have a setting to help conserve battery life.
