Best Travel Wallets in 2022

Last update: December 18, 2022

Are RFID wallets necessary 2022?

RFID wallets are not necessary in 2022. There are many other ways to protect your information and keep your cards safe.

Can I carry my wallet through airport security?

You can carry your wallet through airport security, but you will likely have to empty it out and put it through the X-ray machine. You may also be asked to remove your shoes and any metal objects you have on your person.

Can someone scan your credit card in your wallet?

If you're worried about someone scanning your credit card in your wallet, there are a few things you can do to protect yourself. First, make sure your wallet is made of a material that will block RFID signals. You can also keep your credit cards in a separate, RFID-blocking sleeve or pouch. Finally, be aware of your surroundings when you're carrying your wallet and keep it close to your body to deter pickpockets.

Do you have to notify your bank when you travel?

If you plan on using your debit or credit card while traveling, it’s a good idea to notify your bank in advance. This way, your bank will know to expect the charges and won’t flag them as suspicious activity. To be on the safe side, you can also call your bank’s customer service number while you’re away and let them know the dates and locations of your travels. That way, if your card does get flagged, you can easily resolve the issue.

Travel Money Belt, Safe, Well Designed, Comfortable Money Carrier Review:

For usage on a recent trip to Greece, Italy, and France, I bought this money belt. I am ecstatic beyond words. Given the extremely low price, I must admit that I had some qualms about the product's quality. It turned out to be quite well crafted, nevertheless. The elastic belt is so comfy that you hardly even notice that you are wearing it. Again, it's simple to forget that the wallet is there thanks to its light weight and extremely flat profile. The wallet's flat shape is also crucial because it hides the belt from view. I haven't seen any wear, not even a loose thread, though. There are two zippered pockets, one behind the other and one above it. I utilized the lower, front pocket for cash and found the top pocket to be ideal for passports (it fit both mine and my wife's effortlessly).I admit that before investigating money belts, I had never even heard of RFID, so I can't comment on that. But I can say that I'm quite happy with this money belt, and I heartily suggest it.

Travel Neck Pouch Neck Wallet with RFID Blocking – Passport Holder to Keep Your Cash And Documents Safe – Get Peace Of Mind When Traveling Review:

A couple of weeks prior to my trip to Italy, I paid $23 for this neck pouch. Throughout the entire 10-day journey, I essentially used it as my wallet to eliminate the risk of pickpockets stealing my passport, ID, credit card, debit card, cash, train tickets, etc. from my shorts pockets. The neck pouch is excellently made, with two distinct zipper pockets inside that are only divided by a thin but sturdy layer and one Velcro pocket that has two portions inside that are divided by a small mesh separator. Oh, and if you wish to use it, there is a clear slot in front for a driver's license or ID card. I wore it under my clothes and adjusted the straps so that it hung in the middle of my chest (or over my t-shirt, but under my sweatshirt). I stored my passport and identification in one zipper pocket, which I accessed infrequently, and my cash (in an envelope folded like a paper-thin bi-fold wallet) in the other zipper pocket. I stored my credit/debit cards (again, in an envelope) and train tickets in one section of the Velcro pocket and my larger cash reserves in the other section. For me, this system of organization worked effectively since I always knew where to get what I needed. The pouch is extremely airy on the back and felt as comfortable on my naked skin as anything else I've ever used. After using it for a few days while trekking, the strap did start to bother my neck a little, but I just started wearing it around the back of my hood (whenever it was cool enough to wear a hoodie). The pouch works excellent for keeping your most important documents safe and close to you at all times, pretty much precisely as stated.

Travel Money Belt with RFID Block - Theft Protection and Global Recovery Tags (Beige REG - fits most) Review:

