There are many different types of toilet flappers on the market, but are any of them better than the others? It really depends on what you are looking for in a toilet flapper. Some people prefer toilet flappers that are made of durable materials, while others prefer those that are easier to install. Ultimately, it is up to the consumer to decide which type of toilet flapper is best for their needs.
If your toilet is constantly running, or if you notice that water is slowly trickling into the bowl after you flush, the problem is probably a faulty flapper. The flapper is a rubber valve at the bottom of the tank that opens to allow water to enter the bowl, and closes to stop the flow of water. Over time, the flapper can become warped or brittle and may not seal properly, causing water to leak from the tank. Fortunately, the flapper is a relatively easy part to replace, and doing so will stop the leak and save water. You can
If your flush valve is not flushing properly, it may be time for a new one. If you notice that your toilet is not flushing as well as it used to, or if it is taking a long time for the water to fill back up after flushing, then you may need a new flush valve. You can also check for leaks around the base of the toilet or in the tank, which may be a sign that the flush valve needs to be replaced.
If your toilet is running constantly or doesn't seem to be flushing properly, it's possible that your flapper is bad. You can tell if your flapper is bad if there is water leaking from the tank into the bowl, or if the flapper doesn't seal properly. If your flapper is bad, you'll need to replace it.

Just so you know, there is some confusion. The flapper model number, which may be found on a sticker on the underside of the tank lid, is required when placing an order. The flapper colors and accompanying numbers are depicted in the photographs in this listing. Even if the title is the same as on the front of the card, when you look at the photo of the card's back, you won't see your flapper number. Here's the distinction:1. Your tank's lid flapper number can be found there.2. The internal wall of the tank itself has the model number stenciled on it. One of the model numbers on the back of the card will match this number. You will require this in order to follow the simplified installation instructions.Observe which lever hole the chain is hooked to before removing the old, original flapper.2. Measure the chain's length from the flapper's top to the lever hole after removing the old flapper. This measurement might not match the suggested settings on the card, but it will be useful if you need to make changes.3. Before you put your hands in the tank or snap the replacement onto its posts, take note of the significance of the asterisk next to some of the arrow setting numbers. When attempting to remove the replacement flapper in order to make adjustments, some consumers have torn off a snap fitting.I would rate this product 5 stars if the Toto instructions were more clear and saved me time attempting to comprehend it. Since it is from Georgia, Toto/US should make it known that there are two separate model numbers in use for this global flapper.

Despite having little to no experience with toilets—aside from, you know, using them—I was able to install this without too much difficulty. I noticed that it didn't flush properly on some toilets. The flush lever would not move "up" when I would pull it. To get the water to flow, I had to press down on the lever.Trial and error revealed that I hadn't installed it properly, though. You will have an inappropriate flush if the chain is either too long or not long enough. To correct this, remove the chain from the clip and place it in a position that will allow it to be fully pulled down and up when the lever is pulled.

This project would have been finished in two minutes if I had simply purchased a non-adjustable flapper, which Korky also sells. There were no instructions provided for the settings, which govern how quickly the flapper descends. If you don't know the model number of your toilet, Korky videos and installation instructions encourage you to turn off the water, dump the tank, mark the water levels with a pencil, and then adjust as necessary. This is a major pain. You may find the recommended settings for toilet brand and make (but not model!) on a straightforward chart that is provided. I was left in the dark because there were like five different alternatives for Kohler toilets. You can find your model number inside your tank, right below the level of the lid, according to internet study I did. The rest was simple, but what a hassle this seemingly basic task turned out to be. Additionally, it was quite difficult to turn the dial that opened and closed the aperture. To get it to move, I had to use two hands and nearly break my fingernails. Just so you know, I initially tried to use the flapper right out of the package before I made the necessary adjustments. The tank replenished with water at a blisteringly fast rate compared to previously, but the toilet would flush as it should. Although my old flapper didn't have adjustable dials, it did have a float that could be used to regulate how quickly it closed. If I had understood all of this, I would have opted for the Korky 2001TP Universal Toilet Flapper, which is less expensive but requires no changes. More isn't always better in my opinion! You're in luck if it works flawlessly right out of the box, but you might need to do some study to make the necessary tweaks. This flapper currently operates flawlessly after the required adjustments.

The worst flapper ever created in the history of plumbing appears to have been corrected by Kohler at last. This flapper was once made from a single piece of plastic, including the small plastic axle around which it revolves (it is the only flapper that fits specific Kohler models). The flapper would no longer block the flow of water down the drain as a result of the plastic around the pivot points and arms deforming over time. Due to this issue, I had to buy a new flapper roughly every year or so because Kohler designs that employ this component frequently have a reservoir built into the toilet, meaning that changing the flapper required replacing the entire toilet. The flapper's axis is a solid bar in this new form, and the arms that attach to it appear to have been strengthened. So far, it's been really effective. If I find any issues with the new design, I'll update this review.

Approximately 6 months passed before the valve started to leak; verified that the flapper is properly seated. Afterward, replace it anyhow.I attempted to check, clean, and flush the valve seat as shown in the video. No aid. via the 1/8" plastic refill tube slowly yet steadily. I then learned the following:A siphon effect will cause water to slowly flow through the plastic refill tube and give the appearance of a faulty valve if the length of the refill tube extends lower into the pipe than the full water level.Even if everything seems to be fine, DO NOT USE THE EXISTING REFILL TUBE AGAIN. Use the included mounting clip AND refill tube, and if necessary, shorten the tube. By doing this, you can prevent the refill tube from siphoning the tank and opening the valve. Make sure there is no water flow by taking a look inside the bowl. This should be prevented, in my opinion, however the valve design does not.

