Styrofoam insulation was totally intact when I opened the box, which is always a good indicator. The (heavy) subwoofer was easy to remove from the box after pulling it out and removing the plastic cover. Good so far...I loaded up my favorite Blu-ray, "Eagles Farewell I Tour," and attached it to one of the channels on my QSC RMX-850 two-channel amplifier without more delay. The audio quality on the DVD is put to the test admirably thanks to the outstanding production. One of my two Pro Audio 15's had blown "subs over the weekend and required a workable repair that wasn't too expensive. It positively rattles the portraits on the walls and makes the other sub seem utterly pitiful when Don Henley bangs the bass drum at the beginning of "Life's been nice."So what the heck, why not grab another one since life is too short for lousy subs, especially at this price?I can only hope that these units last, but I am unable to comment at this moment. The amplifier I'm using only has a 3db @ 30hz filter and can only support roughly 185W per channel into 8 ohms, so these speakers will receive enough treatment for their power ratings. Time will only tell. I'm crossing my fingers, but in the meantime, I'm really into this Rockville kick!The second sub has now arrived (again, in two days!). This time, there were two nylon shipping straps on the box. Although there was some minor box damage where the straps pierced the cardboard, the carriers evidently handled the box significantly better overall as a result. All I can say is that having two of these subwoofers has improved the sound of my gigs drastically. I don't know what I was waiting for to buy these,I've seen several reviews of the RBG15S sub on Amazon where some reviewers felt that the sub was "underwhelming." I have NO IDEA what they were listening to, but IF you know anything about subwoofers in general and the fundamentals of gain/volume/crossover/boost, this sub will wreck your house. You might reason that since you have TWO subwoofers, they will inevitably sound better and hit harder. While this IS the case, I ran only one sub throughout my testing, partnered with a set of Rockville RPG 12s, and it hit HARD. When both were connected, EVERY single wall, window, and fixture in my home began to bend and vibrate erratically. Even my garage doors were vibrating and creaking because it was that awful.Given that it is only a 15-foot sub, it is a very massive and hefty sub ", weighing over 90 pounds! No way in hell am I obtaining the 18 "as I had originally intended The front bottom of the box features two slotted ports and is carpeted. Additionally, a blue LED on the front lets you know if the speaker is turned on (when in front of it, with no music playing). It is possible to dim this light. The box does not flex or creak, and each joint appears to be securely linked. I had to mount the sub on my tiny mini-trolley/dolly in order to move it around. The two handles on the sub are equally as sturdy as the sub. I never once worried that they would come off or anything. Likewise, I never worried about the subs flexing or breaking when I picked them up.The sound is really loud, as I've already indicated, and if you know a thing or two about sub audio, you can have it sounding accurate and tight. The sub has two XLR/1/4-combination methods for LINE IN/THRU "port. Two XLR connections make up the OUT. If your tops are XLR, I'd advise using XLR from the sub to them for the BEST sound. If you only have RCA speakers, you could make a wire with an XLR side and RCA on the other, and connect it from the sub to the top speakers. Level (also known as Volume/Gain), a Crossover, and Boost selectors are located on the back. AWESOME SUB!if you are debating whether or not to subscribe. Simply get it. I once had an EV SBA 760 sub. I wanted to downsize because that thing was incredible, but it was too hefty and large to carry to concerts anymore, so I bought a Behringer B1200D-PRO, which tragically fell short of my expectations.
