No, all toy train tracks are not the same size. The most popular toy train tracks are made by the company, Bachmann. These tracks have a gauge of 18.5mm. Some other companies make tracks that are a different gauge, such as 16.5mm or 20mm.

Are old Lionel trains worth money?

Did Lionel go out of business?

I don't know if Lionel went out of business, but I do know that they stopped making toy trains in 2009. They now focus on model trains.

Dinosaur Toys Tracks Car Boy Gifts Review:

This track parts toys were welcomed! Unlike most tracks, the track sections snap together simply and there aren't many extra bits that get misplaced or thrown away. When the complete track is put together, there is a lot of freedom because the individual track components are dynamic and can twist left or right. It is a versatile track. I even let it to flex from the floor over my leg to the floor again, which is cool because the included truck, which is robust but requires a battery, runs along the track incredibly nicely while it is operating. I find this track to be incredibly distinctive and energizing because it is so different from others. Your children will enjoy it. My son and daughter enjoyed this a lot.

Tiny Conductors 12 Wooden Train Cars, 1 Bonus Crane, 4 Bonus Connectors, Locomotive Tank Engines and Wagons for Toy Train Tracks, Compatible with Thomas Wood Toy Railroad Set (Trains) Review:

This tiny train set is fantastic! I conducted a lot of research, and this set was the one that most appealed to me. The set actually exceeded my expectations when I got it! Each engine and vehicle is expertly made, paying close attention to every last detail. The extra track pieces and amusing bonus crane make this kit a fantastic value. Three of the twelve cars are a bit too tall to fit under the Melissa and Doug train track bridge, which is the only thing I have to comment about. (I was able to modify two of them so they would now fit under the bridge. They are too adorable not to use them all, so I'll ultimately edit the other one too! Other than that, they appear to be in excellent condition and will last a very long time, so my grandchildren can enjoy them. Highly advised!

Orbrium Toys 52 Pcs Deluxe Wooden Train Set with 3 Destinations Fits Thomas, Brio, Chuggington, Melissa and Doug, Imaginarium Wooden Train Review:

I'd like to begin by stating how much I adore this train set—its quality, its trains, its accessories, and of course, its cost. After reading this review, I'm planning to buy more Orbrium products because of my love for them. The trains are heavy, the pieces are well-crafted, all but the train wheel parts are made of wood, the paint is long-lasting, etc. It's a very nice, basic set for the price. However, the photographs I've supplied show that it is not without flaws. Although all of this only results in a one-star loss, I believe it should be noted. The mirror image is the least significant image. You are not limited to merely having a particular number of right- and left-handed bends because all of the curved track components have indented train tracks on both sides. This, however, only applies to the curves; any non-curved item is merely one-sided (Though you can turn it to get the opposite orientation). The disadvantage of this is that, unlike the curve pieces, if that side is damaged, it is virtually destroyed. It only appears to be a consumer-harming cost-cutting tactic. The piece for the road crossing is another little detail that may be enhanced (included in a picture). For whatever reason, it's male connector piece is unique from all the others. It's strange, even yet it still works. The track pieces offered are my major issue and may have merited two or more stars overall. The sections that are provided for the track are asymmetrical. A comparison of the straight piece and the road crossing piece is shown to demonstrate that they even aren't the same size in the image provided (the one with the five different tracks). If you want to create any other track that is not from the box, this is a problem. The train cannot safely descend from the bridge without derailing due to the next issue (the last two shots), given the momentum of the train, unless it is done in the way shown in the pictures. Either using the longest straight piece or the longest curve piece that is available. The issue is that a bespoke track cannot be built that won't derailed without purchasing additional sections or omitting the bridge because it is asymmetrical and includes junction pieces. The train is derailed even by the box example. Why then do I still rate it four stars? Because it deserves 4 stars given the quality, attention, and love that they, along with my kid, give to it. I was going to give it a 2 because they gave us less than we were promised, but then added a bridge that was interesting but broke the track, so I chose not to punish them for creating an interesting, if slightly "broken," track. And I don't think it can be beaten for the price. This set is amazing even without the additional track components. Even without it, if you don't mind the odd derailing, it's still a wonderful play set.

