Are there walkie-talkies that reach 1000 miles?

Yes, there are walkie-talkies that reach up to 1000 miles. They are typically used by the military or by emergency services.

Are whip antennas good?

Whip antennas are good for a number of reasons. First, they are relatively inexpensive to manufacture. Second, they are relatively easy to install and maintain. Third, they are relatively small and compact, making them easy to transport and deploy. Finally, they offer good performance in terms of both range and signal strength.

How can I improve my 2 way radio reception?

If you're looking to improve your two-way radio reception, there are a few things you can do. First, make sure the radio is on and tuned to the correct frequency. Second, extend the radio's antenna if possible. Third, move to a higher location if you're in a low-lying area. Fourth, avoid obstacles between you and the radio transmitter. And fifth, if you're still having trouble, consider using a repeater. By following these tips, you should be able to improve your two-way radio reception.

How can I increase the range of my radio antenna?

You can increase the range of your radio antenna by adding a reflector. A reflector is a piece of metal that reflects radio waves back to the antenna. This increases the amount of time the radio waves spend in the antenna, which increases the range of the antenna.

Authentic Genuine Nagoya NA-771 15.6-Inch Whip VHF/UHF (144/430Mhz) Antenna SMA-Female for BTECH and BaoFeng Radios Review:

nice antenna; I purchased two. One is for my mobile device, while the other is for my dwelling. For the indoor installation, I bought a TRAM 1465 Land Mobile Base Ground Plane Kit. The Nagoya RB-50 (5" Base) 5/8 NMO Mount Magnet, 18' RG-58 PL-259, Includes Rain Cap magnet mount is what they advise, but I wouldn't use it. This antenna requires a solid ground and a ground plane. Simply put, magnet mounts can't accomplish that. With a good ground plane, you'll notice much better receive and transmit signals. With a PL-259 connector and 17 feet of RG-58 coax cable, I purchased the New Tram Browning Black 1246-B Trunk Antenna Mount NMO. You don't need to purchase an NMO to SO-239 adapter because this antenna already has one.

Motorola Original OEM APX Stubby Antenna 764-870 MHz with GPS NAR6595A Review:

The new Motorola radios (APX 6000Li) that my husband and several other members of his work adored were dreaded for having such long antennae. When the radios were attached to their duty belts, the antennae protruded very high and actually rubbed against their sides, aggravating them. Therefore, I placed an order for one of these shorter antennas for him and three more for the other departmental gentlemen who desired one as well. They all replaced the factory-installed antennas that came with their radios with these, and they are all in excellent working condition. There are no reception problems or incompatibilities at all. Their radios function precisely the same as before; however, they no longer have obscenely long antennas that irritate them while the radios are in their job belt holsters.

Antenna NA-771 15.6-Inch Whip Dual Band UV VHF/UHF 144/430Mhz Antennas SMA-F for Kenwood TYT BAOFENG UV-82 UV-B5 GT-3 BF-F8HP UV-5RA UV-5RE UV-5R by LUITON (2 Pack) Review:

decent antenna for the money. I used these to increase the range of my two-way handheld Arcshell AR-6 walkie-talkies. Due to the thickness of the rubber sheeting at the base of the antenna where it attaches to the radio, the fit is a touch snug. But it's quite effective. My portable two-way walkie talkies' range was increased by about a mile (30%). They appear to be reliable and efficient at extending the range of my two-way handheld radios overall.

TRAM 3-B-HC Fiberglass CB Antenna (Black, 3 feet) Review:

Compared to the previous antenna, this one performs significantly better (which mysteriously broke off). This 3' version should emit somewhat less power than the original 4' model because it is shorter, but it really does so more effectively. I'm crossing my fingers that my second 4' antenna will break soon so I can get another one of them!

Antenna for Motorola APX 764-870MHz Singla Band and 7-800 GPS (NAR6595A Stubby) by KCTIN (1 Pack) Review:

I moved my packset to the top after switching to an outside vest. The factory antenna was now closer to my face and, of course, the radio was higher, which was a hassle. I haven't encountered any delays or pauses while using this antenna, even while working in hills and a canyon.

WORKMAN RV1 CB RADIO ANTENNA SINGLE GROOVE MIRROR MOUNT W/ SO239 STUD Review:

This is a battleship-caliber item. Metal with stainless hardware. very thick aluminium Do not be concerned about durability. The SO-239 to stud adaptor is of decent quality, but I fitted an MFJ-341S for use with my Yaesu ATAS-100, which fits on top of it perfectly after I gently bored out the hole. Again, even with that load, there is absolutely no concern about bending. Without a doubt, it could support a tarheel.

