If your flange is damaged or corroded, it is probably best to replace it when you replace your toilet. A new flange will provide a more secure connection between your toilet and the drain pipe, which will help to prevent leaks.
If you have a leaky toilet fill valve, there are a few things you can do to fix it. First, try tightening the valve nut. If that doesn't work, you may need to replace the washer. If the leak is coming from the valve itself, you may need to replace the entire valve.
When you are looking at your toilet, there are a few different parts that you can identify. The first part is the tank, which is where the water is stored that is used to flush the toilet. The second part is the bowl, which is where you do your business. The third part is the flapper, which is a valve that controls the water going from the tank to the bowl. The fourth part is the fill valve, which is what fills the tank with water after it is flushed.
There are a few things to consider when purchasing a toilet valve. The first is the size of the valve. The next is the type of valve, which is either a compression valve or a shut-off valve. Lastly, you need to decide if you want a single-handle or a double-handle valve.

I got these for two toilets in addition to a handle after reading a review of the Mansfield toilet handle that stated that if your handle broke or is difficult to push down, your true problem is that your small seal needs to be changed. The handle most likely wouldn't break if the seals were replaced first! The improvement in flushing comfort was astounding. He was entirely correct. Because seals deteriorate and stick to the canister, handles break. The instructions now sounded simple and straightforward, but I was unable to follow them, so I devised my own method. Yes, the toilet flushes when the water is turned off. However, it specifies turning something a quarter turn while keeping the hose connected. That I was unable to accomplish because I was concerned about starting a bigger issue. Instead, I extracted the tiny hose from its opening, slipped my hands around the canister, and tore off the old seal, which was easily destructible. After that, I lowered this one from the top, over the entire canister, and slightly stretched it to go around the mechanism all the way to the bottom. The new seal really includes a small plastic lip above and below that you can feel with your fingers since it fits into a small track. If you do it incorrectly, the toilet will run nonstop. I completed my first one without any issues. The second one, however, strayed just a little way from that narrow course, and if you do that, you'll discover that a significant amount of water will continue to leak into the toilet bowl even after the tank has been filled. Again turning off the water, I fiddled with it until it felt almost "click" into place. Keep in mind that this is down behind the canister where you can't see it. Perfect! A novice like myself will benefit from this review, which goes beyond a mere summary.

I'm happy I bought them. They fit snugly and require almost no effort to install; there is no wobbling. It was as simple as pushing them over the bolts and giving them a few blows with the palm of my hand. I'm done now.So why only four instead of five stars? As far as toilet bolt caps go, they are expensive. Therefore, there is a small premium for the convenience. They are huge and bulbous, which is another consequence of one size fitting all. Three, the cap has a hemisphere on a cylinder as its basic shape. When compared to the caps that come with our high-end Toto toilets, you can see that they have a more attractive design.I understand it would sound a little crazy to include both "beautiful shape" and "toilet bolt cap" in the same phrase. However, the rest of the toilet clearly demonstrates that we spent more than $400 on those Toto toilets. As a result, the tank has an elegant curve rather than being a simple rounded rectangle like you would get if you went to Home Depot and bought the same items that contractors use to install toilets in low-rent apartments. Additionally, it doesn't seem unreasonable to request a bit extra design when you're spending $10 for a toilet bolt cap set.Having examined the specifications of each aftermarket bolt cap, I came to the conclusion that these were the only ones I could be certain would be compatible with my excessively long bolts. Maybe one day, during a psychotic episode, I'll pull out my hacksaw and trim the bolts so that the adorable little Toto caps will fit. I'm pleased these were offered up until then.

This is a fantastic tool, and considering that I had two Kohler toilets that had the same issue, it was much easier and far less expensive to use it than to hire a plumber. They were a top-notch product that even included instructions. Some tips for clarification1) The key is to hold the canister up and turn the valve stem inside the cylinder 1/4 turn counterclockwise from underneath the canister (but still inside the tank). If you use your hand to feel, the bottom will provide far more leverage than the top. You run the risk of breaking the valve stem if you try to turn the canister from the top. The kit has to make it clear that this important information.2) Be sure to wipe the area free of any old, rotting rubber from the old seal after removing the valve stem and the old gasket before installing the new gasket. To avoid any of this debris interfering with your new seal, you can use a tissue for this.3) The new seal will initially appear too small when you apply it. It's not; all you have to do is gently press the inner ring of the seal on the canister's lip. To achieve a good fit, you should circle it a few times. Your toilet will likely continue to leak if you don't do this (and to continue frustrating you).4) To put it back together, simply reverse what you just did, being careful to spin the valve stem from underneath the canister rather than the top. Give it a few test flushes as well to make sure it functions properly and the seal is in place.5) A few folks here claim that the fix takes 30 seconds. No, go slowly and thoroughly. It takes less than 5 minutes each toilet, even with the aforementioned safety measures and test flushes.Voila! Due to your diligence, you now merit an adult beverage.

This 15/16 x 15/16 x 3/8 (7/8 x 7/8 x 3/8) pipe was purchased for use with a bidet attachment for my toilet. Despite my best efforts, the T-adapter that came with the bidet always leaked, leading me to strip the threads on the toilet fill valve. This T-adapter performed flawlessly the first time. No Teflon tape, no stripped threads, and no leaks! For everyone who, like me, is concerned about the dimensions, don't be. The 15/16" T-adapter and my new toilet fill valve both fit well with my 7/8" water source line and 15/16" T-adapter, respectively. This was simple to install and has thus far performed as promised.

This product appears to be composed of TPR (thermoplastic rubber). Probably a better material with good tear resistance. Only time will tell if the chain attachment outperforms the standard rubber-like substance in terms of durability. Where I always fall short is with the chain attachment. The Toto THU500S, which replaces the THU140S, is another model to take into account. This Toto model has a flexible rubber-like seal sandwiched between two hard plastic components, with the chain attached to the lower hard part. The chain attachment should last as long as the Toto seal does.