Toy Train Set- 39 Piece Wooden Track & Train Pack Fits Thomas, Brio, Chuggington, Melissa- Kids Friendly Building & Construction Toy- Expandable, Changeable-Fun for 2+ Years Old Girls & Boys Review:

I'm a content mother. My son enjoys using his brand-new train set. The tracks are simple to assemble and are not at all heavy. The set is the perfect size. You may create various train rails. I really adore the bridge that was included. Playing with his new train town is fun for my youngster. Additionally, this is the ideal present for holidays and birthdays. It's also great for girls because it includes a house, two girls and a boy, three trains, five trees, and a street light. The workmanship is amazing. Will purchase a second one to expand the track. Additionally, the box doubles as a carrying case, making it portable.

Wooden Train Tracks Full Set, Deluxe 55 Pcs with 3 Destination Fits Thomas, Brio, IKEA, Chuggington, Imaginarium, Melissa and Doug - Best Gifts for Kids Toddler Boys and Girls Review:

I bought this for my grandson, who is currently obsessed with trains and is almost two and a half. A little too old for him, but it's at my place, and when he gets upset, he has my whole focus. With a little coaxing and diversion, we are both having fun. I did a ton of research before making this wonderful purchase during a flash sale. For a temporary toy, I didn't want to spend a lot of money. The only problem I discovered was that the ascending track connecting to the bridge was a little too low, so I had to make a little adjustment to raise it so the train could pass over it without any difficulty. Considering the caliber and quantity of the components included, this is not a deal-breaker. We haven't even utilized all the provided components yet after I customized the track pattern to fit his abilities and age. I think this purchase was a wise financial decision.

100-Piece Orbrium Toys Triple-Loop Wooden Train Set Fits Thomas Brio Chuggington Review:

We adore this set, which we purchased about a month ago. Every day since he was two years old, my son has played with the track and trains. When you have a toddler butt whipping around the bridge as his other end plays with the other side of the track, who can blame the product? As other reviews have noticed, tracks don't always remain truly "tight" together, especially the bridge parts. There are only a very small number of straight tracks and no double connector pieces (female-female/male-male track pieces), which can be frustrating when trying to build something other than the track that is depicted on the box. These are the two design drawbacks of this set, not of the tracks or the items, but of what is included in the set. However, we recently returned from IKEA with a box of track components that included various straight tracks and connection pieces. These parts fit flawlessly with the Orbrium set, and we have already assembled several complicated trains for our toddler to play with and disassemble. Our satisfaction with the product is excellent. :thumbs-up:We have now owned this product for about a year (2 year update). I would definitely add another star if I could. The item is just as good today as it was then! It has endured all the abuse my now 4-year-old and his 1.5-year-old brother put out on a regular basis admirably. Not just the tracks, but also the trains and all the other tiny miniatures that are included in the set, are what I'm referring to. This kit is not only inexpensive but also entertaining and long-lasting in the world of garbage toys that the toy industry is. Just fantastic.

KidKraft Waterfall Mountain Train Set and Table Review:

