With these items on it, it is incredibly challenging to open. That must be the cost of having the assurance that our 1-year-old won't accidentally blow up our house by tampering with the gas burner.Apart from the knob protectors' size, the sellers of this product are review beggars. I am aware that Amazon's algorithm for rating products encourages this undesirable behavior, but the merchants will email you repeatedly pleading for a review. It was pure luck that he managed to open it that first time; he just so happened to put his thumb through the hole because ever since then he hasn't been able to. I can't remember which type we tried prior to this, but they lacked a rubber grip, requiring you to squeeze or rather pinch the doorknob with your fingers in order to turn it. Additionally, a two-year-old may insert his finger, pull it out, and snap it off. They were ineffective and inexpensive.On the other hand, these ones function flawlessly. These continue to be pretty successful and are simple for bigger children and adults to use because our two-year-old has not yet figured out how to use them.These ones also don't feel inexpensive. At least over door knobs where you don't frequently need to reach a knob lock, the cover does a good job of doing its function. The tiny door that leads to the knob lock is not the simplest to open, and I assume it is tough to turn the lock once it is, but for a knob you only infrequently lock or are concerned about your child locking, it definitely suffices. It's difficult to pull off, which is obviously a crucial feature and not a bug.We tried it on our front door, which has a bigger knob, but after determining that it was unsafe in an emergency case like a nighttime fire where we wouldn't have time to fidget with our grasp, we determined it was too cumbersome. Instead, it prevents the child from opening the basement door. Every day, we utilize it (or, should I say, bypass it), and thus far, it seems to be strong enough.

I was beginning to lose hope that I would ever have functional plumbing again because I was the mother of a young kid who was determined to flush the entire house down the toilet and escape into the yard or the road. A gas stove and six cats don't go together.
