A tarp can make a great tent footprint and help prolong the life of your tent. When placing a tarp under your tent, be sure to secure it so it doesn't move around and cause friction and wear on the tent floor.
Yes, you can use Tyvek for a tent footprint. It is a great material to use because it is lightweight, durable, and water resistant.
The short answer is yes, tent carpets can work. They can add insulation to the floor of your tent, which can make a big difference in how comfortable you are when camping in cold weather. They can also help to keep the inside of your tent clean and free of dirt and debris. However, there are a few things to keep in mind when using a tent carpet. First, make sure that the carpet is the right size for your tent. Second, be sure to clean the carpet regularly to prevent it from becoming a breeding ground for mold and mildew. Finally, be sure
Whether a tent footprint goes inside or outside depends on the design of the tent. Some tents have the footprint attached to the bottom of the tent, while others have it as a separate piece. If the footprint is a separate piece, it is typically placed under the tent, as this will help to keep the bottom of the tent dry and free from debris.

This foot print was applied on the Bessport tent. It performed admirably in dense vegetation. Instructions on how to use it with the tent were missing. It was resolved by me. It ought to have come with the tent, in my opinion. The price rose by $20 as a result. Rolling back up and entering the carry bag proved challenging. It was all put together once I managed to make it fit with the tent. However, I still advise using a tarp or Tyvac wrap with it. It will be fine a few times a year on weekends, just like the tent. I would consider other options for longer journeys.

So I keep repairing my Colman two-room tent from the 1980s to keep it functional. The bottom of the poor thing has tiny holes after years of use. I used to put up my tent by folding a large tarp to fit inside, but it takes an additional 15 minutes.A modest two-person tent with the ideal footprint size was given to my son. I was so in love with that concept that I measured my tent and started looking about. There weren't any that were long enough for my tent. In contrast to contemporary tents, it is quite long and narrow. But I discovered that my tent would fit perfectly between two of these imprints that overlapped each other by an inch and a half in the centre. So I eagerly purchased them and then patiently awaited the end of the school day. I finally had the opportunity to use it while camping. While we were there, it rained twice, yet my tent's bottom and top remained dry both times. Only the lowest portions of the exposed side where the rainfly terminates were wet, which wouldn't have happened if I had been able to set up the rainfly guylines to slightly lift the rainfly off the tent.My new footprint makes me so thrilled! I've taken it camping with me numerous times, and I've found that being able to roll it up and unroll it with the tent has really shortened the time it takes to set up and take down. With these, I truly couldn't be happier.

This used as a tent footprint for a two-person tent, and it immediately demonstrated its waterproofness! When I took down my tent after a downpour, the water had collected a little on the tarp but showed no signs of penetrating the fabric. Since that appeared to be the thing to do at our campground that weekend, I could envision utilizing this as a cover over the picnic table as well. I might purchase another one for that as well. We all know how uncommon it is for something to fold down so neatly and fit back into the storage bag. A fantastic price for a sturdy yet lightweight tarp.

I bought this to use as the screened-in "floor" for our pop-up tent. I appreciate this because it isn't heavy to move around like an outside rug or crunchy plastic like a tarp. It has a softer plastic feel. Smoother on one side than the other. I want to test it out on the sand because it makes me think of sandproof blankets. It is easily folded, lightweight, and space-efficient.

I was first dismayed when MSR switched to the universal footprint because I didn't like it. But after using it for over 20 nights, my concerns were dispelled. With my Hubba Hubba NX2, I utilize it. It does pack rather large, but since it is only a footprint, I don't have to worry about it taking up room inside my pack if I keep it on the outside.

Who would have imagined that I would be impressed by a tent footprint? The tarp was rolled into a cinch bag when it was delivered. I initially believed that the wrong size had been provided! The cinch sack was approximately the size of a beer can even though I got the XXL. However, as I spread it out into the breeze and pulled it out, I was presented with a 6' by 7' tarp. Is this a witch's hat?But surely getting it back into that sack is not simple? Wrong! It took me less than a minute to fold and roll it into a little roll, and it not only fit into the cinch sack with ease but I felt like the sack was on the large side, so if you're really tight on space you could compress this to an absurd degree. Therefore, it is portable and simple to use, but can you expect performance from such flimsy plastic? It turns out that you can, indeed. Without a doubt, a simple "field test" with a water hose demonstrates that this item is as effective as a large, heavy tarp that you can buy at the hardware store as a water barrier. If required to do so in an emergency, I have no reason to doubt that this would truly give shelter. All of which is more value than I required, as I only purchased this footprint because it has sizes that fit compact backpacking tents well, whilst the majority of other footprints on the market are way too large, let alone costing double or treble what this does. This performs just as well, weighs about as much as your shirt, and costs about what a cheap blue tarp does. The only thing left is durability. You can presume that this is still in use and contentedly tucked away in my pack if you haven't heard from me. If this ends in an unjustified way, I'll update. I have high hopes for many journeys with this because it doesn't seem shoddy or weak.As a last point, the Amazon listing lists a shipment time that, at the time I ordered, was well over a month. The goods delivers internationally from China, however it took only 8 business days and 11 actual days for it to reach my doorstep after I placed my order.

