This Fiskars plastic one is amazing, but the steel one is quite hefty! In comparison to metal ones, it is SO MUCH LIGHTER! It is really comfortable to grasp and effortlessly fits in my hand.Similar to other staplers, bigger projects require more pressure from the user. For instance, if you are stapling cork or wood, you will need to put more shoulder into it than if you are stapling fabric. I will say that this Fiskars stapler is not strong enough to be used on hard woods; if you're working with oak or mahogany, don't even spend your time using it! But for the vast majority of other uses, this is ideal!The fact that the stapler did not include a tiny supply of staples irritated me. Fiskars should add a few rows and charge $1 more. The staples weren't at my neighborhood grocery, but I was able to get some from Amazon.

Our requirement is basic. We make a lot of ornamental stuff, and occasionally we build substantial decorative pieces out of inexpensive materials like plywood and other sheets. AWESOME! One of my all-time favourite hand tools. It and a box of Rapid 5/16" staples only came two days ago, but I've already put more than 60 feet of speaker cable and stapled a couple pieces of oak and pine moulding to the ceiling and baseboards. NOT A SINGLE BROKEN STAPLE! Unlike other staplers, this one only requires you to squeeze the trigger; there is no recoil. Even on the smooth side of Masonite, which is among the toughest wood products available, the staples at least penetrated halfway; most staplers won't even attempt this. What you pay for, you get!