Giving this thing five stars makes me happy. I am unable to test the RFID blocking functionality, but if it is any better than the construction quality, it will function flawlessly.I tested it out even though I won't be traveling for a long because I wanted to make sure everything functioned as promised. This money belt contains two zippered pouches (as shown in the image), the larger of which has three credit card pockets. High-quality YKK zippers are used to close the pouches, which appear to be built to last. I gave those things my best, but I was unable to get them to stop, slow down, jam, or break. Although I didn't try to rip the item, I did give the seams a hard workout without any negative consequences. The fabric appears to be some form of rip-stop. Although low profile, the belt fastener is strong enough to complete the task. For safety reasons, the closing is placed in front. All of the seams are straight and expertly sewn. The waistline is sufficiently durable without being overly large for the job. Although I haven't taken a measurement, it appears to be able to fit waists up to 48". The money belt is thin and appears to have good ventilation.I received a call from customer support right away. The corporate representative inquired as to whether the product came on schedule and in acceptable condition (it did). I had to be completely overjoyed, she insisted, or PEAK would take whatever steps were necessary to make sure I was. You rarely hear something like that. Wouldn't it be fantastic if every business adopted that strategy? As far as I can tell, PEAK only produces this one item, and they are working extremely hard to make it perfect. This item is made to last and is not some disposable item that will frustrate you or, worse, end up ruining your trip.If you've ever had your computer hacked or had someone steal from you while you were away, you know what ruin looks like.Very Strongly advised.

RFID Money Belt For Travel With RFID Blocking Sleeves Set For Daily Use [2019 NEW MODEL] Review:

During a three-week journey to the Mediterranean, where pickpockets are common, this belt is so comfy that I occasionally worried thinking it was missing. Since there are already so many excellent evaluations of the product, all of which I wholeheartedly concur with, I will only add the following:1) Enjoy the comfort and convenience of the outer mesh pocket's capacity to accommodate larger goods like a camera or phone.2) Front snap-in belt buckles are more secure and easier to put on and take off than side or back buckles.3) Belt is simple to adjust and does fit larger waists.4) Despite heavy use and several on-and-offs, the belt, zippers, and seams all performed admirably. The mixed colors that come with the tan pouch are both elegant and make it simple to identify which card is in which holder. The temperature in Granada, Spain reached a sweltering, sweating 110 degrees, but the elastic belt stayed in place so well, causing no annoyance at all.I was so pleased with this belt after using it for a week that I decided to get another one for my subsequent trip. Wrong! The one I currently possess is still flawless, and I anticipate that it will remain so for more journeys to come. I can't even begin to count the number of hours I've wasted searching for and purchasing various waist belts, fanny packs, and neck wallets over the years—all of which are not nearly as secure or comfy. Never once more My keeper is now Alpha Keeper.

Travel Money Belt RFID Blocking for Men Women Waist Wallet with 10 RFID Sleeves Review:

This item met all of my requirements perfectly. To protect my passport and my money, I went on a 10-day cruise and wore it every day. Despite the heat, I didn't perspire much, and even after a long day of walking, I didn't feel uncomfortable. Wearing it under my shirt was no issue because it is incredibly lightweight and convenient. I felt really safe during my trip, especially if we include the RFID sleeves (which at first are quite tight, but after a few times of getting the card in and out, they are fine). I actually purchased two of them—one for my wife, who shared my joy in purchasing them.

Slim Minimalist Design Money Belt, RFID Blocking for Men & Women - Ideal for Keeping Your Cash, Credit Card, Passport, Phone Safe When Traveling Review:

During my two-week journey to Europe, I wore this frequently and found it to be a really practical item to keep my cash, identification, and credit cards. I spent a lot of time in Barcelona, Catalonia, and I bought this to be ready because I had heard about the pickpocket issue in the city's touristy places in advance. I had a little bit more peace of mind using this device in crowded places because it was convenient. This belt is simple to put on around the waist and may be worn outside of a belt or pair of pants for increased security, or it can be tucked in at the waist with ease. The substance is strong and lightweight. Two zipper pouches are included, one smaller for holding cash, credit cards, hotel room cards, etc., and the other larger for holding IDs or cards, a smartphone or a tiny, thin camera. I managed to cram my iPhone 6 Plus into the bigger pouch, but doing so increases weight (I tucked it underneath my belt-line when doing that). The belt is the only thing preventing me from giving it five stars. It's a little too thin for my tastes, and the size adjustment clasp frequently loosened, requiring me to retighten it repeatedly throughout the day (I will disclose I have a bit of a spare tire around the middle). Additionally, the bag was prone to frequently folding in two at the beltline. For this product, I would ideally want to see a thicker, better belt.Other than that, I'll definitely be utilizing this valuables pouch more often, whether I'm traveling or just using it around the house.

