OEMTOOLS 27044 Steering Wheel Lock Plate Remover Review:

The gadget is simple to use and held together during the one use I've had so far.If you have strong hands and fingers, it is possible to remove spring plates with just your fingers, although it is difficult. With the aid of this tool, the task was completed in 30 seconds instead of the five minutes it would have taken to attach the lock down to the steering column and turn the wingnut just enough to release the spring plate. In the case that the retaining clip is removed with a screwdriver, it also helps avoid potential finger or hand gouging. The screwdriver seems to slip when removing the retaining clip and stabs me in the hand each time I use my hand to compress a spring plate.I don't see why other similar tools are more expensive, and I don't see any justification for spending more money. This is quite effective.

ABN Steering Wheel Lock Plate Removal Tool Review:

It looked identical to my friend's matco puller and performed identically. It is not necessary for this kind of gadget to be an expensive name brand. Simply squeeze the spring on a steering column with this to remove the lock ring. The wonderful thing about this is that you tighten the tool's wing nut rather than using a wrench like you would with other pricey equipment. This is a simple task that works perfectly. When working on tilt or non-tilt columns, a necessity. a reliable Amazon purchase!

Dorman 905-104 Ford/Mercury Column Shift Repair Kit Review:

I bought this component in February, and I had a shop do a professional installation. Up until this past weekend, when the brand-new part—this part—also broke—it worked well. I now need to return to the shop to address the same issue once more. I'm not rich, and this is just not right. I wouldn't be purchasing this again if I had a choice of manufacturers, but no one in my area has this item in stock, and I need my truck to be able to travel to work and receive a salary every two weeks.Edit::: I want to say sorry. The aforementioned post was what I was initially told happened when it broke; but, when I took it to a "second" repair shop, they informed me of the truth. It was only a matter of time before the gear shift started flopping all over the place once more because the original repair shop never installed the snap ring onto the back end of the Dorman part. The first shop refused, claiming they didn't see a snap ring, that it was my fault they must not have seen a snap ring, and that they didn't even know where a snap ring would fit onto the Dorman part. The second shop suggested that I contact the first shop to see if they would fix their error under warranty. By the way, the Dorman portion includes a snap ring, and although it's difficult to see in the product image, there is a groove for the snap ring to fit into at the upper right end of the long part in the image, just under the ring of grooves. It's simple to fix with snap ring pliers. Unfortunately, it can be a headache to pull the dashboard out and fix it yourself once the ring breaks (not probable), or in my case, with it never placed, once the gear shift falls out of alignment again (mine got stuck in park). This part is strong and does a great job...if you are going to do a self install it's actually pretty easy but you will need a rotary grinder with strong sanding discs and it took me a few "Hours" to get the old part out when though the original had snapped in to it didn't snap in a place that made it easy to get out so I had to cut it out. So basically: this part is strong and does a great job...if you are going to Once removed, installing the Dorman component is simple (just remember the snap ring, hehe). If I may recommend, look up "explorer forums" on the internet along with this Dorman part. They have step-by-step instructions for replacing Ford/Mercury column shifts without spending hundreds of dollars, and in some cases, the fix just takes a few minutes. Good fortune.

OEMTOOLS 24210 GM Upper Control Arm Knock Out Tool Review:

My 3500 Chevrolet pickup's elimination of notches was accelerated by this product. One came out quite poorly and gave me a pain in the behind, but the other seven came out without a hitch. Apart from that, it was because I lacked a tool that would have made it simple. Nothing is flawless, but you can always use tools to occasionally make things easier.

Dorman 905-102 Steering Column Shift Tube Review:

Fits perfectly in my 2002 F250. returned the infamously sloppy Ford shifter to its original smoothness. My 16-year-old vehicle now shifts like new, the indicator shows the right value, and I have no trouble starting it when in park or putting it in park. Although this is a Chinese part, there is no justification for paying more for the genuine Ford part since they have a history of using components that are equally affordable to those you would buy abroad. I strongly advise swapping out the inexpensive stock brackets made of aluminum for the aftermarket steel ones from Dorman. When I eventually had a look inside, one of the OEM brackets was totally busted in half, which made it clear why my shifter was acting so clumsily and uncooperatively. In addition, a spare pair of plastic bushings is included with the Dorman brackets. They are a little expensive for what they are, but the improvement is well worth it, especially if you don't plan to fix it again in a few years.

OTC 4796 Steering Neck Bearing Race Remover Review:

I got this to take the steering head races off of a 2001 Triumph Bonneville for a friend. The steering head's construction makes it difficult to tap them out with a punch or other tool. The tool arrived yesterday, and the races started right away. Finding the right socket to utilize as a driver was the toughest issue because the neck of the frame is not a straight shot. So, using my no-bounce hammer and the largest socket that would fit on the tool and within the neck while linked to a 1/2 inch extension, they were extracted. The driving lip is well-formed and free of any tooling, and the tool's box states that it was made in Taiwan. I didn't notice any lip distortion after use. I'm thrilled with this particular use.

Helix 23111 Billet Column Dress-Up Kit Review:

These performed admirably in my self-adaptive Jeep tilt wheel build. Shiny chrome finish on the tilt wheel rod, flashers, and turn signals. What could possibly be disliked about this? It's the ideal aftermarket addition for vehicles without a radio or cruise control knobs. My application for a jeep is going well.