Update: Despite the fact that I was well past the return window, I still made the decision to get in touch with Geertop. The way they responded pleasantly surprised me. They quickly determined that this was a manufacturing mistake and immediately sent out a new tarp, no questions asked, after asking me to send them pictures and make sure they understood the size of the tarp I had ordered. The new one is precisely what I anticipated: a good ground tarp, no sticky problems, and the weight that was promised (see latest pic). This is what I'm attributing to "manufacturing faults happen." Even though Geertop didn't have to, I appreciate that they stood behind their product. I've never been happier. They'll have my business again.Purchased this to serve as a footprint for a lightweight tent. Like several of the others, I had some trouble unfolding it, but I eventually succeeded in taking it apart. I'll let you know if warm weather makes that more of a problem. The weight is my biggest problem. My 2'11" x 6'11" weight is 157g instead of the 119g claimed (see picture and description); this is 43% heavier and will not fit my ultralight setup. I would not repurchase this.

All of the listed components for the tent, as well as a few extras, were immediately delivered with it. In addition to a set-up video on YouTube, there were printed instructions that were connected to the really good compression stuff sack. I dragged the tent outdoors and pitched it. The inner net tent and rain fly were already fastened together, and all pull out cords were already attached. There were extra cordage and nine lovely aluminum stakes with which to independently erect the inner net tent (this was a nice extra that I did not expect). Excellent stitching was used throughout. The pull-out spaces were all bar-tacked (I did seam seal the bar-tacked areas). In case I need it, there was also a whole additional main pull out cord, which was unexpected. There is only a one-way zipper on the doors, which is OK by me, and it runs extremely smoothly. There are no spots of the color (yellow) that are oddly tinted. The flooring is black and made of a thin but sturdy material. The tent is quite simple to erect; I placed a trekking pole at a height of between 122 and 125 cm, and that seems to function nicely. I have plenty of length because I'm just over 5 feet; however, I'm not sure if someone over 6 feet would find this a tight fit. I can set up there without getting uncomfortable. Although not intended to be "lived in," this tent would be practical for quick and light overnight travels. I believe that one might go on a long-distance trip and be happy if they take the same precautions that any lightweight tent requires. Quite a bit less expensive than a tent made of Dyneema Composite Fiber (up to $500 for a single-wall tent). With a few adjustments (mainly using lighter poles and a different stuff sack), I have the weight of this double-wall tent at just under 2 pounds. One-person tent that looks good and is well-made costs less than $100. Since I haven't used the tent on a trek yet, I can't give it 5 stars, but I don't anticipate being dissatisfied.

First off, I'm a novice camper with limited experience with tents and footprints. Given that... We were amazed by its thinness and similarity to the material used for the tent's roof. Although it appears to be well built, we thought it was a little "flimsy." It is of decent quality, and even if it felt "light-duty," it is probably merely to keep the weight down. I gave it a 5 because of this. Additionally, and this is a major plus, the tent and its footprint both fit within the tent bag that is included with the Genesee. We primarily purchased this to safeguard the tent's floor. It appears that it will accomplish that reasonably well while also adding another layer of defense against moisture and other elements. This is not as tough or weatherproof as a standard tarp, but given its weight/size, ease of carrying, and ability to fit perfectly beneath the tent, it seems like a wise investment for a high-quality tent that we want to last for a long time.

I just used it on a backpacking trip, and it kept my tent floor dry and free of holes. Initially, the setup was a little challenging. The head end with two poles does not have a hole for the pole to lock into; only the end with one pole does. Simply loop the corner straps around the tent corner and insert it through the loop. Not a significant deal, but factory-made holes would have made setup simpler and allowed you to forgo using the tent portion entirely by using the poles and rainfly as a shelter. I might install my own grommets to use it in that manner. A fantastic 1P tent is the Nemo 2P, and the footprint does stay in place underneath the tent.
A tent's footprint is the groundsheet that sits underneath the main body of the tent and is attached to the flysheet. It is essential in keeping the inside of your tent clean and dry, as well as providing some protection from the elements. The size of your tent's footprint should be relative to the size of your tent. For example, a two-person tent will usually have a smaller footprint than a four-person tent. That said, it is important to make sure that your footprint is big enough to provide adequate coverage. A good rule of thumb is to make sure that your
There are a few things you can do to keep water from seeping into the bottom of your tent. First, make sure you choose a campsite that is on high ground and away from any potential sources of water, such as a river or lake. Second, use a groundsheet or tarp to create a barrier between the ground and your tent. Finally, seal the seams of your tent with a waterproof sealant to prevent water from entering through any cracks or holes.
A tarp under a tent should be at least 4-6 millimeters thick. The tarp should also be made of a waterproof and breathable material.
A ground sheet is a waterproof sheet that is placed under a tent to protect the bottom of the tent from moisture and abrasion. A footprint is a ground sheet that is custom-fit to the dimensions of a particular model of tent.
A tent footprint is a groundsheet that is placed under your tent to help protect it from abrasion and wear. A tarp is a waterproof sheet that can be used for a variety of purposes, including as a groundsheet.
There are a few things to consider when deciding if a footprint is worth the investment for a tent. The first is how often the tent will be used. If the tent will be used on a regular basis, then a footprint can help extend the life of the tent by protecting the bottom from abrasion and moisture. The second is the type of terrain the tent will be used on. If the tent will be used on rocky or abrasive terrain, a footprint can help prevent premature wear and tear. The third is the weight and packability of the footprint. Some footprints can be quite