Zoppen Passport Holder Travel Wallet (Ver.5) for Women Rfid Blocking Multi-purpose Passport Cover Document Organizer Strap, Wine Red Review:

Amazing wallet! I already own the older version, but I feel like the fresh updates made the new version worthwhile. (For comparison, I've attached images of the previous model in plum and this new one in black.)The previous one could only fit one passport; this one can fit two. There are now 4 card slots on the left, however the pocket for receipts and tickets is still present. I can now even fit my phone inside of it. I had no trouble slipping my iPhone 6s, which is covered and has a pop socket attached, in and out of the phone compartment. Unlike several wristlets I own, the wallet could be closed and kept closed with ease. The material is as sturdy as saffiano leather, so I don't have to be concerned about scratches. This wallet is ideal for travel, and it also functions flawlessly as a wristlet. Happy to get the upgraded one.

Lewis N. Clark RFID Blocking Stash Neck Wallet, Travel Pouch + Passport Holder for Women & Men, Black Review:

I adore this buy beyond words. I purchased the "Neck Stash Hidden wallet in Taupe." I adore the color, and it serves my purpose perfectly. To Lagoon in Farmington, Utah, we rode it. I simply placed my wallet beneath my sports bra and zipped up my phone and spectacles. It remained still, even on the cannibal! It wasn't as obvious as you'd think, and I'm a little bustier than usual. It offers me piece of mind knowing that I'm not hiding my belongings in bushes close to the ride (I've done that before with my glasses, lol). I strongly recommend it.The size is also quite excellent. It's not clunky and annoying, and it managed to hold both my sister's phone and my phone (an iPhone 5s) (iPhone 6 - with a tighter squeeze). When I had both phones in my wallet, I couldn't fit my glasses, but when I only had one phone, I was able to fit an iPhone and both of my glasses (without a cover) in the wallet.I adore the numerous pockets and zippers it has. While riding the roller coasters, it made me feel more at peace. Overall, for hands-free, locker-free enjoyment at amusement parks, I heartily endorse this.Absolutely worth the cost! a lot less expensive than renting a locker.

Zero Grid Neck Wallet w/RFID Blocking- Concealed Travel Pouch & Passport Holder Review:

For our trip to Europe, I bought this. really light. I was able to fit two US passports in the large pocket, my phone in the medium pocket, money (in euros), my credit cards, and identification in the smallest pocket, just like in the image. The neck lanyard that was attached, which was discrete and not overly bulky, was not used by me. You can hang this off of your belt thanks to the sturdy loops. I wore it dangling in front of my pelvis close to my belt buckle. This made it very easy to access cash and credit cards, and I believe that location would have made it very challenging for a pickpocket to succeed since they would have needed to reach around and feel me up! Ha! :-)Keep in mind that this wallet will not accommodate one of the larger cell phones. I COULD hardly put my medium-sized cell phone (a Droid Turbo) into a pocket that was also medium-sized. In a perfect world, I would have placed it in the back mesh pocket. They could have achieved this if they had made the mouth of the pocket half an inch bigger, which seemed like it would be simple to do. This straightforward modification would have made the wallet compatible with a much larger cell phone and made it the ideal wallet for me.

RFID Blocking Travel Wallet - Money Belt & Passport Holder for Women Men - Black Review:

The majority of cards and passports include RFID (Radio Frequency ID), making them simple to scan. That, regrettably, also means that they may "theoretically" be scanned by criminals who approach you. That issue is resolved with this tiny wallet/belt. It is cozy and has a lot of storage space, but you have to be careful to put the actual RFID objects in one of three designated, secure spots. The wallet includes two compartments, the front of which is lined with RFID-resistant material. Three mesh pockets and a much larger storage area may be found in the back compartment. Both the belt and the snaps are made of durable plastic. The materials are good. Although the majority of it is polyester, the seams surrounding the nylon zippers and belt connectors are doubled. Since the fabric is "rip stop," it won't expand if you develop a tear. It must endure well. With this design, there is one IMPORTANT factor to keep in mind. Only the exterior of the compartment is covered by the RFID protection. As a result, the main compartment's ends are not shielded. Thus, even though they might be utilized for cell phones and other items, some components of the main pouch might not keep you safe. You should keep your cards, passport, and other valuables in one of four locations to ensure security:- The smaller pocket is shielded from all sides.Other goods will be held in the three mesh pouches so that they are also protected. Simply turn the RFID section of the card—or whatever—so that it is facing down and is completely covered.A excellent way to safeguard your money, whether it be physical or digital. Recommended.
