Yes, weight safe hitches are good. They are designed to keep your trailer from becoming detached from your vehicle while you are driving.
A class 3 hitch can tow a car if the towing vehicle is powerful enough. The weight of the car being towed, plus the weight of the trailer, must not exceed the towing capacity of the vehicle.
There are three ways to tell what class your hitch is. First, you can look at the label that is affixed to the hitch. Second, you can measure the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the outermost edge of the hitch. Third, you can measure the width of the hitch.
A 2 inch ball can pull up to 12 pounds of weight.

Get the only dual hitch receiver available. The best is this. Spend the additional funds.I have two drawbacks, but they aren't major.1) I wish it were a little bit shorter.2) Because it is so sturdy, no anti-rattle blocks may be inserted into the inner bar that slides into your car's hitch receiver because it is made of solid steel. But I believe a U-bolt design will work.

I've tried a number of ball mounts, and this one is the finest I've ever used. The polished surface adds a wonderful, premium touch, and the structure is really sturdy. The shaft is a little bit longer than other attachments I have, which will move the weight of the trailer tongue more behind the rear axle. Depending on your car and trailer configuration, this may or may not be a positive thing. For me, it operates flawlessly. I like to keep this in my car at all times in case I need it at a moment's notice, so the low weight is a bonus.

With the help of this, we were able to put a bicycle carrier behind the spare tire and lengthen the hitch on our RV. The bikes remained stable and safe during our trip from New England to Baja California and back, without rattling or wobbling. Other applications include moose calling, acting as a spyglass for a pirate, whacking rodents, and using it as a chair's crutch in an emergency. The manufacturer does not endorse these other usage.

Although it wasn't a problem, I noticed that the sides were somewhat angular, like the steel had been rough-cut (the area the ball is attached to). Just thought you might be interested in this as I don't often see that. I don't because the unit is flawless and just what I wanted, plus the paint is good. I'd buy it once more.

My pickup camper is 18 inches longer than my truck box, so I bought this to lengthen my receiver hitch. My 3000 lb boat can be pulled with ease using this. The boat doesn't seem to swing more than usual when being towed. Additionally, I'll use it as a bike rack. This seems to be quite solidly built, just like other Reese things I've used.Several items to consider are:The maximum gross trailer weight for this extension, which has a 2" to 2" receiver, is 4000 lbs. However, you are not allowed to exceed 65% of your vehicle's hitch rating. (Some extensions impose a 50% vehicle hitch rating cap on you.)- To reach your vehicle hitch, you might need to extend the length of your trailer safety chains. The safety chains cannot be fastened to the extension.- To connect your trailer light wire to your car outlet, you might need to extend it.

Extension that feels really sturdy and is much heavier than I anticipated. Although I'm not sure how long it is, the primary tube at the hitch end has a second tube welded within it to provide added strength. Because of this, cutting down the excess when using it for a shorter length or with some spare tires will be a little more challenging. No matter what length you intend to use, you must either remove the spare tire from GM trucks or shorten the extension since the spare prevents the extension holes from aligning with the hitch (this was also the case with another brand I used for a shorter extension). I removed the spare before having the tube cut for my application because I'm currently testing with length, but it appears to be functioning nicely.

A class 3 hitch is designed to tow up to 8,000 pounds, so it can handle most smaller trailers and RVs.
There are a few things to consider when deciding if a Class 2 or Class 3 hitch is better for your vehicle. Class 2 hitches have a weight capacity of 3,500 lbs and a tongue weight capacity of 350 lbs, while Class 3 hitches can tow up to 8,000 lbs and have a tongue weight capacity of 800 lbs. If you are planning on towing a trailer that is under 3,500 lbs, then a Class 2 hitch is likely all you will need. Class 2 hitches are also less expensive than Class 3 hitches. However, if you
A trailer should be level when towing for a number of reasons. First, it helps to distribute the weight evenly and prevents the trailer from becoming unbalanced. Second, it helps to prevent the trailer from swaying from side to side, which can be dangerous. Third, it helps to improve fuel efficiency by reducing drag. Finally, it helps to provide a smoother ride for both the trailer and the vehicle.
There are 4 types of hitches: 1. The receiver hitch is the most common type of hitch. It is the type of hitch that is typically used on SUVs and trucks. 2. The drawbar hitch is commonly used on trailers. 3. The fifth wheel hitch is typically used on RVs. 4. The gooseneck hitch is often used on horse trailers.
The three types of hitches are the ball hitch, the pin hitch, and the receiver hitch. The ball hitch is the most common type of hitch, and is typically used to tow trailers. The pin hitch is less common, and is typically used to tow smaller trailers or to secure a trailer to a vehicle. The receiver hitch is the most versatile type of hitch, and can be used to tow a variety of trailers.
A class 3 hitch is typically used to tow trailers weighing up to 6,000 pounds. However, the weight capacity of a class 3 hitch can vary depending on the make and model of your vehicle. Always consult your vehicle's owner's manual for the maximum towing capacity.