TRAM 703-HC Center Load CB Antenna Kit Review:

This was bought to go with an Uniden 980 SSB CB Radio. Currently seems to be working fine, however there aren't many people using the CB band! After giving it some second consideration, I decided to purchase a Midland McKinley and discovered that the sunroof exceeded the predicted ground plane of these magnetic mount antennas. By adding a second physical ground wire to the radio's casing and connecting the other end of the ground wire to a ground on the car, I was able to get around this problem. Going out the side door and around the car for earlier troubleshooting, I severed the ground wire at a distance of around 15-20 feet, or enough wire to reach the battery. The extra ground cable or wire was then wound into a tiny, spherical coil with a 6 inch diameter and zip-tied. In essence, this tends to provide a radio frequency "sink" and may unintentionally add another ground plane, which may resolve my ground plane or sunroof issue. The coil of zip tied cabling was hidden below the floor console and wound up close to the vehicle's ground connection.PROS 1: Tuning is necessary when connecting to a CB radio and the antenna length can be adjusted or adjustable.2) The cable length seems appropriate.3) Solid core as opposed to a stranded core? See the 2018.06.15 comment on inconsistent performance and two stars being deducted! On 2018.06.27, an additional observation and potential resolution were made; these were also made in my second paragraph below.2018.06.15 Since the first day I bought or received this antenna for my Uniden BC980SSB CB radio, I've had problems with variable or irregular SWR calibration. 1.5-2.3, then after using the device for about two months, I experimented once more and spiked 2.5-3.0 SWR, but I was only able to hold a 1.0 SWR while holding the microphone outside the window with my index finger up my butt. I should have stopped there, but after holstering the mic and removing my finger from my butt, SWR has remained at 3.0 ever since. I replaced the LMR400 cabling after removing it because I thought the cabling was broken; the SWR improved significantly. SWR was still inconsistent, so I bought and installed the older Midland 18-2442, and today, for the first time ever, I almost instantly attained a perfect 1.0 SWR! With two hex screws and RG-58U solid core cable in place of the Tram's RG-58U stranded core, the Midland 18-2442 resembles the Tram almost exactly. According to conventional wisdom, a flexible or stranded core is preferable, however in my experience, a solid core is superior. (It's interesting to observe that the cabling on the Midland says "RG-58AU Tram-Max"!)2018.06.27 Seem to have disproved my varying or unpredictable SWR and noted the unintentional workaround or solution in my second paragraph of this review. Since there is now no time for additional testing and this antenna should operate very similarly to the Midland 12-2442, I have increased the rating by one star.

CB Antenna 28 inch for CB Radio 27 Mhz,Portable Indoor/Outdoor Antenna Full Kit with Heavy Duty Magnet Mount Mobile/Car Radio Antenna Compatible with President Midland Cobra Uniden Anytone by LUITON Review:

I'm overjoyed to be able to use this magnetic mount in place of my bumper mount antenna. Since it is using the worth of my automobile as a fix, the range is considerably better now. And compared to the previous ropes around the bumper, it now appears lot neater. The purchase was absolutely worthwhile, and it looks great. Even though I am aware of you, this would make a wonderful present. The removal of my old one was a little more difficult than the installation of this one.

How do I choose a radio antenna?

There are many factors to consider when choosing a radio antenna. Some of the most important factors include the frequency of the signal, the power of the signal, the type of antenna, and the size of the antenna. The frequency of the signal is the most important factor to consider. The antenna must be tuned to the frequency of the signal in order to receive it. The power of the signal is also an important factor. The antenna must be able to receive the signal with enough power to be able to decode it. The type of antenna is also an important factor to consider

How far can a 2 way radio transmit?

A 2 way radio can transmit up to about 30 miles under ideal conditions. However, most radios only have an effective range of about 2 miles.

How far can ham transmit?

Ham radios can transmit signals up to 150 miles, depending on the terrain.

How far will a 4 watt CB transmit?

A 4 watt CB will transmit about 1-2 miles.

How many walkie-talkies can be on the same channel?

There is no definitive answer, as it can depend on a number of factors, such as the type of walkie-talkie, the environment, and interference from other devices. In general, however, most walkie-talkies can support up to four to six units on the same channel.

Is a longer antenna better?