Very simple to install and quickly halted our home's "phantom flushing" and constant tank fills that were brought on by leaking flappers. In the order of most frequent use, the flappers that the builder had put in our four toilets four years earlier started leaking. First to experience the problems tank filling was our toilet in the powder room. I completed all the recommended troubleshooting and research. Nothing resolved the problem. Fortunately, this new flapper made it go away. Our master bathroom toilet started experiencing the same issue a short while afterwards, maybe another month. The flappers that were placed when the house was completed were already a full year past their expected life duration, according to research I conducted. At that time, I went ahead and purchased three additional of these flappers, replacing both the leaking flappers in the master bathroom and the ones in the guest bedrooms that weren't yet leaking. I'm hoping they'll be really tough and resilient. I'm optimistic since they are made of a soft, thick red rubber instead of a rigid, hard, clear or white plastic like the ones that leaked.

My bathroom was leaking. The issue was not resolved by replacing the flapper, which appeared to be a rotting organ covered in disease.I therefore tried to clean the valve. failed to work The valve predated even the passage of time. My house was constructed in the 1950s, and I wonder whether anything has changed since then.replacement, then. FlushMaster was the previous brand, but this one was a dollar cheaper. Score. The Amazon Overlords sent a box. Then I discovered that in order to transfer between brands, the adapter stick thing has to be totally replaced. Surprise! There goes the value of the one dollar I managed to save. But no big deal—I've already installed two bidets and one flapper, so I must be an expert by now.Wrong. I began by putting on my stopwatch. The adapter needed to be changed after 50 minutes. You must enter the space beneath the toilet, unscrew the water supply connection, deal with the subsequent torrent of water (a bucket's worth and three towels' worth), and then screw on the replacement component. The challenging issue is that you are dependent on whoever tightened the toilet's floor nuts fifty years ago.I struggled to get the vacuum-tightened nuts off the floor while lying on my back on the chilly, wet bathroom floor. I was also trying to stay alive. I thought about how pointless my life was—here I was battling with plastic and porcelain while the minutes of my existence flew by on this big rock, mindlessly circling a vast universe of emptiness. A Sisyphean hour of pressure. The nuts were more constricted than a sumo wrestler's spandex. one with more fat. I continually gave up and then recovered.I finally understood that I was rotating the nuts in the wrong direction.Installation then took a little while. I rejected the instructions' advice to insert the rubber pipe thing into my toilet tube thing since the pipe was too short. Still functions flawlessly (in fact, it is quiet and quick to fill), but owing to my negligence, perhaps my toilet will one day end in a flaming explosion. The lesson of the tale? A dollar is not worth changing brands, and life has no purpose.

Therefore, your initial query would be, "How can I determine if this fits my Toto toilet?" Take remove your tank's lid and examine the bottom to find your model number. You should see an alphanumberic with three numbers and either "ST" or "CST" as the first letter. Your model number is that. To see if this works with your toilet, compare this to the part compatibility information.Regarding the flapper, I actually purchased the first one from my neighborhood Ace Hardware because, foolishly, I had not considered checking Amazon. The second one will be purchased through Amazon. The original one fit fine when I installed it. It does actually come with a chain, and according to the paperwork, a 5-year warranty is included. I sent an email to the maker to ask exactly how it operates, and when I hear back, I'll update my evaluation. Why just three stars? I'm holding off on writing a flawless rating until I get a response on the guarantee.Update: Lavelle Industries, the manufacturer, responded to my email. This seems like a no-brainer based on the information below... 5 year warranty for half the price of flappers with the Toto mark.[Lavelle Industries' response]"We appreciate your inquiry and your purchase of our Korky product. The flapper doesn't need to be registered. Simply have the flapper model number and our number on ready. If the flapper does need to be replaced, phone us and ask for a warranty replacement, and we'll be happy to send one your way."

Amazon's description is unclear, so I'll clarify:It is red, and the open time can be adjusted.C. Its clip width can also be changed.entered a house. The flapper on one of the toilets wouldn't stay open long enough to make a "good" flush, and the handle was difficult to flush. made a "clunk" noise.Received this in the mail, increased the clip width, and fiddled with the adjustable open time (dont know what number, I did it blind until I was happy). Now, flushing the toilet is simple, and the flapper stays open just long enough for a thorough flush without becoming stuck. Additionally, it will endure for a very long period.I'm glad.
If your toilet bowl is trickling, it's likely that the flapper is not sealing properly. The flapper is the rubber seal that covers the opening of the flush valve. When you flush the toilet, the flapper lifts to allow water to enter the bowl. When the flapper closes, it should create a tight seal so that water doesn't continue to enter the bowl. If the flapper isn't sealing properly, water will slowly trickle into the bowl. To fix a leaking flapper, you'll need to replace it with a new one. Flappers are relatively
The first thing you need to do is turn off the water to your toilet. Next, flush the toilet to remove as much water from the bowl as possible. Use a plunger to remove any remaining water from the bowl. Now, you need to remove the two bolts that hold the flapper in place. There should be a bolt on either side of the flapper. Use a wrench to remove these bolts. Once the bolts are removed, the flapper should come right off. If it doesn't, you may need to use a putty knife to pry it off. Finally
A toilet flapper is a rubber or plastic piece that seals the opening between the tank and the bowl. It is attached to a chain that allows it to open and close as the handle is operated. Over time, the flapper can become worn or damaged and will need to be replaced. The cost of a replacement flapper will vary depending on the type of flapper and the brand. Most flappers can be purchased for less than $20.
If your toilet flapper is more than five years old, it's probably time to replace it. Many factors can affect how often you need to replace your flapper, including the type of water in your home and how much use your toilet gets.
Most toilet flappers are made to fit most toilets. However, there are some that are made specifically for certain toilets. If you are unsure if a flapper will fit your toilet, you can always ask a plumber or the store where you bought the flapper.
