Are TV trays out of style?

TV trays may not be as popular as they once were, but they're far from out of style. These handy pieces of furniture offer a convenient place to set down food and drinks, and they can be easily moved around to wherever they're needed. TV trays are also a great option for small spaces, since they can be tucked away when not in use.

Can you paint TV trays?

You can paint TV trays if you want to, but it's not necessary. You can find them in a variety of colors and styles at your local home improvement store.

Do people still use TV trays?

TV trays are often seen as a relic of the past, but they can still be useful in certain situations. For example, if you don't have a lot of space in your home, TV trays can be a good way to create extra surface area. They can also be helpful when you're entertaining guests and need somewhere to put food and drinks. Plus, TV trays can be used as a makeshift table for children to do crafts or play games. If you're looking for a budget-friendly way to add more surface area to your home, TV trays are worth considering

Winsome Lucca Snack Table, 22.83"W x 25.79"H x 15.67"D, Brown Review:

These tables are quite strong and substantial. I appreciate that each table top has a handle that can be used to effortlessly remove the table off its pedestal. When used and opened, they are durable. The staining quality method is the only factor that led me to deduct one point. The stain was definitely sprayed on, and a few of the tables' inside handle areas are thin or absent altogether. One of the table tops is also less than perfectly stained, with a large dark strip that nearly exactly like a piece of tape but isn't. It is also rough compared to the rest of the table's flat surface, but wood isn't perfect either, so, well. The stand keeps them neat when not in use, and the handle at the top of each table is very useful. * Note: The tables are all already completed, however you will need to assemble the stand that supports the tables. It takes around ten minutes. If new information seems relevant, I will update my review.

Atlantic Park Place Folding Tray 2pack Review:

They're pretty excellent trays, so I wish I could give this thing five stars. They have an attractive construction, a surface that is simple to clean, and an eccentric yet elegant design. On the top side, they have some sort of smooth veneer that prevents food and filth from getting stuck in the pores like raw hardwood trays do.The packaging, however, is an outright war crime. This is probably the only time in my life that the packaging has made me genuinely wonder whether it would have been simpler to create the product entirely from scratch using raw ingredients. Evidently, the tray was shrink-wrapped by the manufacturer before the legs were drilled into the bottom. As a result, you have the following two choices: One can either totally disassemble the tray to get rid of the plastic wrap, which always looks tacky, or they can use an exacto knife to cut away as much extra plastic as they can around the screws. I find it difficult to believe that poking holes in the plastic in the area where the legs contact the tray would be so difficult. After avoiding the plastic wrap, which is a biblical sin, you are met with the difficulty of a sticker label on the tray's surface that, when removed, leaves (you guessed it) a gooey mess of glue. Why was the label not applied to the plastic wrap? The unknown.Great trays, in short. Fire the person who is wrapping, labeling, and packaging these items for the love of all that is righteous.

Winsome Alex 2-pc Set TV Table, Natural Review:

Note the image of three of our trays. The first is the tray that we recently bought from Amazon. The second tray is a single tray from a set of four trays that we bought from a furniture store about ten years ago. When we ran out of the original four trays and wanted another, we bought the third one. This third one is somewhat flimsy and shaky. The four trays we first bought are fantastic! And now we adore the set of two trays we recently discovered on Amazon, which we think was created by the same Thai company as our initial purchase of four trays. These trays are very heavy, which helps them sit comfortably on carpet. Our older set has aged well, but they still look fantastic. Since the two new ones are unquestionably made of the same wood, we anticipate that they will do the same.Opening the tray, flipping it over, and laying it on the carpet or floor is the best way to remove the film from it. Cut around the points where the legs are joined to the bracing using a straight-edged knife. Follow those bracing' edges carefully to avoid scratching the tabletop. The film can then be slowly peeled away without damaging the wood or removing the supports. When we made our initial purchase, we did this to ensure that we did not strip the wood since if the screws were removed, the structure may become unstable. The cellophane is hidden beneath the braces and this technique works like a charm. The maker deserves praise for the packaging and wrapping. They arrived undamaged in their entirety.

PJ Wood Folding TV Tray & Snack Table - Natural Review:

These trays are great. I had a lot of them. I have a set of four that I bought from Walmart in the years 2010–2011. It had a deep brown hue. I now just have one tray left. It lasted nine years. It is now shaky since we wore it down. So I discovered this PJ tray, which matches my old set exactly. It is quite durable. Perfect with no flaws. No stains. It does not sway. Occasionally, a tray can have one leg that is shorter than the other, but this one is ideal. Now that I've discovered this. I'll be placing more orders. Not too bad for the cost. excellent quality tray I use this tray for numerous things, including eating dinner on it. It has a laptop on it, which my kids adore using to color in their coloring books. Great on wood floors and carpets.