Just to be clear, my box included exactly what was shown in the image. Tank, internal tank gasket, gasket connecting tank to bowl, and two nuts. The plastic multi wrench and flush handle/linkage that you might have seen in some YouTube videos with individuals explaining how to replace this were not present. I had ordered the Flushmate cable style flush handle, but I already had a set of adjustable pliers meant for oil filters on autos that worked just well. Since everything is plastic, you won't need to tighten anything very firmly. Additionally, I had a Geberit PF/2 Model 150-403 and a Crane bowl/tank, and they both fit well. However, I later learned that Geberit no longer produces this product and that there are no spare parts available. With the cable handle, the entire replacement process took roughly 20 minutes. Watch a few youtube videos first; changing this out is not difficult and shouldn't take a plumber more than 30 minutes. If you feel uncomfortable doing this, a plumber should only charge a trip fee and a small hourly rate. Installed on 09/2017; I'll update if anything changes.

Brass plated bolts makes for great resistant capability against corrosion, tarnish and scratching

Bolt's length: 2-3/4 inch; Thread diameter: 3/10 inch
Package includes: 2 pieces of bolts, 2 pieces of washers, and 2 pieces of nuts for an easy DIY project installation

The two bolts, two metal washers, two rubber washers, and other components that lock it into place were included with the product. It fit perfectly and was incredibly simple to install. I couldn't use the rubber washers since they were too broad and would have prevented me from closing the lid that covers the nuts, but the metal washers were the correct size.Overall, replacing the old plastic ones with the new metal ones only took five minutes.

I bought this two-pack and installed it in about ten minutes because my Champion 4 was ghost flushing around every hour. For a silicone plastic item, it seems absurd that my original seal had numerous large blisters on it. It makes sense why it leaked. The toilet is roughly four years old, and I did briefly use some bleach tablets in the tank. I have a different toilet that is identical and was installed at the same time, but it hasn't leaked yet and was never given tank bowl cleaner. I can infer that any bowl cleaner product put in the tank will hasten the failure of these components.I cut the blisters open with a tool knife out of curiosity, and water dripped out. Now that it appears to be somewhat flat, the bottom surface may actually seal. If you are examining before buying new seals, this can be a temporary fix.

I run a rooter company. When I remove a toilet to gain access to a sewage system, I replace the wax seal, the supply pipe, and the closet bolts before reinstalling the toilet. I began utilizing these caps and nuts. Separately purchased brass Joni bolts eliminate the risk of rust. Since the caps are tall enough, the closet bolts don't need to be shortened. The covers are simple to remove and fit snugly onto the nuts. The nuts fasten the toilet without the need for tools or the risk of overtightening harming the toilet flange or destroying the toilet foundation. Although ordering them via Amazon is more expensive than doing it directly from American Standard, unless you're buying a lot, Amazon is more practical.

STOPPING "RUN-ON" IN YOUR ANCIENT ONE-PIECE KOHLER TOILET1>> Rotate the screw at the top-center of the balcock mechanism by one-fourth of a turn to the right. If required, repeat; however, don't do it too frequently. Give it time to succeed. The reservoir's water level is reduced as a result. I have no idea why this lessens run-on. A quarter-turn fix can make a toilet stop running after six months of operation, after which it continues to function normally for another year. Sometimes a full turn (in 1/4-turn steps over a week) may be necessary to totally stop the running.2>> If #1 is unable to remedy the issue, thenTurn off the toilet's water supply.Remove the float, please.Remove the flapper and use a cotton cloth to give it a good cleaning.d> Use a cotton cloth to clean the flapper seat in the toilet. You can use a little soap if it helps. Really. Please refrain from using petroleum grease.General RemarkEven after carrying out all of these steps, your toilet may still occasionally run slowly. Don't freak out. The new parts may "settle in" over the course of a week or longer. Components may become "sticky" for a few days if there is too much silicon grease on them. Be patient, then. If there is a lot of running, try option #1 and repeat as necessary. Tighten the three cover ("top assembly") screws if the issue persists (see my instructions for that product). Even under ideal conditions, this toilet will occasionally leak a bit. Therefore, don't panic if there is sporadic, extremely light flow.> To browse my other reviews, click "Stoney" next to the product title. You may also leave a remark if you have any questions.
The average cost to replace a toilet fill valve is between $75 and $200. The specific cost will depend on the type of valve that needs to be replaced and the complexity of the job. Toilet fill valves are an important part of the toilet and are responsible for filling the tank with water after it has been flushed. A broken or damaged fill valve can cause the toilet to run constantly or not fill properly.
Most plumbers will charge between $75 and $150 to replace a toilet flange. The cost will depend on the complexity of the job and the plumber's experience.
Toilet fill valves typically last for many years. In some cases, they may need to be replaced after 10-20 years.
Toilet parts should be replaced as needed. Depending on the part, replacement may be required as often as every few months or as infrequently as every few years.
A fill valve controls how much water is in the tank, and it also controls how fast the water refills the tank after a flush. The fill valve is located inside the tank, on the back wall. It is usually held in place by a large nut. To replace a fill valve, first shut off the water to the toilet. Then, flush the toilet to empty the tank. Next, remove the large nut that holds the fill valve in place. The fill valve will come out with the nut. Now, take the new fill valve and thread the large nut
The two holes in the toilet bowl are called the overflow hole and the flush hole. The overflow hole is located near the top of the bowl and is used to prevent the bowl from overflowing if the water level gets too high. The flush hole is located near the bottom of the bowl and is used to allow water to enter the bowl when the toilet is flushed.
