I've changed my rating to a 5. The best head you can buy in this price range is this one. The rest is made of plastic. I still advise saving more money or buying higher-quality items.This video head meets the minimal standards for smooth video, just like the marginally more expensive Cayer brand head. If the user micromanages the tilt, tilt maneuvers are smooth with the occasional snag, but pans are very impossible to execute without jerks. Naturally, as it costs less than $100, it cannot be expected to perform on par with a Sachtler or an O'Connor. It completes the task. Despite the fact that it took several attempts to achieve a viable shot to begin with, I was able to get passable footage by adding digital stabilization to smooth out the imperfections.The head of the locks is substantial, and the only plastic parts are the knobs, which operate well. The alignments, on the other hand, have inadequate quality control, resulting in shaky screws, awkward rosettes, and scratchy drag designs in the pan system. As a backup, portable head, I really wanted to like this, but I can't rely on it enough to retain it. Not bad for fifty dollars.

Excellent phone mount. My HTC One is protected by an Otterbox case. At roughly 225 grams, the phone is very substantial. Other phone mounts either weren't able to keep it steady or couldn't maintain their position on a solid road. This perfectly secures my phone and doesn't budge on any of the roads I've driven on so far. My phone's cover has a slightly curved back, so I wasn't sure the phone would fit in the holder securely enough, but it does. incredibly impressive The installation is not the easiest thing in the world; while it is straightforward, it can be challenging to reach the knob to tighten it in, and it is even more difficult to tighten the collar around the ball mount. You won't have to re-tighten it once you've already done so. The worst thing is that it severely obscures the screen of my CD player.But overall, I had to give it five stars because of how securely it holds my phone. I got this to attach my Canon DSLR T5i with an 18-135mm lens and a battery handle to a trekking pole monopod with multiple uses. My Canon T5i camera, 18-135mm lens, and battery grip weigh a total of precisely 3 pounds. The Ball can easily and securely hold my camera gear in place. For the camera to be securely locked in position, I don't even need to tighten the screw all the way. The camera does not sag or begin to droop at all, whether it is in landscape position or, when turned 90 degrees, in portrait orientation, and only a modest amount of force is required to firmly lock it where I want it.The very large zoom lens caused the camera to droop forward when I moved the camera 90 degrees to portrait orientation, which first worried me. However, it turned out that this was user error, or in other words, my fault. It did not in any way sag at the ball joint. The issue was that I hadn't secured the camera to the ball head with enough screws. A metal stop is located beneath the black round disc on the post, but you can't tell from the picture. You must remove the metal disc from the top of the post in order to see the metal stop. To secure the camera, screw up the disc on top of the post in the direction of the camera. However, I was unable to secure the camera with the disc alone (the camera began to sag). The answer was to first remove the disc just far enough to reveal the metal stop, screw the camera onto the metal stop, and then tighten the camera to the ball head by unscrewing the disc back up to the camera body.It's not as difficult as I might be making it out to be. Unfortunately, the metal stop is not visible in the Amazon image, so you cannot see what I'm referring about. However, as soon as you pick the item up and examine it for yourself, it will become clear to you. The use of it is in no way challenging. To make mounting and unmounting the camera simpler so I don't have to screw it on every time I want to use it, I purchased a number of fast releases. But regardless of the ball head I used, I would purchase quick releases simply because they are so much faster than screwing and unscrewing the camera from the mount.Anyway, this is a great, sturdy ball head that is light enough to carry when trekking. It weights only 78.4 grams, or 2.8 ounces, according to the postage scale I used to weigh mine. It is quite affordable to boot, and it can easily sustain my 3 pound camera equipment without any sagging in either a horizontal or vertical position. Although I am unsure of the weight restriction, it is unquestionably greater than 3lbs. According to the product's description, it can bear 2.2 kg of weight. Although I haven't tested it, I think it should be able to support that weight without any issues, if not a little more evenly. The base's diameter is 1 1/8 inches "or a tiny bit shorter than 29 mm. The screw measures roughly 2 3/16 from the bottom to the top "or 55.5 mm. No of the price, I doubt any other ball head this size will be any stronger, so...