Table Mate II Folding TV Tray Table and Cup Holder with 6 Height and 3 Angle Adjustments the Original TV Tray (Black) Review:

This TV tray has met my expectations thus far. I'm glad I bought it because I like it. Nevertheless, some of the other reviews are accurate. Although it is very light and not rock-solid, I wasn't anticipating it to be that way. My tray is supported by a bar that is flat on the ground and locks into position. Pinching to compress both sides of the pins in the holes in each leg is required to raise it up and down, which could be challenging for an elderly person or someone who has physical limitations. Although this table can be partially disassembled in order to be stored flat, I wouldn't classify flat storage as a feature of this product. The tray's cup holder glides in and out, but it's fragile and too small for several of our cups, so I'm not sure I'd trust it to keep my drink. This is something I got for my son to use outside on our porch while doing schoolwork. I needed something portable and lightweight that I could carry daily into and out of the house or garage. I appreciate that it can be tilted, lifted, or lowered. Large enough to hold textbooks and other schoolwork, the tray itself. We need something underneath the paper to write on because the top isn't smooth enough to be written on directly. Because I believed we would be less likely to unintentionally kick this model than a tray with crossed legs, I chose it. So far, I'm happy I purchased this one, but read the bad reviews as well so you can choose wisely depending on your own requirements.

Adjustable TV Tray Table - TV Dinner Tray on Bed & Sofa, Comfortable Folding Table with 6 Height & 3 Tilt Angle Adjustments by HUANUO Review:

The instructions were simple to follow and the table arrived shortly. Once assembled, the couch can be reached close enough to work on because the legs are so simple to slide under. As other reviewers have noted, the surface can occasionally be a touch unstable (side to side), but it is stable thanks to the 18-inch pole [referred to as a balancing pole in the description] put across the bottom of the construction. However, the laptop is more than solid enough to use with the mouse resting on the surface. Its front has a lip with a raised edge to hold the laptop in place (and prevent it from slipping off) when positioned at a little downward inclination, such as when reading a book. The level surface is parallel to the ground, as anticipated (although someone said it wasn't), which is beneficial for the laptop; the lip was included to prevent it from being pulled too far forward.ONLY PROBLEM: It can be conveniently stored NEXT TO A WALL or UNDER A COUCH, according to the description. That is NOT feasible in my opinion. As shown in the description's picture, the base cannot be folded together, and the top drops down. The brace at the bottom stabilizing the two legs and the "L" shaped legs with no twist position prevent the two "L" shaped legs from being twisted inward (legs height set using pins on both sides of legs - no setting for twisting and position). The best places to store this object are against to a wall with the legs facing out or at the edge of a couch with the legs pulled UNDER, as seen in photo 1. This should be reflected in the description. Instead, they display a picture of a couch with legs that can be easily folded inside and stored upright against a wall. AS BUILT, NOT POSSIBLE.

Winsome Alex TV Tables, Black Review:

This set was a compliment to a set of identical TV tables that I've had for a long time that were left behind by a previous roommate. These appeared to be comparable to what I had, so I purchased them. They did fit the prior pair's measurements and had a similar construction. The stand needs some assembly, but it's not a difficult process. The stand only took me around 15 minutes to put together. This set appeals to me because it is constructed of solid wood rather than veneered particle board or MDF. Because the wood is made up of smaller parts that are joined together, a prior reviewer complained about the product's "cheapness." I'd disagree because I've seen Andersen window sashes made in a similar way, and they are NOT inexpensive windows! Anyhow, just one of the four trays in the package I bought had the top made in this manner.Although I've only had the trays for a few weeks, they appear rather stable and I haven't seen much wobble. The stand is really functional and stable as well.Really, there were just two things with which I wasn't entirely content:1. The trays' finish seemed a little too thin for my tastes and the function I have in mind for them. The clear coat on my older units seems to be a little bit thicker, which makes them more resistant to beverage condensation and relatively simple to clean.2. The side rails and stop blocks attached to the bottom (and, to a lesser extent, the tops' bottom border) had some sharp edges. Probably not sharp enough to cut you, but under the appropriate conditions, it might give you a good scratch.Fortunately, I had some sandpaper on hand. After using some 100 grit for 10 to 15 minutes, the sharp bits were gone. I also had some 220 grit on hand, so I used it to slightly rough up the tops before coating them with polyurethane (which is currently drying).I understand that's more of a matter of personal preference, but it's something that people should be aware of before purchasing.I can definitely suggest these TV trays based on the ones that were given to me! However, if at all feasible, I would strongly advise lightly sanding the places I highlighted.

Utrax Wooden Sofa Arm Clip on Snack Table Wood Chair Armrest Tray Organizer Romote Caddy (Black) Review:

Perfect. It looks precisely like the picture and sits well. Both the little arm of our sofa and the wider, puffier arm of a chair can use it. Excellent purchase. I didn't think it was literally coming from China when it took so long to arrive, but it was well worth the wait. I just got it yesterday and am using it. Although it most certainly won't fit a dinner plate or anything else large, it does hold a drink and other small items rather securely, especially when used with a grip coaster. When removing or shutting it to store it, keep an eye on your fingers or pets! The STRONG and QUICK snap closing feature is a bit loud and frightening.Nice to look at and effective. It seems like it would be unstable. Not at all.

Lipper International Bamboo Lipped Snack Table, Set of Two, Bamboo Review:

These were purchased to replace older, flat-surfaced TV trays. The lip on the table edges really attracted my attention; it was great! My older tables frequently turned into catchalls for cash, pencils, glasses, remotes, etc. When there are too many items on a small table, things gradually fall to the ground. What is the remedy? Lipper discovered it (is that a pun?). Brilliant! My tables arrived today. I'm giving my old tables to charity tomorrow. made well. a little bit larger than my previous tables. Cash well-spent