(Wife):PROS:1. When the table is entirely put together, we've discovered that it appears solid enough to hold a child weighing about 28 lbs while they play with Lego DUPLO blocks and other toys on it.2. In our set, you can flip over the two top pieces to reveal the natural wood color underneath if they don't show you photographs of this. So you can utilize the table in either situation. Just keep in mind that the hue and design are only veneer; I highly doubt they're made of wood.3. Three red slide-under storage bins for the train tracks and other elements were included with our kit. For us, this has been fantastic. Up to a point, there is space for some larger objects that protrude from the top of one of the bins. So far, there have been no issues.4. This set also includes a wonderful selection of vehicles, including an airplane, a helicopter, a boat for the water elements painted on one side of the table, and a railway set with detachable shipping containers that the crane can pull off the freight cars. In addition to some lovely wooden individuals with very detailed features painted on them (and then varnished, I believe — probably with kid-safe paint / varnish, as we haven't yet seen any off-gassing), the set also contains a number of trees and traffic signs.5. If you have a late talker like us and are prepared to use this set to play with your child, this set strikes me as a potential gold mine for language development / speech therapy (and talk about what stuff does). I believe there are too many features to use at once, but we switch them out while we work on creating language specific to the vehicles, features, etc.NEUTRAL:1. Even though the upper part of the waterfall element is a little challenging to install, our two-year-old adores it. We haven't tightened up the upper part of our waterfall yet; instead, we're having a "wait and see" attitude, in part because the upper tunnel may have a few lightly jagged edges. When the top section isn't working, we can still use the bottom part. My daughter does enjoys using the included boat and treating the waterfall and boat like a log flume ride when the top portion of the waterfall will stay still. While not very safe or practical in real life, at least by doing this we can learn new words and eventually talk about whitewater kayaking safety. I'd rather let her study new things for the time being and hope that she eventually discovers creativity.2. The elevated track supports indeed hold the pieces firmly, but because of how closely they hug the track, it is practically difficult for me to utilize one of the supports to join two elevated track pieces together. Additionally, curved track is not actually compatible with the elevated supports. I suggest the Maxim Enterprise Inc Multi Level Support Risers, 6-Piece in its place (red — available here on Amazon). Two pieces of track of any kind, excluding speciality track junction parts, will connect and stay in place if you use double-sided tape to attach them to the top of the Maxim supports. But you'll probably end up with a trail on the ground. However, we discover that the Maxim set really lessens our daughter's annoyance about pieces falling over. These supports can be piled straight on top of one another or staggeredly on top of one another to save storage space. ;) So, there you have it—my advice on that. The bridge and the waterfall both serve as suitable supports for joining parts. Yay! = D3. The train's magnets and track-side wheel alignment are of average quality. Even though the wheels do not always remain completely in the track grooves, it usually still functions satisfactorily for us. But if you want to use a superior train, by all means, go ahead. Additionally, keep in mind that you can use the wooden cars included with the kit in place of or in addition to the train on the tracks.CONS:1. This table can come with a few flaws.2. Due to the thin veneer on this table, some things, such as Legos, may cause minor scratches or other damage. (This table DOES NOT offer a surface for legos. Depending on our daughter's preferences, we only use DUPLO bricks on ours, along with train tracks and other items.)3. Although our daughter is currently supported by this table, we won't want to have her test that over an extended period of time. I'm not as worried about us as I would be for any family with boisterous climbers or kids who enjoy rough housing because she mostly utilizes it as intended. Although this table has served us well thus far, a higher-quality option would probably be solid wood or even robust plywood. In fact, had our daughter not fallen in love with this particular train table, I would have almost purchased one. Generally speaking, I'm happy that she did.4. Although the parts in this set are not typically "choke" size, I would still advise employing caution around young children just in case.5. While I believe everyone is aware that the table needs to be put together, a few of the toy objects also do. These products occasionally involve small screws that should be kept out of the reach of young children. Build everything while the kids are sleeping, is my advise.6. According to my husband, the instructions only addressed table assembly. As a result, to put together the structure with the helipad, for instance, you'll probably want to call up a picture of this table. The bridge is rather uncomplicated. Ensure that you locate the lengthy piece with the wood attached underneath at either end and the corresponding drill holes marked for putting the plastic bridge sections in. (To help stabilize the bridge sides, plastic rods in the shape of dowels are also used to attach the plastic bridge sides.)7. A few of the wooden track's component parts attach fairly tightly. They do appear to be of quite decent quality overall, and I believe that the specialist components are the only ones that have peg male connectors.Anyway, I believe that covers things quite well.

Amazing electric train set!Possibilities for use with the Mellisa and Doug and Brio train sets!- Very good selection of props- Wooded tracks are expertly crafted. The wood is soft to the touch and includes a battery-powered TRAIN!- Outstanding Value for the MoneyCons: Compared to Mellisa, Doug, and Brio tracks, the wooden tracks feel a little bit lighter. But they all function flawlessly!- Expecting a 4 by 4 train motor from this small toy set is unrealistic. I did. Just a little more power would be nice!INTRAINS (crazy) Train Set, all around! Lionel The Polar Express Battery-powered Model Train Set, Ready to Play with Remote Review:

Adding lights to the coaches will make them shine.1. Purchase wire string lights with batteries. The ones we have with a 6 double a battery box won't fit, therefore I would choose for those that accept three double a batteries. Without any problems, I was able to install two independent three double a battery boxes for string lights in the coach. I positioned one on each side of the poles, one on each side. I do suggest two sets because the one I had in there before was quite dull. I recently purchased a set from Amazon called "MINGER 16.4Ft Fairy Light Battery Operated 2 Pack," which I am currently checking out. (The amazon listing constantly changing names for some reason; if it doesn't first appear, you might need to search with less words to locate it.) They are Bluetooth-controlled, so when I'm ready to use them, I use an app to switch them on or off so I can reassemble the coach without using up too many batteries. You are not required to buy those. Any will do, although you should look for any that have at least a timer. After you're done, you can always leave the coach's top unscrewed; it will stay on top because it sort of fits into place. However, if you have young children as I do, your coach can frequently wind up being opened and the lights turned off.2. Using a fine-tipped screwdriver, remove three screws from the bottom of your first coach. There will be no problems removing the top. Keep an eye out for the screws. Some of them remain inside, while others leave.3. Remove the red plastic window piece with the window decals. If you're not careful, the stickers can come off.4. Because the coach is made of plastic, place aluminum foil inside to keep light from entering everywhere else than the windows. All of the coach's surfaces that you don't want light to pass through should be lined with foil.5. Place the battery boxes in the bus on top of the foil and attach your battery-operated wire led string lights to them.6. Until all of the wire has been utilized, tightly wrap the wire lights around the inside poles of the bus from one end to the other.7. Reinstall the plastic window piece after making sure there is no wire in the way. Ensure that the holes are positioned over the poles.8. To cover the openings in the plastic window piece, cut a piece of aluminum foil. Make sure to drill holes where necessary to create space for the intersection of the poles from top to bottom.9. Turn on the lights and/or reattach the top.10. Continue for the second coach. It's all done; you're done. Yay. For a little fraction of the price, these glow just like the o gauge set. At this stage, you have the option to secure the screws back on. It's not necessary unless you have kids or animals who might try to get into the coaches and make it more difficult to turn on/off the lights if you need to change batteries, but you have to do what you have to. At whatever pace thus far, the cap on mine remains unscrewed. If you do this to your train, keep in mind that the windows will shine through red rather than yellow because the yellow windows are simply stickers placed on red pieces of plastic, which is why the color that shines through is red. Another thing to note is that even though the coach is lighting, the shadows of the individuals on the stickers are barely perceptible. To avoid too much focused light coming through the windows, keep the string lights as close as you can to the center of the coach.Review: This train is a little irritating. The improved model of this train is ours. the track gauge that runs on electricity. I believe that Lionel's quality has declined over time. We chose to get this so that the tree would be surrounded by something more sturdy this year. Its chuffing noise is quite grating and monotonous—almost like a broken record. Like a true steam engine, there is no variance in the chuff. This sounds less authentic than my son's $20 wooden train set. What's worse is that you are unable to alter the sound, reduce the level, or turn off the chuff. On our more costly set, you can disable the chuff, which is almost as irritating on that one. But I suppose they made the cheap decision to leave that out.Additionally, this device eats up c batteries. If you have children who enjoy watching the train move around in circles, you should probably purchase a 50 pack to last you through Christmas. In two days, it utilized 6.The illuminating coaches from our more expensive set were one thing I missed, so I added lights to them. As you may have already noticed, the directions are mentioned at the top of the review, so it was fairly easy.Other than that, I believe it is probably worth the cost. Since I first paid $68 and felt that was too much, I actually raised my rating by one star. When the cost dropped to $50, I called Amazon, and thanks to their excellent customer service, they price-matched the item for me and returned the difference. I gave the train a higher grade since I believe $50 to be a more reasonable price. If it's over that at the time you're reading this review, I'd suggest waiting if you can to see if the price will drop once more. I wouldn't pay much more than that. Save it for later by simply adding it to your cart. If the price ever changes, Amazon will notify you in a small message at the top of your cart. Overall, Lionel should get rid of the annoying chuf and switch to something a little more realistic, in my opinion. or at the very least always give you the choice to mute it. It serves its purpose, and we are largely satisfied with it. My kids also love it.

TEMI Electronic Classic Railway Train Sets w/ Steam Locomotive Engine, Cargo Car and Tracks, Battery Operated Play Set Toy w/ Smoke, Light & Sounds, Perfect for Kids, Boys & Girls, Red Review:

The youngster who received this train set from me as a gift is completely enamored with it. I put the boy's railway together with his assistance, and it was much simpler than I had anticipated. The real smoke that is blown out from the train combined with the LED lights and authentic train sound makes for the game's most entertaining feature. I must admit that the smoke got to me, lol! Overall, these train sets are a fantastic gift option for small children. To my relatives and friends, I'd heartily suggest it!
